Christine O’Donnell Ad: ‘I’m Not A Witch’

ABC's Michael Falcone reports:

“I'm not a witch," Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell assures voters, who may be concerned that she once "dabbled" in the dark arts, in a new ad released by her campaign on Monday.

"I'm nothing you've heard," O'Donnell continues in the 30-second spot — the first of the general election — "I'm you."

The ad features a spare background, quiet piano notes and O’Donnell, the GOP candidate who has sparked controversy for her past statements on witchcraft, abstinence and evolution, among other things, speaking directly into the camera.

“None of us are perfect, but none of us can be happy with what we see all around us,” she says. “Politicians who think spending, trading favors and back-room deals are the ways to stay in office. I’ll go to Washington and do what you’d do.”

O'Donnell defeated Rep. Mike Castle, R-Del., to win the Republican Senate nomination and is facing off against Democrat Chris Coons in the general election. Her campaign has gained notoriety from a steady stream of video clips released by television personality Bill Maher, who often featured O'Donnell as a guest on the show he hosted for nearly 10 years, "Politically Incorrect."

In the ad's finale, O'Donnell repeats one of her opening lines: “I’m you." The commercial was created by Fred Davis, the ad wizard who came up with California GOP Senate candidate Carly Fiorina's "Demon Sheep" spot.

She may not be a witch, but she sure can do magic with a broomstick and a red, white and blue bikini.

No one is perfect! Well not only is
O’Donnell not perfect she is a NUT!!
I’m you!! No way are you me!

I’m not a bag of crazy.

She sure isn’t ME, and she sure wouldn’t do anything close to what I would do. Witch or Wacko, take your pick.

Why do Republicans always complain about crooked politicians, yet they are the first ones to vote them into office? You really should quit complaining, OR become a little more particular who you vote for.

It never even crossed my mind to accuse her of being a witch. I just thought she was brainless. (And still do.)

If Christine was me, I’d have to have myself committed. And, I’d want the other half of my brain back. BTW, did she say “bathroom deals” in this ad — sounded like it?

Christine for Delaware senate.

You’re not me, Christine…
I love illegal aliens. I favor Muslims and believe like Obama that NASA’s new mission is to make Muslims “feel good”. I think the Ground Zero mosque is a great idea. I think Obamacare with its new 3.8% tax on all real estate sales starting Jan 2012 is FANTASTIC! I spend like a drunken sailor and know that government knows best — not the people (aka the serfs).
No Christine, I’m nothing like you and average people.
In my own words, I’m a bearded marxist.
Plus, the voters are so dumb, they’ll probably vote for me!

Very good ad. The libs hate it because it will be very effective and they know it. You are me. I’m tired of the same old sh– year after year after year. We need some new blood in DC and you are just the kind we need.
Those bloodsucking vampires in DC are just like the hoard of lawyers that are killing our country. When they taste your blood they will die a slow and painful death.

She is more of “US” then those in Washington! WAKE UP Delaware! The genuine “NUTS” are those in Washington who think “WE THE PEOPLE”, don’t know any better, while they do! Some of you people here are Moronic! WE ARE FED UP!! I’ll elect my 8th grade educated, toothless cashier, at my neighborhood grocery store to Washington, then sending back ANYONE there now!!

You’re like me? ah, no. I always knew witchcraft was a weirdo thing. Always. Oh yes, even when I was ‘young’. I never cheated on my taxes, I never lied on my resume. I never lied about where I went to school, what for and I got my degree on time. I paid my college loans back pronto, because you know, that program when it loses money, it makes folks not want to give college loans to kids saying they’re not trustworthy, so that’s a pretty mega sleezy thing to do, endanger other kids’ opportunties to go to college becuase you’re a slacker, and by the way, I didn’t appreciate your explaination for all the slacker not-paying-your-bills, defaulting on you house, not having a job “I’m not a trust fund baby”. Really? So unless your a trust fund baby you get to cheat and lie and steal. Guess what, you’re not even married, you dont have kids, you can’t even support YOURSELF properly and keep your own finances for YOURSELF, just you, in order and you think you’re qualified to represent an entire state?????? No, you’re not like me. You’re irresponsible, immoral, theif, liar, and phony baloney attentionwhore and slacker who is looking for a cushy government job to give you a paycheck and great benefits because you can’t for the life of you find a job in the private sector becaues you have no knowledge and no skills and never have! No, Christine, you are NOT like me!

I particularly liked how she sued her ex-employer, who fired her because, gee, surprise surprise, she’s an airhead and couldn’t do the job, and then she sues him stating that she’s attending Princeton for her Master’s Degree and she wanted a few million from them for interrupting her studies. Uh huh. So, brainless, it never crossed your mind that a laywer might…..CALL Princeton and maybe ASK if you’re actually there????? She never set foot in Princeton, and in fact, she had not even completed her bachelor’s yet, of which she lied about to her employer and said she did. I dont even care that she dabbled in witchcraft half as much as I’d be concerned of how stupid you have to be to lie in a suit and not realize that, gee, what genius, they MIGHT check on your story!! Too big a brain leap for you to make there, Chrissy?

