Obama is neither an economic illiterate nor a jackass. He is a socialist idealogue, hellbent on income redistribution from the achievers to the whiners, and is using every means within his office and power to accomplish it. This behavior is more akin to monarchy than any other governmental system.

When tax rates are lower, the disincentives to move money are lowered or taken away. You can put Capital Gains taxes at 60% and say that is going to raise tax revenue but it won’t because people will not buy or sell the assets as often because of the tax consequences. Lower the rates and the number of taxable transactions grows, thus revenue grows.
Why is that so hard to understand to you freakin’ progressive liberals.
You all think that if you raise taxes on cigarettes to $1 a pack and 100,000 packs were sold last year that you are guaranteeing $100,000 in taxable revenue next year. NOOOOOOOO. People will change their habits to accomodate the tax implications. Maybe people go buy tax free cigs at an Indian Smoke shop. Maybe they quit smoking altogether. All of the estimates that tax revenue will go down are based on status assumptions. If rates stay down and promised to stay down, money will start moving again. It is not just that we are spending too much. Revenue to the government is down because money is not moving. That part is Obama’s fault. People with money are afraid of the tax implications on their money and they are sitting on it.

The “rich” will find ways to keep on going: they’ll eat out less, furlough household help (lawn service, dry cleaning, maid service), and they’ll buy groceries at Wal-mart or Costco. Who will get hurt? The people who work in restaurants, small businesses focused on services (lawn care, housekeeping, laundered and pressed shirts).
True, they’ll have less “disposble” income, but in the end, it will be less income poured into the economy, meaning fewer investments and fewere discretionary spending to keep retail and other small businesses afloat. In the end, any tax gains will be eclipsed by new persons claiming jobless benefits.
It’s time for a fair tax. Not equal giving, but equal sacrifice. America is a land of equal opportunity, not equal outcome.
That’s the message you hear from most tea party candidates. And for all of us who are all of a sudden “rich” (according to Obama), the message resonates. The “rich” are people like me, and while I’ll be the first to admit I’m blessed, if you visited my home, you would not think of me a wealthy.

My 12 year old daughter calls Obama a Jackass too- apparently its a common chant in her school yard these days. It’s a bit unnerving to hear children using such language, but it would send the wrong message to scold children for speaking the truth. It’s actually encouraging to see that the next generation may remember what a clown Obama was when they’re old enough to vote- if today’s adults had a more vivid recollection of the Carter years, perhaps this wouldn’t have happened.

Whatever you may think of the merits of invading and occupying two Islamic countries, most of the democratic leadership including both clintons supported the invasion/occupation. Obama said nothing at the time of the invasion (opportunist maybe) but later turned against the Iraq war when weapons of mass destruction were not found. Obama supported the war in Afghanistan. In fact, he supports the continuing Afghan mission so much that more Americans have been killed in Afghanistan since Barak Obama has been elected than in the entire eight years of Bush’s two terms in office. Obama doesn’t think too much about questioning any of those billions spent invading and or occupying Islamic lands either. In truth, he’ll probably spend more than Bush ever dreamed.

I’m sure he used the argument that by making sure the richest people keep their money, it will result in more investment and more jobs and a better life for everyone. I used to listen to Rush every day. I voted for Bush (twice). I even had a Bush bumper sticker. I actually believed the argument that Rush continues to make. I haven’t watched ABC for many years and will make a special point of avoiding it in the future. I have probably watched any form of NBC or CBS news programming for a grand total of less than 1 hour in the previous 2 years. As a child, I watched and respected Harry Reasoner and I really liked Peter Jennings and relied on his reporting. That was years ago. I listen to Rush Limbaugh for a few minutes nearly every weekday morning, and I’m a Rush 24-7 member. I am a post-graduate educated female with a liberal arts background whose grandmother was one of the 6 founding members of the American Communist party. I am a multi-professional woman successful in each of my 3 chosen careers and a single mother. I will not listen to any of the network news, and will only watch MSNBC and CNN for laughs and amazement for the forseeable future. Not everyone who detests your constant lies is an “ignorant, racist, redneck Tea Partier.” Some of us are highly educated, and dangerous, and furious beyond any redemption. The only solution is for you to quit, and for this man who calls himself President and believes those of us he has alienated are apparently “racists” to do so as well.

