Lonnie Rashied Lynn, Jr. –- better known as Grammy-award winning hip hop artist and actor Common — will join President Obama in Chicago on Saturday for his get out the vote rally. Common is a favorite son there, born on the South Side and a member since he was eight years old of the Trinity United Church of Christ, once led by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

The artist whose debut album was titled Can I Borrow a Dollar? will also join the president and Vice President Biden at Cleveland State University on Sunday for a rally there.

Common was featured in will.i.am’s famous “Yes We Can” video and performed at President Obama’s “Home States” inaugural ball.

The president will also rally in Philadelphia and Bridgeport, Conn., on Saturday.
