Here’s other interesting results that you miss entirely when you look at Rasmussen alone, which tends to keep right wingers in their comfort bubble:
“Driving support for the law: Voters by margins of 2-1 or greater want to keep some of its best-known benefits, such as barring insurers from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions. One thing they don’t like: the mandate that everyone must buy insurance.
At the same time, the survey showed that a majority of voters side with the Democrats on another hot-button issue, extending the Bush era tax cuts that are set to expire Dec. 31 only for families making less than $250,000.”

I think it is more important to look at polls that include younger voters and not just elderly Republicans on Medicare, and see those results. Those younger voters are the ones who will make a difference in the next election, and Republican attempts at appeal are likely to upset them. Look at how different the results are between Rasmussen polls– that leave out younger voters and tend to lean Republican by several points– and regular polls.

So change it by three or four points if you like. Where does that leave you? And pay particular attention to the numbers for those who feel strongly.
The American people did not want this law, and they will not stand for it. If it has not been thrown out by the courts in the next two years they will throw this president out of office and repeal the law. I think the Democrats know this, and I think it terrifies them.

The McClatchy-Marist poll isn’t the first since the election to find something similar to “A majority of Americans want the Congress to keep the new health care law or actually expand it, despite Republican claims that they have a mandate from the people to kill it.”
Rasmussen is sorta out thereby itself, ignoring voters without landlines, and being found repeatedly to lean Republican by at least 3-4 points if not more.

Monday, November 22 2010:
“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% favor repeal of the health care law passed by Congress in March, with 47% who Strongly Favor it [repeal]. Thirty-nine percent (39%) oppose repeal, including 29% who are Strongly Opposed.”
As Mr. Obama famously said, that’s why we have elections. At least he wasn’t lying that time.

Happy Thanksgiving America. Republicans don’t have your backs– not on transparency, ethics, national security, civil rights, jobs, economics, fiscal responsibility, middle class tax cuts, etc.