Liberals….be honest for once. The TAX CUTS are not TAX CUTS nor are they or do they have anything to do with Obama. In case you forgot, these tax cuts are the same tax cuts you (the left) foamed at the mouth and fought hard enough to get a sunset on them. Which takes place in January of 2011. There are absolutely no tax cuts coming, at best the rates will stay the same if the EXTEND the BUSH TAX CUTS. Tax credits and one time DEALS are a scheme and mean nothing. A pittance that goes away. Bush did, and you liberals howled, what is true meaningful relief and that was a rate reduction across the board. Those rate reductions are going away thanks to liberals crying at the time and now, as they the date approaches, they (with the help of lackeys like ABC) twist language and call extending the current tax rates (that Obama opposed) as an Obama Tax Cut. To the 45% on the bottom: you dont pay taxes and probably get more back than you paid in. That’s Welfare. To everyone else, if you expect the Government to take less from you you are insane. TS60805: You’re right, the “pay no taxes” bit was an exaggeration. It was in response to someone that called out a specific government expenditure that they disagree with. I wanted to go on about how we can’t pick and choose how our individual tax money is spent, and we really can’t complain when some of our tax money is spent in a way that we don’t like. If we could, nothing except the bare essentials would be accomplished (yes, that does appeal to some people).
As to pork, wasteful spending, etc. I don’t know of anyone other than the recipients of the spending and the politicians that receive large campaign donations really like those things. That’s not a Republican/Democrat or conservative/liberal issue. That’s a decent person/corrupt jerk issue.
I am not calling for class warfare, and I don’t (automatically) dislike people that are richer than me. But I do not buy the argument that reducing the income tax of the top 2% (or whatever %) is actually good for the rest of the country, and that’s the argument that I’ve heard Rush make. While I don’t have the evidence to prove causation, I can say that the Bush tax cuts, which were very generous to the top X%, do not appear to have led to any benefit to the middle and/or lower class, as promised. The rift between the middle class and the upper class continues to grow. Did the tax cuts have anything to do with that? I don’t know. But I do know that cutting taxes for the top X% did not do all the wonderful things for the economy that Rush claims necessitate the tax break under discussion now.
As to the timing of the tax cut vote, I have no idea. Maybe the Democrats are up to dirty tricks, maybe they’re not. The whole us-vs.-them party system screws everyone at some point.

I’m sure we will soon see the unbiased, high-road nature of abcnews.com in a blog listing the various names used by liberal Democracts politicians, entertainers and journalists to describe conservatives, Catholics, Evangelicals, tea party members, Southerners, Middle America, etc.

I don’t know what ideology they subscribe to, but I do know this, that Greenspan, Summers, and Rubin all worked together to stop Brooksley Born from regulating all those synthetic derivatives by the CFTC.
Bernanke knows what happened, but he can’t seem to remember what systemic risk is, nor what role the GSEs, namely Fannie and Freddie, played in it by his latest performance in a finance committee that Born was a big part of.
What’s sad is that ol’ Ben didn’t have any problem describing the upcoming mess in Hawaii in 2007.
I don’t care if they’re libs or conservatives; Obama hired ‘em, and retained them, and that was just plain stupid.

From the fact that the govt. was collecting more money than it was spending – hence a surplus.
It might surprise you to learn that during the Clinton admin. the govt was collecting a surplus of tax money. There was still debt but we were collecting enough money to begin paying down the debt instead of adding to it.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough political will on the part of either party to spend that money on making a significant reduction of the debt. So like ALL politicians they spent the money on other projects.
But the fact remains that under Clinton we took in a “surplus”.

The country is in a mess and Lumpball’s rich friends took their tax breaks and because they could not get more, they went home. You are forgetting the ‘fact’ that Clinton’s first two years were a debacle, fiscally, and politically.
You are also omitting that it was Republicans who held the majority for 6 of Clinton’s 8 years in office.
You are also giving no credit where credit, and the Constitution is due: that it is CONGRESS, not the Executive, that delivers the budget.

