ABC's Z. Byron Wolf reports:
Florida Independent Charlie Crist, trailing in polls to Republican Marco Rubio, pivots in the final days of the election to run against Sarah Palin and “extremism” in the final days of the election.
“On Tuesday you’re going to choose a path for our state and nation,” he tells voters in a new ad, attempting to nationalize the race as a referendum on the tea party.
“Down one road is extremism,” he says. “Where Roe versus Wade is overturned and being a moderate is a curse. That’s the road Sarah Palin, Marco Rubio and the tea party want to take us down. It’s a dangerous road and the polls say I’m the only one who can stop them.”
In recent days, Crist has called Rubio a “Sarah Palin fellow.”
Crist is trying to convince Democratic voters that despite his history as a Republican, they should vote for him over the Democrat, Kendrick Meek.