Christine,
You’re not like me.
Unions should get endless raises with no pay for performance. We shouldn’t have to pay a penny co-pay for healthcare. Fortunately, Obama and Obamacare built in special deals for unions so we can LAUGH as the serf populace pays and we continue our endless free ride on the backs of the taxpayers.
Like our enemy, the new Gov of NJ Chris Christie says, unions get raises just for “still breathing”.
Unions don’t want you, Christine. We need the serfs to be fat, stupid, and blind so we can live like kings and the serfs can toil so that we can eat cake while they search for crumbs in the gutter.
No Christine, you’re not like me.
We’re like bearded marxists who thrive on the backs of the serfs like the parasites we are.

Posted by: Union Thug | October 4, 2010, 9:07 pm 9:07 pm

Can the the bearded Marxist have an ad that says “I am you”? That I’d like to see.

Posted by: SwineFlu4U | October 4, 2010, 9:08 pm 9:08 pm

Her angle should be “I am not an idiot”, but of course, that wouldn’t play well to her base, for which the only issue is whether or not she ever dabbled in witchcraft. Nevermind her other idiotic comments, her record of mishandling of funds, her lack of experience, her positions…WAS she ever or is she now a witch??? As for backroom deals, anybody recall the Cheney sessions in which the oil companies were invited to create our national energy policy behind closed doors and the transcripts were SEALED? Oh, ye hypocrites.

Posted by: Raven | October 4, 2010, 9:08 pm 9:08 pm

Ms. O’Donnell, you are NOT me. You are everything that runs counter to what this country stands for. No, you are not me, you are not us, and you are NOT the United States–and if you and the other Tea Partiers had any integrity, you’d live up to your words and stay out of Washington, since you’ve all made it crystal clear that you hate our nation’s capital.

Christine,
Have you seen the new movie “Waiting for Superman” about how teacher unions are killing education and the country?
You should because unions need stupid taxpayers to pay everything for us — you can’t fire us, we can loaf all day and whine endlessly about “its for the children” that we need to pay ZERO CO-PAY.
HA HA — we need a bearded marxist, not an average person. Without marxists, unions are in trouble so you’re not like me!

If she isn’t a witch, then she must be able to float when she’s thrown into a pool of water. The question now is what is Christine O’Donnell hiding by refusing to be bagged up and tossed into a pool of water? (thanks to Monty Python – if you don’t get the sarcasm, go Google until you do.)

Christine O’Donnell will win in Delaware because she represents a change in direction from corrupt politics to a smaller government. This is something even most democrats believe in. The Liberal left can’t focus on any issues, because they know that if they do they will lose. Instead, they keep bringing up irrelevant issues like O’Donnell dabbling in witchcraft in high school. It is truely amusing to observe democrats pretending to be outraged at some alleged ethical misconduct… as if they have any moral compass whatsoever…

Posted by: HTS | October 4, 2010, 9:35 pm 9:35 pm

Come on; she’s up for Biden the plagerizer’s seat who scored the bottom 10% of his class.
You are a confused person Christine. That MTV video you were preaching “purity” as a “Christian” and then going out on a date with a Satanist; as you said you both had a picnic on a table w/blood on it that was used for sacrifice. So basically, you’re not a witch in that sense; just a Jezebel and we know what happened to her.

Posted by: TalkingOcean | October 4, 2010, 9:36 pm 9:36 pm

Christine O’Donnell is obviously a fine woman with high principles. It is laughable to observe the liberal left pretending to be outraged by some alleged ethical misconduct… as if they have any moral compass! The democrats’ only hope of victory is that the electorate remain in ignorance. They cannot run on their record because it sticks. Thus, they continually bring up irrelevant negative issues about their opponents, totally ignoring the very sesspool that they are wallowing in.

Boy talk about h8te the libs always talk about. The venom they show for women or minorities that dare to be conservative. They MUST tear them down. Never talk about their ideas, issues or plans it is about the candidates character. They emaciated Judge Thomas over a pubic hair, and call us racist is we disagree with Obama’s ideas. Well this year Dems you have gone and done it. the moderates and independents have become wise to the issues also. No longer will your attack on their character work. We want every incumbent that voted the Obama agenda out. You will feel our wrath in November.

Yeah Earl, I love that one. Beck tells his people for weeks to make sure they clean up at his rally. He wants not one piece of trash left. He says it again at the rally. Of course they clean up. Which is great because I hate trash too. Yet the next rally, like normal, people leave trash. Since their great leader didn’t keep harping on it. And now we have to hear “liberals leave trash, conservatives don’t.” There is no end to the stupidity the right can cook up.

Posted by: secondlook | October 4, 2010, 10:05 pm 10:05 pm

The election for Senate from Delaware is gonna hinge on whether the voters there actually get the facts on Coons. If they do, they will then see he is a far left Dem much like Pelosi or Reid. Coons’ strategy should be to suppress his past record and background. If he can get the media out there to protect him like they did to Obama, there is no way O’Donnell can defeat him.

Posted by: Sapwolf | October 4, 2010, 10:05 pm 10:05 pm

None of the liberals out there are running on the issues. Their only strategy is to defocus from the real issues and hope for the masses to remain in ignorance until November 2. It is laughable to watch democrats pretend to be outraged at something like witchcraft… as if they have any moral compass! Their entire political philosophy is based on deception and hatred.

Posted by: HTS | October 4, 2010, 10:09 pm 10:09 pm

“None of us are perfect” is not a correct english – totally wrong. The right thing to say is “none of us is perfect” I am not a politician, I just want a suitable candidate to get the job. It may be a good idea to correct that in your AD. Ms.O’Donnell. Goodluck.