Post-American: I wish I could spontaneously and miraculously understand the costs/benefits of every issue as you seem to do. If you’ve mastered this skill, please let me in on the secret. No, the conservatives I know have basically sacrificed our weekends and evenings studying and researching issues such as healthcare, cap and trade, economic policies, etc., because we at first sensed that something was dangerously awry with the legislation being pushed by this Congress and administration, and we needed to determine the truth. Thank heavens for the new media and reference materials available through the internet which allow an interested reader to easily go to the source material (e.g. healthcare legislation) and to analysis provided by various subject matter experts (on both sides of the issues). I used to rely on the “Mainstream Media”, but the more I research an issue, the more I realize they are supplying the public with a mediocre analysis at best and blatantly dishonest and one-sided coverage as the norm. Yes, I am disgusted by the liberal media, but it is not because of talking points that are fed to me, but it is based upon my own study of various issues in an effort to make informed decisions on how I should vote. Believe me, I would love to go back to my life pre-Pelosi, Reid, and Obama, but I feel I owe it to future generations of Americans to take a stand for what I see as disastrous policies. And, I can’t honestly debate an issue if I don’t know the facts.

I agree with Rush. The tax increase will have bad repercussions. Whatever individuals or organizations that get hit will have less money to spend, invest, or hire. They’ll do what you or I would do: cut back. The government can print their own money (and do) if they need it. It’s morally wrong for the government to continue to tax folks excessively and pass the money to political cronies and essentially money laundering organizations.

In the 90s, the Republican congress and a Democratic president worked hard to get the country on the right “fiscal” track. That was all undone by President Bush.
The reality is that we’d better get serious about paying down our debt (instead of pandering to the left or the right) or else the interest is going to destroy us. That means SPENDING CUTS AND TAX INCREASES for everyone. Either we start paying now, or we will pay a terrible price in the near future.

There were many things that undid our economy, and they can’t all be laid at the foot of Bush, or the Republicans, or Democrats.
Our institutions have failed us. The Fed, created for the purpose of price normalcy and currency valuation has failed miserably. Our finance and banking committees are jokes, and are led by politicians who do not understand things, and leave it up to unaccountable experts and economists who are not accountable to the people.

I say we must rid ourselves of a few myths, namely that there is a correlation between unemployment and the aggregate demand for goods and services. There isn’t any, and Hayek long ago proved this.
Ya know why I gave up on McCain in the last election? Because he wanted to stop an entire election and run to the very entity that was mainly responsible for the massive debt and policies that led to systemic risk and liquidity problems.
Our politicians wake up every morning and say, ‘government is the answer’, without even knowing what the question is.
We can’t match Irelands 13.5% on taxes, but our corporations cannot hire people, and small business owners are not going to take on risk if there is no reward because our government has a sweet tooth.

Well, in 10 years, 93% of all federal revenue will be taken up by entitlement spending. It’s already at 65%.
I’m thinking both Gates and Buffett realize that the Bush cuts won’t make any difference, and not because they agree with the president.
We might as well face it; there is no way that this country can sustain this level of government.

No wonder kids/teens(like me) are stealing narcotic pain pills and chugging any cold med. we can get our hands on to stay high. This is what we are hearing and we’re afraid of most of you.(parents, teachers, leaders) There is literally no one for us to look up to. Being young and watching grown ups act like kids too is scary. Bush increased the Federal Subsidies Catalog an astounding 28% in 6 years. There were 1401 programs when he entered office, and by the end of 2006, there were 1812.
I’d gladly vote for anyone who would be willing to cut a huge chunk out of these programs.

Rush laughs at his minions. He laughs while he gets you to vote for tax cuts for the rich. If tax cuts for the rich were doing any good Bush would have been successfull in creating record net jobs. I understand completely.
I’m afraid that public sector unionizaton, both state and federal are going to be the next battlegrounds over the next decade or so.
Like other entitlements, we simply cannot afford them anymore.
Politicians are going to have to deal with this sooner or later.
Maybe not as soon as we’d like, but we both know that eventually they will.

