Sarah Palin Will Run In 2012 ‘If There’s Nobody Else To Do It’
ABC News' Mary Bruce reports:
In an interview to air tonight on “Entertainment Tonight,” Sarah Palin admitted there’s a possibility she will run for president in 2012 saying, "if there's nobody else to do it, then of course I would believe that we should do this."
If, however, there is a candidate "who can do the job," Palin said they would have her full support.
On deciding whether or not to run, the former Alaska governor told Entertainment Tonight, “it's going to entail a discussion with my family [and] a real close look at the lay of the land, to consider whether there are those with that common sense, conservative, pro-Constitution passion, whether there are already candidates out there who can do the job … or whether there's nobody willing to do it, to make the tough choices and not care what the critics are going to say about you, just going forward according to what I think the priorities should be."
Not all in the Republican party agree that Palin is ready for a run at the White House. Karl Rove questioned this week if she has the "gravitas" for a presidential run and Sen. John McCain said it was too early to endorse his 2008 running mate.

News reporting is not really news anymore. Most news is just some left commie liberal facist natzies opinion. We’ll see how you lefties at ABC like the next 2 years. I’m glad Obama likes vactions. He should plan several. Preferably to commie countries where he fits in. As for Carl Rove, he’s just a dumbass. Carl thinks gravitas is what keeps us from flying off the planet. That’s gravity Carl. If Bush had all that and a bag pork rinds then, why did you and him let the dems push the financial wagon over a cliff. I say move washington to Kansas where people have more common sense. As for ABC, you people need shut down for crimes against the state.

There would have to be a total absence of living, breathing Republican candidates (who are even close to being Presidential) for the Republicant Party to choose Sarah Palin as their nominee. As an Obama supporter, I would absolutely love it though. Obama 2012!!

All you intolerant, mean spirited and nasty bloggers with the Palin Derangement Syndrome and ABC need to remember what a nineteenth century political boss once remarked about a little known much maligned Illinois politican -” Gentlemen, one thing I do know about is politics and in that uncouth railsplitter you see one of the shrewdest, slickest politicans that ever hoodwinked a yokel mob!”. His name was Abraham Lincoln and her name is Sarah Palin, and she like him will eventually be President! Never, never discount or underestimate her!

OMG Comparing Lincoln to Palin biggest laugh I’ve had all day…As a woman I find her ignorant and offensive. She’s not smart enough, nor tolerant enough to run for anything. As we all watch the Tea Party candidates falter and slip in the polls even with massive campaign contributions from Foreign corporations, I’m still shaking my head as to the fascination people hold for her. She’s not knowledgeable on issues or politics in general. She’s nothing more than a sound bite for the fringe. And Rove knows the destruction and divide of the Republican party hinges on Palin and her extremism. Go ahead Sarah…Run for POTUS..please

Could you imagine a Palin/O’Donnell ticket it 2012. I think Obama wouldn’t even need to campaign. If the Republicans cant do better than a McCain/Palin choice then they will hand another four years to Obama and from what the Republicans are offering now in the way of solution,(None) I will as a Independent stay with Obama. However if the Reps come up with something or Hillary run against Obama which I doubt, I may have to rethink things.

Chance – WOW. GRAVITY keeps us on the ground, GRAVITAS – is usually a way to say that someone acts or handles themselves in a serious or mature way. ROve – whom I cannot stand – was saying that Palin’s reality show does not put her in a serious lite with potential voters. If Palin were to run, I think a lot of Moderates, not just liberals, would vote Democratic. The Uber -right wing illustrated by the likes of Palin, Miller and O’Donnell are too scary.

If you read her comments carefully, she said if there is no one else who SHE thinks can do what SHE thinks needs to be done and how SHE thinks it should be done.. That being said, the idiot will probably run. I pray to God she does, then maybe she will have to come up with at least a few ideas of her own and not just spew vile venom at Obama. Either way if she runs it’s a sure win for the Dems.

The tea party does seem to have people fired up, like the villagers in an old Frankenstein movie. After they burn down the village, they will find the monster still alive and stronger than ever, thanks to their stupidity. Sarah Palin could not finish one term as the Governor of a State with only 600,000 people. It was too tough She was all too eager to cash in on the $50,000 speaking engagement fees, and book royalties. She sold out her commitment to the people of Alaska. Why would it be any different as President? There are plenty of potential candidates waiting to exploit her lack of dedication to anything other than the dollar.
Posted by: Greg | October 28, 2010, 12:08 pm 12:08 pm
I suspect that if Sarah runs completely unopposed, she will have about a 30% chance of winning. What we really need is someone of intelligence and good character who is capable of running our country and restoring respect to the office of President. The “rock star” type of candidate has been and will always be a complete failure.