Talk about dumb….Lets see, we now have a president who thinks there are 58 states…”I have been to 57 states and have one to go.” see’s dead people, “I see our fallen soldiers out there in the crowd.” a president who can’t even spell (corpsman) or talk to little children w/o a teleprompter and says he will be the most transparent, I guess that is why he has all his pertinent records, including his grades, sealed by spending over a million dollars. A man who names his dog after himself, BO.. who went to the church of the hater for 20 years and hung around w/a bomber, (who has also stated he wrote Obama’s books.)Oh,he bows to leaders of other countries, now that is class.. I would say he is the biggest stone cold, fake, phony, pot smoking snake oil salesman that has ever lived in the white house. along w/Po-looser, Harry, Rangel, and all the tax cheats, and let us not forget Grayson and Franken,(the clowns) shameful..
So I guess “the witch” will fit in nicely w/the liars, thugs, and crooks in Washington. If a community organizer can become president, there is hope for everyone. h(D)ope and change. Isn’t American great! God Bless America.

4 year of Dem control of Congress ….prior to the housing and financial collapse…and 2 years of WH ….have left this country weaker.
Congress controls spending/debt/ oversight and the Dem congress failed to slow the fall of our country’s economy.
Look at any stats prior to the Nov ’06 election and budgets after the last GOP one for FY ’07 then compare them to today and they speak for themselves.
Who did Coons date in HS? As a Yale Divinity grad , what Church does he attend and what are their positions on premarital sexuality? Are chimera experiments using mice and human cells a more bizarre fantasy than when Obama commenting to us about his election said,”This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.” What do scientists think of this claim? When confronted with a comparatively tiny oil well leak he issued the very Presidential statement ” I can’t swim down there and suck it up with a straw”.
Biden plagiarized a major speech and fibbed about his education and issued his “a 3 letter word,J-O-B-S” classic. Pelosi said famously “We have to pass the bill to see what is in it!” about restructuring 1/6 of the US economy and health care delivery. Is that what you want to hear from the person 2nd in line to be President? Have you heard her describe her favorite “word”? Pete Stark told a constituent something about “peeing on his leg” and Alan Grayson said the GOP want people to die quickly” among other gems.
Should Democrats really mock O’Donnell or is it just that they rather talk about her than their record?

The media has to get a life. We get it. O’donnell is a nut. Enough already. You are obsessed about her. She is down by 15 percent in every poll and yet you have headlines about her all the time. You liberals love to think that voters are idiots. 435 house seats up and 33 senate seats up and yet you try to smear a whole party because of o’donnell. You think if you keep talking about o’donnell then voters in all 50 states will say o’donnell is crazy and lets vote for the democrat. This is the best you got to lie to the voters. You are covering o’donnell like she was elected the presidential nominee of her party. Enough already with the obsession with a race that isn’t even close. Give it up. The joke is on the liberal media if they keep obsessing about a race which isn’t even close because they think somehow o’donnell will have the same negative effect palin had when o’donnell isn’t even on the ballot in 49 states. ABCNEWS you got to have something else to help the dems with. This O’donnell obsession can’t be the best the dems have to offer. Every day it is what o’donnell said in 1999, 1996, 2006 or in a ad. Who the hell cares she has no shot of winning and you know that but you obsess about her thinking if you talk about her nonstop it will affect voters in the other 49 states. You take voters for fools. Check out the latest gallup likely voter poll your o’donnell obsession isn’t working.

I keep hearing them say they are outraged that in america a nut like o’donnell can be a senate candidate. Why not worry about greene. No one cared about o’donnell. @’who is she’ – The question is not what are her detractors afraid of, but rather what is she afraid of. She has claimed since the primary that she will avoid the ‘main stream media’ in favor of local Delaware press. But she now refuses to be interviewed by any Delaware newspaper or radio station. The ads she is running (with mostly out-of-state money) are ALL being broadcast on out-of-state media (Delaware has no television stations.) She refuses to announce any campaign stops, not that there are many. She refuses to recant any of her ‘youthful’ statements. By the way, for a woman who claims 20 years of political experience, 2006 is not the distant past. So, since neither the voters of Delaware nor their surrogates, a free press, can gain access to Ms O’Donnell, I ask you again – What is she afraid of?

Posted by: JustTheFacts | October 5, 2010, 1:02 am 1:02 am

Christine O’Donnell favors the end of the federal drug war, smaller government, and less spending. Coons will be yet another lever-puller for Obama (as if he doesn’t have enough wanna be lever pullers in the media and this board. Listen to Christine (from 15 years ago) on this one: Don’t pull a lever for a lever puller. Vote for a less intrusive government. Vote for Christine.

Better a witch than a toady. Since BO took office and pelosi and gang voted on credit card bill, my credit card rates went up. Since they voted on the new bank bill, my bank rates have gone up. They have promised to raise taxes (that was actually a BO campaign promise) and just might. Since they voted on healthcare, my copays have gone up – and soon, I bet, my premiums will go up. I’ll find out in Nov. when my renewal is due. This is even before most of the major costs kick in in ’14!

When liberals talk qualifications, they are concerned about what college the candidate graduated from, and how well the candidate can read from a teleprompter. As a conservatives I want experience. One thing is clear to me. The minimum qualification for running for President of the United States should be past executive experience as a governor of one of our states.

