I've been studying and reading the Affordable Care Act for two weeks at work. Yes, it will be expensive for employers (and taxpayers who choose not to get health coverage--but what are those idiots thinking, why would you choose to pay a tax rather than cover yourself and your family?). But the Affordable Care Act will accomplish its goals if allowed to run its course. It will grant more American citizens access to health care and it will decrease health care costs overall. I am an American citizen, too, and I support the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

Watching -
I would be happy to burn my social security card - just give me back the money that I was forced to pay into it and discontinue taking it out of my check. I don't need a nanny state to provide for my retirement I am MORE than capable of doing it on my own.
Also I hate to inform you that my mother doesn't need a medicare card as my father was smart enough to not waste is money and ensured that he could provide for his family.
You know I think that your handle is approriate considering the way the world works. There are those in this world that are out DOING and then there are those that are just WATCHING.

Make me laugh. The US is the only country in the world without equal access to health care. Somebody should sue the US in the World Court. Anything to change the abominable inequities in the US, interestingly which apportion to Fed-control of the economy. Is this an oligarchy or what? How long 'til Communism?

i wanted a single payer plan because as an IT professional and a triple primary cancer survivor I've been thru the mill and saw the wasteful administrative overhead.
Republicans are dishonest to attack what was essentially the same program Mitt Romney put in place in Massachusetts but seems like honesty is not a strong point in politics.
Someone like me who has worked for thirty four years and paid for health insurance all along - could be out in the cold because of pre-existing conditions that insurers can use to deny you coverage.
Fighting with insurance companies thru my treatment has made me thankful I remained strong and sorrowed me at the sick people who needed their care and probably gave up.

Zazu, Talmag....here's an interesting link you guys might check out when you have time. It explains why this is a free country, why it will stay that way, and what that means to everybody who lives here. :You may want to ignore it, but don't worry. This country and its' constitution will survive some peoples' inability to comprehend its' significance. There are plenty of us who will defend it, now and in the future. You're welcome.

Zazu: This isn't rocket science. Here's a quick overview: Freedom is good. Some bureaucrat standing on your neck telling you what to buy and what to not buy is bad. M'kay? Maybe you should hook up with Talmag, you guys compare notes, and get back to us. Thanks.

Seems very simple.... No smoke and mirrors or equivocations at all. Can the government use the police powers of the state to force a person to buy an product that they mandate? If so, then what is to stop them form demanding a person buy a particular type of vehicle or to buy a particular type of food or home or clothing or.... whatever they feel they have an abiding interest in. If this is allowed, where are the limits to what government can mandate? Would there be any limits at all anymore? The only arguments for Obamacare are based on emotion and not based on reason. Health insurance is not a right any more than shelter or food are rights. If they were rights then anyone could simply walk into a store and take food without paying and squat in any building for shelter they want to as it would be their "right" to themselves of those things. The bill is bad law pure and simple. Anything that takes 2400 pages to articulate can't be a good thing. It needs to be struck down.

Where's Talmag? Somebody find Talmag. I want to ask Talmag whether he ever read the Declaration of Independence. Not the whole thing maybe, just the Preamble. I want to ask him what part of "...alter or abolish..." he doesn't understand. Or how about: ..."when a long train of abuses and usurpations....absolute despotism"...Millions of people have died defending these concepts, Talmag, and I think before you buy into some socialist claptrap that turns it all upside down, you should get a clue what you are talking about. Also, Happy 235th Birthday, Marines. Semper Fi.....