This is not surprising. Palin runs on a ‘mandate of the people’ premise. She is basically saying she is in – if enough people ‘push’ her to do it.
She’s far better positioned in the Tea Party..she doesn’t have to produce anything but soundbites. Its easy to say ‘cut spending and lower taxes’ – but its a lot harder to actually make it happen.
Posted by: brian | October 28, 2010, 12:19 pm 12:19 pm
She didn’t even make it through a single term as governor of Alaska. Everything else aside, why would anyone vote for someone who couldn’t and didn’t finish the job the people elected her to do?
Posted by: Lee | October 28, 2010, 12:23 pm 12:23 pm
I’m a conservative and this person CANNOT run. This person not only lacks the gravitas but the brain power to govern. Winning elections isn’t a popularity contest, which is what she (and many others) claim Obama’s election indicates. We need someone of intelligence that can lead, articulate a vision, inspire other leaders and gain consensus. She fails on all counts. If the right wants to lose all its gains this year, it should get behind a cartoon character like Palin.
Posted by: Paul R. | October 28, 2010, 12:23 pm 12:23 pm
When did she become the savior? Please run and that will be an easy victory for the Democrats. Not only that, she won’t win the Republican nomination in her own party.
Posted by: HJ | October 28, 2010, 12:26 pm 12:26 pm
The only thing I fault Obama for is that he really thought he could work with the Republicans and even after the Party of No wouldn’t let up, he still tried. I am incredulous that republicans are still supporting these two bimbos, even after they have had ample time to see how vapid they are. Even Rove is coming around
Posted by: Kris | October 28, 2010, 12:26 pm 12:26 pm
As a liberal, I always hope that all candidates for president would be considered the smartest people our country has to offer. Intelligent people have more to bring to a debate then tired and misused phrases. If a party brings a really poor candidate, it is infact their fault when the other side wins.

She has thrown herself into the limelight and has managed to “fool” American with her mamma grizzly, soccer mom, BS. She cares not one iota for the environment, is basically a red-neck, hunter, uneducated woman, who will drill the oceans for oil until there are no oceans left, and who lies and contradicts herself at every turn. This is an interesting move on Palin’s part. She has signaled that one of the other nomination hopefuls can get her to bow out if they “buy her off” by adopting her platform, but with someone who is more electable than her in front. There is certainly an implicit reward of some othr kind, such as a cabinet post or maybe the VP spot again?

If Pres. Obama is so bad, then how come the Republicans/Tea Party cannot find one good candidate to run against him? All I hear is bashing of this president but nowhere do I see anyone the least bit qualified to do the job nor do I hear any REAL ideas, just he’s a communist, a Muslim, socialist, etc. But no one says exactly what they would do. Sick of hearing don’t spend. If he doesn’t spend, things will be worse. People scream they don’t want more government but when something happens or they need something they yell where is the government? Unbelievable.

Don’t worry, history has shown that she has no stamina or staying power. Don’t forget she ditched the voters in Alaska in favor of the speaking circuit. If elected Pres., it won’t be long before she comes up with some reason why she cannot fulfill that obligation too. If Palin is the best this country can offer, it is time to move to Mexico.

I would like to see Palin present herself in a more professional manner and work on her voice diction, not so squeky and annoying. She has charisma, energy and now more political knowledge of our country and world. She needs to be her own person and not the political “wh*re that is being presented by “Lee” I am a democrat and believe that Ms Palin has more to offer than what she presents. Although she still can NOT hold a candle to

I am, popsitive that SNL and shows like John Stewart PRAY she does run. Can you imagine the “boost” in their ratings??? LOL…LOL But on a more serious note, I can almost see the Republican hierarchy hoping she does. Because when she (and they) get slaughterd in the election, they will have a justifiable reason to “re-make” the party and get away from the “right wing malignant segment of the electorate” that is hurting them.
Posted by: CND FOX | October 28, 2010, 5:27 pm 5:27 pm
Well, Sarah has to get *nominated* first. If the Republican voters decided to endorse someone else, well, she can’t come in and decide that she be the candidate. Besides, in order to get nominated, she has to run for the first primaries, not wait until afterward in order to see whether anyone is better.

Not that Palin isn’t qualified as she is just as qualified as the guy we have now. She couldn’t win because the press will continue to demonize her for any little gaff or miscue. However, they are Obamas biggest cheering section.
My real complaint is she will be just as partisan as Obama is so really we get more of the same just to the far right side where Obama is extreme left. Any negative story wrote about the republicans can be said about the Dems as well, just change names and party in power. Both parties are out for their own interests. I don’t care what they have behind their name, D or R, I want elected officials that represent their districts and states, not party or special interests.

That is exactly when her party should call on her, when there is nobody else! She actually got this one right. BTW GW Bush asked for the stimulus plan in Oct 2008, and the Health Care Bills correct name is The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. I can see why all of you Neocons don’t like the proper name. It’s not as scary as the term you use.