Christine, I don’t like your ad.
Your ad is too soft and polite.
If you are trailing now, you will
lose anyway. Therefore, the thinking
is you must go for broke, go for
the throat.
Start talking about how the left
is attacking you for your destruction
and they are succeeding. So , unless
you get them to vote for you , they
will win and they will lose out
having you in the senate.
Use your imagination. Look at Boxer
she started attacking carly
viciously, and she is now pulling
away in the polls.
You got nothing to lose, go for
the jugular, because you are
losing now anyway.
If you go for broke, you might be
able to turn it around.
Good luck.

I have totally lost respect for you.
You sound pathetic.
The only way to get back your respect
is to forge ahead, fight, complain, about the negative attacks by the left,
etc, etc. Then, you might survive
and bounch back.
Politeness, playing by the rules
don’t count if you are trailing
in the polls.
As it stands now, you don’t have a
chance.Be aggressive, you might then
have a fighting chance to win.

Why are the Democrats so concerned about witchcraft? – They have quite a few witches in their coven already, led by the Wicked Witch of the West herself – No prizes for guessing who.
Ms O’Donnell is not perfect but at least she is NOT one of those pompous, self-styled elite, out-of-touch, windbags like Harry, Barney, John Kerry, Chris Dodds, Charlie R, Maxine Waters…
Man – the list goes on and on and on (and frankly includes quite a few Republicans too – we need to work on those after we dismiss the Democrats)

Christine O’Donnell doesn’t need to act like a liberal to get our vote.
Christine O’Donnell has to be honest, decent, and follow the convictions she communicates to the American people.
Christine O’Donnell will get our vote if Christine O’Donnell deserves it. Honesty, integrity, love for America and respect for her fellow countrymen/women — those are a few starting points that we should be able to count on seeing from her, not the typical crap we’ve been getting from politicians year after year.

On October 29, 1999, two days before Halloween, O’Donnell made a light hearted reference to something that happened in HIGH SCHOOL and the lunatic left take leave of what’s left of their senses. If she had claimed to have been sexually active (bordering on promiscuous) since high school, admitted to smoking marijuana (like Obama) and using cocaine (like Obama) or had had an abortion or an affair with a married man or broken up a marriage she would no doubt be the darling of the left wing media elite and their drones and would be their next presidential candidate.

O’Donnell: I’m not a witch, but if I were, I’d twitch my nose and bring Reagan back.
And my own version: O’Donnell: I’m not a witch, but if I were, I’d twitch my nose and send the entire progressive, liberal, Socialist, Marxists commies to another country.

I’ve heard her talk about goofy things she’s done in her past. Can you clue us in a bit? I’m not in Delaware, so I can’t vote for her. But I sure can support her with my checkbook. Oh, the desperate libbies are out in force today. They are jumping all over O’Donnell because they sense the end is near. Too bad libs. You BLEW the 15 minutes of fame you had with Obama and now it’s payback time. Americans are SICK and TIRE of the out of control spending spree in Washington and it’s coming to an end on November 2nd. Attack O’Donnell all you want. It won’t matter. Hasta la vista, babies.

“her pretty smile”…….gee, that kind of thing means a lot to you shallow liberals, doesn’t it? Worries you a lot And I can understand that, what, with Cindy Shehan, Nancy Pelosi, and Maxine Waters representing your side. But the people on the right that think with their UPPER brain are more concerned about where she stands on important issues such as fiscal conservatism, smaller government, lower taxes, and individual rights. But you just keep on concentrating on her “pretty smile”…..she’ll bewitch you.

A refreshing ad that does not stoop to mud-slinging and character assassination. An ad that talks about the candidate and not about her opponent. And that kind of thing just drives you liberals crazy, doesn’t it? You just can’t stand the paradigm shift, can you?

Some of her lying is criminal.

It seems the only way the Democrats can win an election is to either trash the other candidate or steal the election. So, libs out there, when someone calls you “anti-American” understand that you DESERVE IT. Look how Obamao got elected. Trashed Alice Palmer and then Jack Ryan. Disgraceful, but only in a dump like Shitcago. Notice in O’Donnell’s case that NOTHING is about the issues and EVERYTHING is about what she engaged in, previously. Why couldn’t we hang Jeremiah Wright around Obama’s head? Doesn’t he believe THAT? Puh-lease. The Democrat party is anti-American and just as much an enemy of the US as Al Qaeda. That’s right, I said it.

I also see that representing the Marxist/Communist wing of the Democrat party, Chris Coons promised to bring Yale Divinity School “values.”
Mmmm, let’s see, When Chris was at YDS he was able to select, amongst the courses on offer…
WITCHCRAFT, QUEER STUDIES and BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY.
Despite repeated inquiries, Coons has REFUSED to deny that he studied WITCHCRAFT at Yale.
Of course, he’s only your average leftist NUT, so the Democrat media are not really that interested on what he did as a MARXIST ADULT.
Yes, in his twenties, while others were dying in the military fighting Marxists, this NUT actually decided to become a nmarxist.

The leftist hatred of anything not ‘them’ in in full force now, Christine. Just look at the name-calling and slander slinging being done by the ‘tolerant’ liberals, even here in the comments. Yes, they are running scared, Christine, because they fear what people like you and other true representatives of American citizens mean – real change in Washington. No more sleazy back-room dealing. No more Chicago-style thuggery blackmailing dissenting votes into submission. No more midnight congressional shenanigans pulling a fast one on the public to the tune of billions of dollars in new taxes. No more bailouts of huge corporations while the American citizen watches his small business – her life savings, their hard earned money dwindle away.
Yes, they are scared. They should be. November is coming.