I do not watch or listen to people who lie. If I knew someone lied to me repeatedly, I wouldn’t watch or listen to him for one minute. That said, I have listened to Rush Limbaugh since he went national in 1988. Since retiring, I have hardly ever missed listening to one of his shows. P.S. I avoid watching and listening to news shows on ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN for the reason stated above.

So guess what people will do? They’ll pay the freaking fine. And what happens to the private sector companies? Well, geez – I guess they go belly up because they won’t have customers (who are busy paying fines instead). So the idea that you get to keep your insurance program turns out to have a big honkin’ caveat: You get to keep your insurance program IF your insurance program continues to exist. If not, well your soul is up for grabs.
This is intentional; and not an unintended consequence. It is planned. It is diabolical. And it is for this reason that I say Rush didn’t go far enough.
There has never been, in the entire history of America, a worse man in the Oval Office than the current Putz-in-Chief.
I saw a poll that said 90+% of “blacks” love Their Messiah. So how is that not racist? And if 90% of blacks love Their Messiah, does that mean that 90% of blacks are actually lovers of socialism and communism?
You cannot love The Messiah and what he stands for and love America at the same time. The two are mutually exclusive. If you love America, America is calling to you now – to defend her against the Enemies from Within – and that’s more than just The Putz Messiah. He was arrested for doctor shopping, but apparently bought his way out of having a permanent criminal record, although he was supervised by a probation officer for 18 months while he had to be in drug treatment and psychiatric care.

Jackasses across the globe are demanding an apology for this slanderous insult to their intelligence.

I work in a healthcare setting dominated by women, most of whom voted for Obama. They have done a 180. I restrain myself by not saying “I told you so”. Rush is being kind. Most people I talk to call him names I can’t repeat here. He is a dismal failure. Joe wilson was right about you Mr. Obama. You lie. I’ll change my tone when I save $2500 on my health insurance premiums next year.

I wish we could find a way of getting the point across that the current occupant of the office is criminally unfit to occupy it without it splashing on the office itself.

Many are criminals, most have lost their integrity, all have been there too long, and the list goes on. I’m amazed that the liberal media is so impotent. Being a journalist used to be a prestigious position…now…its a job that has been discredited and bears no honor. It’s sad. Being a journalist today is synonymous with being weak, boorish and lazy — and censoring. America is the citizen’s country — not elected officials, not illegal immigrants, not criminals. Rather, it is owned by law abiding people. People of integrity who believe in the US Constitution, honor, helping their neighbors (through their own compassion not government mandates) and individuality. And while Americans are loving and caring, they also expect accountability. We teach our children about responsibility and humility. I agree with you and its time for Americans to stand up and for what’s right and great about our country and ourselves and insist that our government and those elected to the political class do so as well. We need to vote for people based on their record, not some sound byte, or how popular they seem to be with some other politician or advocate. WE have the ability to thoroughly research our candidates now…and share that information with our friends and colleagues… the internet. We can do the necessary research ourselves, quickly and efficiently, and take a few minutes to share that information with others. Let the background and public record of every candidate speak for them, not the hype of their publicity department and political spin doctors. We MUST use our critical thinking skills to weed out the liars and posers, those skilled at misinformation and skewed perspective. We live in perilous times when those who wish to take our freedoms from us feel empowered to do so because they connive and cheat to do so, chiseling away at the core values and elements of American society, both from without and, sadly and shamefully, from within. We must reject and defeat them as a nation. Our culture is under attack. What it means to be an American. The class of people who like to embrace being a “citizen of the world” are more than willing to resign their rights and freedoms as American citizens, and ours along with them, to accomplish that misguided and irrational goal. No nation in the world exists without strong borders and a strong defense. For those blaming the last administration for the problems I have I totally agree. Bush should have had a national address on the Fannie Mae and Freddie situation when it was obvious both were in trouble and thrown down the gauntlet. Instead he let Chris Dodd and Barnie Frank have their way. Truth is it was too late by then anyways.
Blaming Bush for our problems is very simplistic. I can just as simplistically say the Clinton policy of forcing banks to lend to non qualified lenders or the Democrats taking over both the House and Senate in Jan of 2007 were to blame also. Again, simplistic.
What I can say for certain is taking more money away from the general public in the forms of higher taxes, higher fees, a weaker dollar, more unfunded mandates and a new health care plan that will INCREASE costs will not result in a NET positive increase in jobs. Anyone who thinks so is a jackass.

