The Presidential Planner
ABC News' Sunlen Miller report: President Obama today will hold a daytime press conference late this morning in the East Room of the White House. At the start of his press conference Mr. Obama will formally announce that he is appointing University of Chicago economist Austan Goolsbee to be chair of his Council of Economic Advisers, replacing Christina Romer. President Obama's last full press conference was in late May. -Sunlen Miller

The President doesn’t check comment threads of blogs, for heaven’s sake, but he has repeatedly called out incitement to violence and extremism.
Meanwhile, I wonder if Republicans are reading what is garnering the most attention on their gimmick web site, America Speaks out. According to Boehner, Pence and others, they are paying attention to the site, and if so, its clear that their constitutents would like them to focus on job creation and “stop the outsourcing of jobs from America to other countries that do not pay taxes into the U.S. and stop the tax breaks that are given to these companies that are outsourcing.” (hat tip, Think Progress)
Turns out Dems have proposed just that several times. But the Republicans voted no– as they have to all job creation ideas and opportunities for work, as they have to middle class tax cuts, jobs for firefighters and police officers, pro-business proposals, small business aid, fair pay for women, consumer protections, health care for children, funding the troops and improving benefits to veterans.

p.s.
Congrats, Austan. Now, can you do all us a favor and make the case on TV for progressive economics. As Gallup points out and other polling suggests, Americans do NOT want to extend ALL off the Bush tax cuts and are in agreement with the President, even if some loser-ish Dems are siding with the wrong-headed Republicans. Americans also prefer job creation to Republican-style deficit peacock stuff in the short term.

Planned questions from the ABC News Corpse team:
- why do you think the republicans are so mean to you? and a follow up: what else can we do to help?
- when is your next vacation? its been a tough week, what with defending the 1st amendment and all. you look a bit tired and we all are worried.
- policy question? ummm can’t think of anything the American people might want to know about.

Why is the president calling on reporters from a written list beside him – and I don’t mean why doesn’t it fit on his teleprompter?
He called on one reporter and then had to confirm that she was even in the room.
Do the reporters have to submit to their proposed questions in advance?
His constant referral to his little list looks odd.

I like to say this, the president is not helping our ecomony let alone helping us here at home. I think we need to boycot the goverment and get our ecominy back on track, also I think that the goverments, all of the goverments should take a reduce in pay and live on a fixed income and only be paid minimun pay, this way we can get oput ecominy back on track!!!
