George’s Must-Reads: A GOP Majority of Obstruction or Compromise?

User Comments

I certainly hope it’s obstruction and not compromise on the ambitious expansion of the federal government and it’s increasingly intrusive and coercive influence on our everyday lives. I hope someone obstructs this administration’s redistribution of wealth through taxpayer funds from the private sector to benefit public workers and unions which do nothing to create real jobs or expand the economy. I hope someone obstructs these unelected government bureaucracies from imposing more business killing, job killing cost mandates and regulations when we desperately need to bring down the unemployment rate. Obstruct away.

Hey George,
As President Obama travels to all these Democratic events, who pays for his travel expenses, the tax payers??

Eugene fails to ention that despite the all the protest from Republicans the President has had a cake walk in regards to getting what he wants. health care reform, stimulus, taking control of student loans etc. What flabbergast most of us is the manner in which these bills were passed;2500 hundred pages of legislation that we were allowed to “read” before it was passed (read not understand-no plain talk here) or stimulus funds that went straight to prop up over promised union pension plans and stimulus jobs approaching 250k a piece (a million each in california).
We see a President and Congress that has siezed upon the opportunity to not let a crisis pass to inflict their will upon the people leaving families without jobs, without homes, dependednt upon the government for the food they eat and charging their beliefs to the credit cards of the unborn.
Pathetic.

The republicans have been compromising for years, therein lies the problem. I’m not voting for a republican in order to advance this socialist agenda that the democrats are trying to shove down our throats. If the GOP fails this go round, they’re through for good!

If the GOP wins control, the obstruction will become the Dems, of course.
They refuse to admit that, but that is exactly what will happen. There is no more partisan person in Washington, than Obama.

I hope they keep saying NO, and unfund all the bills he passed, 125 of them and over 3,700 new rules and regulations that are killing us out here.

“A GOP Majority of Obstruction or Compromise?” Is this a trick question?

the only obstructionists to the will of the people have been the politically correct democrats. lets see how cooperative the dems will be with the republican agenda which treats every legal american citizen as an equal.lets see how cooperative the democtrats will be when it comes to changing the retiremnet ages for soc security, fed unions and state unions.lets see how cooperative the dems will be when the borders are to be shut down and unemployment doesnt become a career.ditto on health care

Redistribution? 39% of America’s wealth belongs to the top 1%. The average big-company CEO made 29x what his avg. union worker made in 1970. He makes 400x that now.
Yes, employers should benefit from creating jobs, but this is NOT the Middle Ages and workers should not get a feudal system income for doing that job and enriching the employer.

This is the GOP that torpedoed the creation of a Commission to make recommendations on how to cut the deficit! Repub. sponsors withdrew their names and then voted against it even though they claim it is one of their core principles. The modern day GOP does not compromise. They will try to leverage any power they get to win back the White House. Expect lots of bogus investigations and other harassments of Obama – just what they did to Clinton. Politics is war for them, it is not compromise.

What goes around comes around..When the GOP who did nothing to help this country now want to pass their agendas to further destroy the middle class and poor..Obama has the veto. Veto everything they do. We do not want less regulation and more socialism for the rich, enough is enough. Those of you that think the GOP will help..go look at ‘ ‘ take a look, hold them accountable for their lies.

In the grand scheme of things, why is our President flying all over the country on the taxpayers money in Airforce one just to campaign for his party while we have more serious matters at hand. He should be doing his job not trying to get his friends re-elected. This Presidence spends more time out of the oval office than in it.