This is absolutely amazing that there is so much ado about nothing,
I would think that we all had a learning curve as we got older and got
smarter as we got older. From reading the infantile spewing of some
of the commentors, evidently they have not gotten smarter, but are still
dumbos, dumb as rocks. And looks like most of them were asleep in high
school Federal Government Classes, if they went to high school. It
appears some may have got kicked out of grade school for ranting
and raving for being off subject. Plus being 18 and still in 5th grade.
So to be sorta fare, look at the problem for the true Patriots in the
Delaware primary. Vote for the very old RINO public sucker who has spent
forty years at the public trough or vote for youth, smaller government,
less taxes, and personal freedom, who incidentally is supported by
mainstream Americans who are Taxed Enough Already.
Does not take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Besides burning
of witches at the stake was outlawed in America years ago, except in Delaware for 2010 Senate Race.

Posted by: Tony | October 5, 2010, 8:15 am 8:15 am

Actions speak louder than words.
With that said, O’Donnell actively admits that she dabbled in witch-craft years ago, rejected it, and has spent years since embracing Christianity. She has not spent one penny hiding any of this, thus allowing the voters to scrutinize her past openly.
Obama, on the other hand, spent 20 years attending a hate filled church, not during his youth when he was still trying to figure out who he was, but as an adult, only to toss away that loyalty when it became a political burden. He has spent millions hiding his past (college records, long birth certificate, pass port, etc.) so as to keep the voter from scrutinizing his past. The ONLY tidbits he reveals is that which will illicit the emotional response he desires (like sympathy for his cocaine habit). He doesn’t even smoke in public. Even THAT he tries to hide.
This ad is effective because everyone can relate to her … EVERYONE … even if they don’t admit it in public.

Posted by: xJonx | October 5, 2010, 8:17 am 8:17 am

“And people in Delaware actually voted for her? What’s up with that???”
She drew 6 per cent of the total registered voter total in Delaware. Our primaries are closed, only Republicans could vote. Moderate Republicans didn’t show up in force, thinking Castle was not threatened by this lightweight candidate. Also, 7000 republicans had switched to Democrat to vote in the governor primary, and about half did not switch back.
O’Donnell’s base is mostly downstate retirees. She is not well received in New Castle County, which makes up the bulk of Delaware voters and workforce.
This ad will be offensive to most moderate Republican and Independent voters in Delaware, especially females.
Just from a design viewpoint, this ad is terrible. The funereal mood, the dark background and clothing…not inspirational at all. And she doesn’t even deliver her lines convincingly.
Watch her poll numbers sink like a rock.

I think it is a great concept, but terrible production with the black dress and black background. I would have shot this in a supermarket or Denny’s and put her much more casual clothes. I think the idea that everybody has life struggles and did things in high school and college is true. The point to emphasis is that Coons will raise taxes on everybody and support more and more intrusion into our lives. O’Donnell is a somewhat ordinary American. The last thing we need is more Ivy League in Washington.

The Democrats want to attack this woman for something she did as a child in high school, yet they try to cover up her opponents admission of Marxist beliefs as an adult. It’s sad that this country has come to a point where the news media covers for a admitted communist instead of doing their jobs of checking both candidates out. This is exactly how we wound up with an empty suit for a President.

Probably more than 95% of the people commenting here don’t really know a darn thing about Christine O’Donnell. They’re just repeating ad nauseam the attacks the Liberal press (including ABC) always mounts on conservative candidates when an election approaches. Just out of Saul Olinski’s book: “If you can’t beat your opponent with ideas, attack them personally and try to destroy their character and their credibility”. The good news is that with the exception of a few left-wing nuts who repeat idiotic slogans in these blogs, the vast majority of Americans is waking up and (finally) beginning to understand what’s been going on. November will give you a measure of this… I know it may be too much to ask of you, but you may want to try to think with your own head from time to time, you’d be amazed how liberating it feels.

O’Donnell made a comment on a comedy show a decade ago about playing witchcraft when she was in high school. Hillary Clinton hired psychics when she was in the White House and channeled the dead spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt. What is more outrageous… a Senate candidate that played witch when she was in high school or a Secretary of State that channels the dead spirit of a woman who was married to her cousin.

Many of these comments are so typical of the left…and tiresome. When you disagree…you immediately attack and try to label someone. Why not come up with an intelligent thought for a change…

I absolutely love the liberal mantra, “Failed policies of the past.” To justify changing from capitalism to socialism. And they call Christine a bimbo. 6 years of recession, does not history make. I will put my 200 years of capitalism and prosperity up against your 2 millenium of bankrupt socialist states any day of the week, if you want to talk about “Failed policies of the past.”

So, just what should a candidate for American elective office look and talk like?
This woman isn’t perfect, but she’s a citizen of adequate age with some education. No, she doesn’t look like a pointy headed Ivy League drone, bent upon wealth from the public dole, adn it is kinda refreshing, no matter what her personal flaw might be. Instead, does Delaware want a radical socialist as its choice. You decide, Delaware.