One would think Stern would address this, but chances are he won’t. Climate change seems to be more about giving the government control over our lives, than about phony climate crises. Indeed, Stern has made it clear that he thinks international agencies, such as the United Nations, should take the lead on forcing climate change down the throats of national governments. Stern has even gone as far as to propose that world powers form an “E8” group, who would meet yearly and dictate environmental policy to the rest of the world. What about national sovereignty? Clearly, Stern feels that’s an outdated concept.
Stern is also the nutcase behind the Cap and Trade proposal which, even an analysis by Obama’s own Treasury Department concluded, would cost American taxpayers up to $200 billion dollars—just what we need for today’s economy!

Chief Diversity Officer, Federal Communications Commission – Mark Lloyd
While Obama is playing coy with his plans to shut down conservative talk radio, we know what his real intentions are, due to his appointment of Mark Lloyd. Lloyd’s view of the 1st Amendment is shocking:

This freedom is all too often an exaggeration. At the very least, blind references
to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination
of other communications policies. “[T]he purpose of free speech is warped to protect
global corporations and block rules that would promote democratic governance.”
Like many of Obama’s appointees, Lloyd worked for George Soros, the foreign billionaire who funds anti-America groups. He seems to be enamored with dictators and has even publicly praised Venezuelan Communist dictator Hugo Chavez’s “incredible…democratic revolution.” He also wants to use the Fairness Doctrine to “balance” talk radio and believes there are too many white people in the media. He has written that unless there are “more people of color, gays and other people…we will not change the problem.” One of his solutions to “balance” the media is to fine conservative radio stations up to $250 million and give the proceeds to National Public Radio. Get ready for censorship like America has never seen before.

Attorney General – Eric Holder
Like most of Obama’s appointees, Holder is a member of the American Constitution Society, a ACLU-type group dedicated to destroying much the Constitution in order to make it “relevant” to the modern world. And as with many Obama’s appointees, he is obsessed with race, even to the point of refusing to pursue the prosecution of two Black Panther thugs who intimidated white voters at a polling place. The thugs were screaming things at the voters such as, “You are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker.” If whites had harassing blacks at a polling place, they would still be sitting in a jail within days. Nevertheless, Holder apparently doesn’t mind undermining the democratic process.
He is currently challenging the rights of states to enact citizen verification procedures previously approved by two federal courts. In other words, Holder wants to make it easier for illegal aliens to vote, which also happens to be ACORN’s goal. This comes as no surprise; Holder has been undermining the rule of law for most of his career. While serving as the #2 official in Clinton’s Justice Department, Holder was the driving force behind the effort to pardon members of the notorious Puerto Rican terrorist group, FALN, a group that engaged in over 130 attacks in the USA, killing six people. By refusing to carry out justice against the Black Panthers and the Hispanic FALN terrorists, he was clearly pandering to these two racial groups for political reasons. So this is what Obama’s Justice Department will be all about: racial pandering first and justice last. Speaking at an ACS convention last November, Holder announced that America would soon be “run by progressives.” At least he’s honest.

Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel – Dawn Johnson
Johnson is the former legal director for the National Abortion Rights Action League, a group on the extreme left of the abortion debate. They oppose any restrictions on abortion for any reason, at any time of pregnancy—even late term abortions. She has also worked for the ACLU. Johnson has argued that abortion is all about “sexual freedom.” That’s right: have sex with whoever you want and whenever you want and if you get pregnant, get an abortion. This same mentality has led to skyrocketing sexual disease rates, unwanted pregnancies, and untold sorrow. In a brief filed while working with NARAL,Johnson cited a source that said forcing women to bear children was “disturbingly suggestive of involuntary servitude, prohibited by the 13th Amendment, in that forced pregnancy requires a woman to provide continuous physical service to the fetus in order to further the state’s asserted interest.” In other words, being pregnant is comparable to being a slave.

