I guess the liberal democrtic congress has to start from the beginning passing these beginners type legislation. They certainly screwed up on the big time legislations recently, so back to basics 101, see Jane run, run run run.

Okay, vote on a Bill to "turn the volumn down", but why can't our "elected representatives in Washington, D.C." do anything to turn around this economy? why is it that these same "trusted people", our trusted "representatives" don't do something to help feed the poor and the homeless in this country, yet so many of our "representatives" are millionaires or near millionaires who make sure that they increase their own incomes

I thought that was already the law of the land. Wasn't a law like that passed several years ago?

Wait - are you sure this is OUR SENATE? The U.S. SENATE? They're actually DOING SOMETHING? I didn't think they had it in them.

Ever since they put a MUTE button on controllers, I've not had to endure the sound pollution of the blaring commercials. I suppose that the purpose of the volume is to make conversation impossible so we can pay attention to whatever is being peddled.
Muting the ads is my way of telling them that I and not they are in charge of what I will watch. So, whatever they have paid for the ad is wasted.

Have you seen the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform's Youtube channel? Is that indicative of other committees?
If people would be "honest" more work would get done!
I didn't read the bill but I believe the volume should not change. Corporations already take advantage of "marketing" and ignorance at a horrific level. People do not have time to sit and read every detail.
I have experienced similar situations and hate the volume change. I believe it is a good bill. More importantly, it indicates bills can be passed. What I don't understand is how other important bills cannot be passed?
This one is simple, but so are others. Democrats and Republicans take advantage. The Dream Act and the DADT repeal is an example.
The Republicans said the Democrats were playing politics with the Defense Authorization Bill and I agree.
Although I personally believe DADT and Dream Act should be passed, I do not believe the bills should have been attached to such an important bill.
I am assuming the Defense Authorization Bill is important!

It's about freakin' time!!! Complaining to your TV provider does NO good and the volume today compared to even 5 years ago is ridiculous! I like to keep my TV at a neighbor-friendly volume as much as possible, so shouting at me by forcing the broadcast volume up WON'T help you sell me your product.