What is wrong with being a witch? I am a witch! I was raised Catholic and converted when I was in my late 30′s. The organizied religions do not respect women We are taught to honor our men, that they are the head of the household, Not in my book they are not. We are all equal So I started looking for a religion that agreed with my thinking and the Wiccan / Pagan religion was the one that was right for me. Other religions are no better than mine and mine is no better than theirs. but Wiccan is every bit as much a religion as the catholic or jewish religions are and we don’t discriminate against ANYONE! WHITE,BLACK,GAY,STRAIGHT,WOMEN,MEN,REPUBLICANS(OH GODDESS) OR DEMOCRATS.

see a correlation? Do you think Christine could do any worse? Well you are paying these clowns close to 200k a year to screw this country to a fare thee well. Read a really interesting novel called A Revolution by Dave Leonard …there is a better way to do this.

You people are nuts. You have the chance to have a normal person in office that seems to want to represent you in an honest way. All I see is personal attacks on stupid issues. Who among you could stand the scrutiny these polititicians go through and not come up with some embarrassing or dumb stuff? Answer: None of you! This is all you have on this woman? What about the ISSUES facing your state and this country? Did you visit her website and see what she stands for? If you did and can still be against her you are un-American because there is no way an American could be against the issues on which she stands. but no, you did not visit her website or otherwise check her out because you are following the old party line and attacking her on BS because THAT’S ALL YOU HAVE! You are sheep! You are shallow and selfish. You’ll get the representation you deserve. Unfortunately your decisions will effect the rest of the country. So go ahead Delaware, don’t elect this person on her merit, don’t elect her because she is a bright, caring ,patriotic American citizen, don’t elect her because she is a normal human being who made some poor choices and some bad decisions in her life but evolved and matured and relized her mistakes. Don’t elect her and let the rest of us down. What is wrong with America? – you are wrong with America. You fools will let us all down on election day.

Giving terrorist 5th amendment rights.
Supporting health care and adding 15 million new non payers that will ensure that all of us have substandard care.
Spending an additional Trillion or more to pay off more political supporters.
Maintaing the highest unemployment level for minorities and young people in 70 years
keepng the current school programs so we can have 60% of our poorest americans drop out of school.
Keeping the abortiuon level at current rates so we can reduce future progressive voters.
Taking over more american companies and screwing the investors and bond holders.
Maintain the hold on offshore drilling so we increase our dependence on forign oil and keep 25,000 americans out of work.
ensuring the success of Cap and trade so we can increase the cost of energy and further destroy our economy.
I’m sure this idiot would vote against these important programs so whatever you do please vote against this witch!!!!!!!!!!!

How about growing up a bit, and present arguments as to why the people of Delaware should vote for her opponent(s)? Any suggestions? Try a positive approach….what are the good things about her opponent? How about telling us why the Delaware voters should vote FOR the opponent…..oooh, ya don’t know, do you? And that’s an interesting thing about the liberals: They have nothing to brag about…no accomplishments, no progress. Liberals have the one cookie cutter template for anybody who is conservative and poses a threat to their agenda – they unleash a drumbeat of caricatures on them as dumb, stupid, brainless, crazy, nuts, extremist, radical, racist, homophobic, Nazi/supremacist etc. Reagan, Dan Quale, W Bush, Palin, and now O’Donnell has been receiving the cookie cutter makeover by the liberal media.

Posted by: kp | October 5, 2010, 11:51 am 11:51 am

It is amazing how much hatred comes from the left (and even ‘moderates’) who complain about the hatred on the right. It’s like the paranoid schizophrenic that thinks everyone is out to get him/her. Or like the dictator who tries to scare the population into believing that ‘the world’ is out to get ‘the people’ and ‘the people’ need the dictator to protect them (as he rapes and pillages the country). The problem and anger are within these leftists (ignore the man behind the curtain).
Just read the posts and SEE where the anger lies. In the words and hearts of those opposing the Right.
While people on the Right may oppose someone like Reed or Chris Coons, they do so with substance and reason without calling him a witch.

Bearded Marxist–Ummmhhh, you missed the boat on the real estate tax by quite a bit. First, the tax (actually a Medicare contribution) doesn’t apply to “all” sales of property–Only investment or business property (not homes). Second, it only applies to taxpayers with adjusted gross income (“AGI”) over $200K. Third, its not a tax on “sales” (or on sales price). The base is roughly equal to the lesser of the gain on sale or the amount by which a seller/taxpayer is over the $200K limit.

She certainly isn’t me…nor who I’d want in office. I don’t want just anybody. I am tired of attacks against the “elite”. I want elite in government. I want the best and the brightest.

Posted by: Carter Sherline | October 5, 2010, 3:41 pm 3:41 pm

its funny to think that the bulk of republicans in Delaware voted for this woman becuz she is not part of the “establishment”. u idiots…how do u think you’ll get anything done like that? she’s already proven she can’t hack working in the private sector, she can’t pay her own bills and taxes on time, and she lies/stretches the truth about schools she attended. so your reward is to get her elected as your senator? then she rules out making deals…gtfoh!!! what effective senator doesn’t make deals? not to mention…how far do u think a senator that campaigns against the “establishment” will do working with the same “establishment”? good job Delaware if she wins (*not*)

She turned me into a newt! But I got better.

Posted by: Commoner | October 5, 2010, 3:47 pm 3:47 pm

That’s just awful. Not because of who she is, but because it’s inept. NEVER repeat the negative is the first rule of politics. Imagine a toy company starting it’s ad by saying: I’m not a choking hazard to your child. And she waits until the final seconds to even identify herself. Sheesh!