United States Ambassador to United Nations – Susan Rice
Even though she served on the National Security Council under President Clinton, Rice seems to have slept through the last two decades. She is fanatically pro-UN and wants the United States to work closely with the United Nations in order to carry out all kinds of humanitarian and military actions, seeming unaware that the UN has never been supportive of US interests. They don’t stop wars; they don’t sanction terrorist regimes, and their internal corruption is so pervasive they can’t even carry out humanitarian missions. But rather than hold the UN responsible for its obvious failings over the years, Rice blamed Bush for being “unilateral” and for “stiff-arming our partners.” She even sits on the board of the UN Fund for UNICEF, an agency which has been repeatedly caught giving aid to terrorists, and during the Cold War, assisting communist insurgents.
More seriously, she is overly cautious in regard to fighting terrorism. The former Ambassador to Sudan implicated Rice as the person who bungled the opportunity to take out Osama bin Laden when Sudanese officials offered him to the USA on a silver platter during the Clinton years.
She rejected their offer. There’s a good chance 9/11 could have been avoided if Rice had accepted the Sudanese offer. Apparently, even though she worked for the NSC, she didn’t regard Al-Qaeda as a threat. No wonder we were hit on 9/11. And now she’s our UN Ambassador? I wonder whose interests she will serve…probably the UNs.

She also called the successful surge in Iraq a “feckless plan” and seems completely blind to the successes we have had in the war on terrorism. But we shouldn’t be surprised; she used to work for a foundation funded by the foreign America-hater George Soros. It’s hard to believe Brooks is now deciding defense policy.

For example, she was aware that former Green Czar Van Jones (who withdrew) had a long history of involvement in Communist Party causes, but still said she was “delighted to be able to recruit him into the White House.” She had to have known, because she married into a family with a pedigree of Communist Party involvement. Her father-in-law, Vernon Jarrett, worked closely with Obama mentor and Communist Party leader Frank Marshall Davis in a number of Communist Party front groups during the Cold War years. Valerie married Vernon’s son in 1983 and later became chief of staff for Mayor Richard Daley, where she was a key player in perhaps America’s most corrupt big city political machine. Obama does not go forward with anything without her counsel.

Bansal is very close to Obama; she acts behind the scenes advising him regarding the selection of federal judges. She is on the far left side of the judicial spectrum and is a leader of the misnamed American Constitutional Society, a group that believes in a “living Constitution” and works to “debunk” the “original intent” concept. Indeed, ACS’s view that the Constitution should constantly change undermines the very purpose for having a constitution. Needless to say, the ACS is obsessed with criminal rights, illegal alien rights, terrorist rights, and other phony rights. ACS is America’s main networking group for far-left attorneys and is where Bansal is recruiting many of Obama’s judicial nominees.
Bansal is also a member of the “critical race theory (CRT)” school of legal thought that boils all legal concepts down to racist conspiracies and that racism permeates all aspects of American society. Indeed, she even co-authored a paper claiming that republicanism is based upon racist consensus. In other words, she believes the entire concept of representative democracy is based upon racist assumptions. Indeed, CRT advocates even believe the founding of America was primarily due to racial motivations.
Judge Richard Posner of the United States Court of Appeals called CRT supporters the “lunatic core” of “radical legal egalitarianism.” Bansal is a lunatic and her appointment will ensure that Obama’s judicial appointments will be far more about “diversity” than they will be about competence.

My first indication that we had elected a jackass came when he insulted Nancy Reagan, when speaking as the president-elect. Rush speaks the truth. I just starting the new book TRICKLE UP POVERTY by Michael Savage…those of us who are middle class are moving towards poverty at an alarming rate. My husband and I are college-educated, work full time, longer hours and are getting nowhere. My husband has taken an almost 50% pay cut and we’re happy he has a job. Our kids futures will be bleak if our country doesn’t wake up. Stop the madness, vote out all the big spenders, liars in DC.
