ABC News’ Jonathan Karl reports: In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Christine O’Donnell for the first time addressed the dust-up between her and Bill Maher. Maher promised to air clips of her appearances on “Politically Incorrect” from the 1990’s every week until she appeared on his program.
“You know it’s funny because originally when his show reached out to me I said I’d love to see what I can do to get it in my schedule,” O’Donnell told me.
“Whether it’s with terrorists overseas as a senator sitting in the foreign policy or guest on a talk show, I won’t give in to threats,” she said.
I pressed her if it was a done deal she would not make an appearance.
“He did a disservice,” she told me. “Bill Maher did a disservice.”
Maher did not immediately respond to a request for comment by ABC News. Last month, after airing the first of the O’Donnell clip on his HBO program, Maher jokingly compared what he was doing to a hostage situation.
“I’m just saying, Christine, it’s like a hostage crisis, every week you don’t show up, I’m going to throw another body out,” he said.