Posted by: RT | October 5, 2010, 3:49 pm 3:49 pm

No your not me!! I work for a living, Have a college education, would not use my campaign funds to pay my rent, never been a witch and not a nitwit. If she wins that just shows you how stupid the Republicans are. Because she’s YOU.

Posted by: Not ME | October 5, 2010, 3:50 pm 3:50 pm

Any of those people that have the sack to get in the ring with O’Donnell then be my guest. Stop calling her a bimbo. You are REALLY barking up the wrong tree on that one. What is wrong with a WOMAN ESPOUSING HER IDEAS IN PUBLIC? They may not be yours, but that is no reason to try and denigrate her for having them. If you have an opinion other than she’s stupid then I applaud you. If not, then you are RIGHT, She is NOT you. SHE IS SMARTER!!!!!

Posted by: Wags | October 5, 2010, 4:37 pm 4:37 pm

I think that DC could use a person like O’Donnell. It is not like anyone on the current congress can really make any comments about paying back taxes. I mean, at least she paid them prior to getting threatened to get thrown out of office.
Keep up the fight Christine.

What about the hat?
And the nose?
She turned me into a newt.

Just remember when you vote where you
want our country to be and where it
is headed. I for one think we are headed in the right direction.
The Tea Party is to nuts to run anything
they are way out of touch of the American people, and they don’t and won’t care about the hard workers in this country. The Republican Party is
the party of No for everything that is good for the Middle Class Americans of this country and our families.
We must keep going in the right direction and keep the the health care
that President Obama fought so hard
to give to all American.
No more wars because we have leaders who do not care and just want an agenda
for themselves.
The Republican Party and the Tea Party
is not what American needs or wants.
Remember to vote and to keep us going
into the right direction. Don’t take
us back to where we came from.

She seems closer to me, (hey, I played with Ouiji boards in high school), than Harry, Nancy, Obama, or any of those big spenders in Washington spending my money! Or technically, China’s money.

Posted by: Kary | October 5, 2010, 5:20 pm 5:20 pm

How about that Alan Grayson Democrats? Is he YOU?

Posted by: Gary | October 5, 2010, 5:21 pm 5:21 pm

Some of these comments coming from the
Republican Party and The Tea Party
saying we are attacking her because
of what she said years ago, well if you
can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen. You attacked President Obama
for things he did when he was eight years old. Said horrible things and
attacked him worse than pit bulls.
O’Donnell and all the rest of the Tea
Party groupies are NUTS and INSANE
We as Democrats we just happen to be honest and the Republican Party and
The Tea Partiers like to lie.
Can’t take the truth then get out
and take her sickness with you.
She lies, steals, if it walks like a
witch, and speaks like a witch, it
must be a witch.

Posted by: Sharon | October 5, 2010, 5:25 pm 5:25 pm

I see so many libs posting on here… but it seems, as usual, all they can do is name call. “She’s a witch” seems to be a favorite… who cares what she did when she was a kid? Some of you Demotards probably have carnal knowledge of your sister or your family dog… do we care? No. What we do care about is running all the idiots, that are presently screwing/running this once great nation, the hell out of Washington. If the Democratic party would like to continue it’s existance, they may want to come up with REAL ideas to fix the country, instead of shouting names like a bunch of 5 yr olds.

Posted by: Project Thor | October 5, 2010, 5:26 pm 5:26 pm

Shhhh…here that?…that’s the Progressive agenda evaporating….all the name calling and false accusations will not stop the massive defeat of progressives in November…as Clinton said, it’s the economy stupid….

And the alternative to Christine O’Donnell is…a socialist, who wants to take all your money and redistribute it to everyone. I’ll take the lady.

Posted by: Rational | October 5, 2010, 5:38 pm 5:38 pm

The politics of personal destruction are at work here. It’s ugly when either party conducts such a campaign. Talk about the issues. Coons will likely vote lock-step with Obama. O’Donnell will likely present opposition. If you like where we are headed as a nation vote Coons. If not vote O’Donnell. That’s it.

Posted by: Clearly | October 5, 2010, 5:38 pm 5:38 pm

For those on the left and ANY voter that bash her or will not vote for her due to fringe issues from years ago let me ask you. What will you say when the country is bankrupt? Will you stop complaining about “washington”, “business as usual”, “spending”, and “debt” when you keep electing the same old style of politician? Fine don’t vote for O’Donnell based on some issue not related to policy or governance but then STOP COMPLAINING because you get what you deserve (ie vote for).

Vote for the Bearded illegal-loving Marxist!
Let’s bust the budget and sink the country!
Down with average citizens and taxpayers!
Up with Illegals, special treatment for Muslims, Union thugs, more job-killing Obama policies, and the new secret 3.8% real estate tax that was buried in Obamacare!
Please, don’t vote for Christine — we need MARXISTS!!!!

Posted by: Smelly Marxist | October 5, 2010, 5:56 pm 5:56 pm

Well I guess I know who won’t be voting for you……at least every pagan/wiccan/openminded person/person with any values……..and def not me. So who is gonna vote for the Phoney, wishy washing girl who is as fake as her pearl necklace?

Posted by: wiggot | October 5, 2010, 6:19 pm 6:19 pm

Delaware… Please wake up and recognize the real enemy. Do not be influenced by these drive-by email types that only spew hatred for THEIR cause. I have seen some of the emails that simply say… Help needed at NBC on a poll or to dispell someone if there was too many positives for their opponent.
As an outsider to your state, like so many who are posting here. Many are interested in your election with the publicity that has been generated.
Christine sure seems genuine and one of a kind to me. Why slam her so hard, probably a whole lot of outsiders doing that here online. They get their email marching orders, then, from all over the country, they show up en masse to trash a candidate they really have no qualms with, except for her political associations. You can just about always pick them out from the tone of their rhetoric. The tone of a hate-filled liberal is pretty much universal, easy to spot.
Christine, I wish you were in our state, we desperately need more candidates to represent the ideals you espouse. Next year many conservative democrats will be coming out of the woodwork to run for office. Many democrats are fed up, too.
Be certain, there are so many quiet normal voters in Delaware that feel just like you, and want you to be elected. They will show up Nov 2nd, the tea party groups are the visible ones, but the silent majority is underneath and only the tip of the iceberg shows. And then, many democrats have had enough, too. They will be supporting you, but the liberals and liberal media just don’t know how many there are, yet. They will find out soon.

Seriously? The Tea Party supported THIS?

Posted by: Russ | October 5, 2010, 6:55 pm 6:55 pm

For all of those who call her names and question O’Donnell’s qualifications: what are BHO’s qualifications? What about Joe Biden’s qualifications.
Remember Biden the plagiarizer? He did it on the campaign trail in ’88 and before that, he did it in law school. What a loser. O’Donnell is now worse than BHO and Biden.

Yes she is like me, unlike Coons who is an unAmerican Bearded Communist. Ask youself and then answer honestly, which is relivant, someone who dabbled in some way with witchcraft while in high school but now lives a christian life or someone who says he is a communist while an adult and has acted in polictial life consistent with that self proclamation. I couldn’t care less about someone’s personal, religious beliefs, I couldn’t care more about someone’s political beliefs. So the choice is clear, a communist or an america like us. Who do you choose?

@AbleAmerican. They sure did, but they are not dumb enough to defend him. He’s a dumb ass, Democrats acknowledged that instead of defending him. Republicans defend their doofuses all the way to the White House.

As I read over every comment on here I see nothing but hatred. Who cares if she was a witch? It seems there is a lot of non-tolerance and alot of judging going on this page. How many here would say they are christian and offended that she may/may not be a witch and yet not one hasn’t cast a stone. You have all judged another religion, another person.

The witch thing is a non-issue. Everybody does or says something they are embarassed about later in life.
The important thing now is, that she is willing to stand up to the big-gov libs who are bankrupting the country.

What’s so hard about being a congressman? Lobbyists write all the laws. Any idiot can cast a vote. None of them seem capable of balancing a budget. How bad could O’Donnell do, really?

Posted by: freethinker | October 5, 2010, 8:54 pm 8:54 pm

Christine O’Donnell doesn’t need to act like a liberal to get our vote.
Christine O’Donnell has to be honest, decent, and follow the convictions she communicates to the American people.
Christine O’Donnell will get our vote if Christine O’Donnell deserves it.
Honesty, integrity, love for America and respect for her fellow countrymen/women — those are a few starting points that we should be able to count on seeing from her, not the typical crap we’ve been getting from politicians year after year.

Hello America:
Doesn’t this outrank ANY inconsequential issue with Christine O’Donnell:
The Democrat opponent, Chris Coons, is a self-professed Marxist!!!
Marx•ism–Le•nin•ism
Definition of MARXISM-LENINISM
: a theory and practice of communism developed by Lenin from doctrines of Marx

what i could do with adds if they were calling me a witch. i would use my magic to remove the other candidate, and all the debt he has voted for and put me in his place with my ideas. work with it not against it.

A dark ad here. She should have been sitting at a desk, in front of bright, sun-shiny window, speaking up and reminding people of what they should fear – America’s ‘threat level’ from Obama Administration. She should be pointing out, that while her opposition is demonizing her; Obama’s policies demonize America – our Constitution and as well as every hard working citizen. Do they want to hear the ‘late, great’ USA, much less Delaware?
Step up with the truth and remind voters of the greatest threat and the worst political magic act ever assembled that is now recrafting America, as we speak. (Christine could have added a reasurrance as to her Faith in God – in America and our Constitution.)
This add makes me want to run; save for the alternative. . .

“Politicians who think spending, trading favors and back-room deals are the ways to stay in office. I’ll go to Washington and do what you’d do.”
She sounds like Obama during his Presidential campaign…
” you’re not even married, you dont have kids, you can’t even support YOURSELF properly and keep your own finances for YOURSELF, just you, in order and you think you’re qualified to represent an entire state??????”
This person has clearly never been to Delaware, she’s a PERFECT representation.

I believe it was one of our not far back presidents who consulted numerology or astrology before making certain decisions? The media could resurrect this from their cauldrons if they chose but I suspect they have some sorcery brewing from their own book of broadcast potions, spells and hauntings to stir things their way.

I dont think it takes a brain surgeon to figure out Christine’s point in this ad. She’s not exactly saying shes “you”. Shes saying shes like every other human on Earth. The reason she says shes “you” is to end the accusations that she was involved in “dark arts.”

You say she is crazy…hmmm whose dressing their children up like witches, ghosts, goblins, oh yes and killers, year after year we dress our little children in costumes and send them out to go door to door and demand candy. But that’s the American way. It creates jobs, retail sales boom, and yes oh yes, uncle sam gets a piece of the pie. Get the board out of your own eye before you start pluckin the speck out of someone elses.
