Exclusive: Sarah Palin Under Cyber-Attack from Wikileaks Supporters in ‘Operation Payback’*
The website and personal credit card information of former Gov. Sarah Palin were cyber-attacked today by Wikileaks supporters, the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate tells ABC News in an email.
Hackers in London that the Palin team believe to be affiliated with “Operation Payback” – a group of supporters of Julian Assange and Wikileaks – have tried to shut down SarahPac and have disrupted Sarah and Todd Palin’s personal credit card accounts, SarahPAC aide Rebecca Mansour said.
“No wonder others are keeping silent about Assange's antics,” Palin emailed ABC News. “This is what happens when you exercise the First Amendment and speak against his sick, un-American espionage efforts.”
Palin has criticized Wikileaks founder Assange, writing on Facebook that his “past posting of classified documents revealed the identity of more than 100 Afghan sources to the Taliban. Why was he not pursued with the same urgency we pursue al-Qaeda and Taliban leaders?…Assange is not a 'journalist' any more than the 'editor' of al-Qaeda's new English-language magazine Inspire is a 'journalist.’ He is an anti-American operative with blood on his hands."
Activist Gregg Housh told the New York Times "that 1,500 people were on online forums and chatrooms including Anonops.net, mounting mass and repeated 'denial of service' attacks on sites that have moved against Mr. Assange and WikiLeaks in recent days."
A cached page from Anonops.net shows Palin's site as a suggested target.
A SarahPAC.com technical aide said that the "DOS attackers, a group loosely known as Anon_Ops, used a tool called LOIC (Lower Orbit Ion Cannon) to flood sarahpac.com. The attackers wanted us to know that they were affiliated with wikileaks.org through an obscure message in our server log file.“
The tech emailed this screenshot to show what he's talking about.
Mansour said that an employee called Todd Palin this afternoon and told him that his and his wife's account had been compromised and that a company in London was involved.
It wasn't clear whether the attack to the Palins' credit card account today was related to the attack on her website.
Anon_Ops describes itself as an "anonymous, decentralized movement which fights against censorship and copywrong." It has enlisted volunteers "create counter-propaganda, organizing attacks (DDoS) on various targets related to censorship (time, date and target will be published by that time)." For that reason, it is difficult to ascertain the exact motivation of any attacker.
Added Mansour, “the governor voiced her opinion knowing full well that she was speaking out against a shady disreputable organization with no regard for laws or human life. This is how they operate. The world should not be intimidated by them.”
Mansour added that Wikileaks supporters claim to be “in favor of free speech yet they attack Sarah Palin for exercising her free speech.” She said SarahPAC.com was not harmed because Palin’s staff was able to move quickly to protect the site.

I’m sorry, but didn’t she earlier call for him to be “treated like a terrorist”? Someone seems to think it’s acceptable to call for a man’s incarceration, but balks at the idea that someone could hit back… Wait until she blames Julian of rigging the DWTS voting… then she’ll REALLY get mad!

Leandro, it is customary to refer to a former office-holder by their last or highest office, even if they did resign before their term was over.
Posted by: Julia | December 8, 2010, 5:28 pm 5:28 pm
People, don’t act stupid because you do not like the target of an attack.
Leandro, unless you’re dense, you know that people who hold high public office keep those titles the rest of their lives. Like President Clinton. Will Urquhart, do not try to claim any journalist would publish this information. NYT still has not published the information stolen in ClimateGate. But, go ahead and be liberals standing up for people against America once again.
Posted by: NeverSurrender | December 8, 2010, 5:28 pm 5:28 pm
Sad that ABC doesn’t have the technical chops to realize that this completely false. A DoS attack would never be launched from the wikileaks.org servers. And it’s highly unlikely that Palin’s technical staff would be more competent than say…PayPal or others who were unable to stop the attacks.
This story just doesn’t make any sense from the technical perspective.

Rich!’– Since when is it someone’s first ammendment rights to disrupt credit card accounts.. I suppose that by your standards, identity theft is a first ammendment right as well?? Technically, since Sarah Palin resigned her post as governor of Alaska, rather than fulfilling it, she is NOT entitled to the honorific, Governor. She is (and hopefully remain) just Mrs. Palin. The use of Congressman, Senator, Governor, President, etc after one leaves office is reserved for those who honorably COMPLETED their service. People like Palin, Delay, Lott, Gingrich, et al are not entitled to use the honorific, nor is the judge in L.A. who was just impeached.

I’m a bit confused about some of the comments questioning the veracity of the story. I may be seeing an edited version after the comments were posted, but many of the commenters are saying that the (presumed) DDOS attack on SarahPAC wouldn’t have anything to do with the Palin’s credit cards and that ABC doesn’t have the technical chops to know that. True, but the story I’m reading doesn’t draw a connection between the two. Why couldn’t both have happened? It would take different techniques (and likely different groups) but I could envision ways that their cards could be targeted in a separate attack.

I believe that she will run and she will be the nominee. And when the time to face him comes, she will have a file on Obama so thick that she will cut him to ribbons when she debates him. Unlike her running mate in 2008, she won’t be afraid to eviscerate Obama. She will do it with relish. Get out the POPCORN!!!

Some of your lib nuts out there are happy that this guy leaked Afghan sources used by our soldiers, sources which are now probably going to be assassinated. A good thing/ Also the whole Wikkileaks things is a poor reflection on your hero, OBAMA, since it happened on his watch (could you imagine how you would have eviscerated Bush if he had been president when this happened). It also will likely destroy Hilory Clinton, another lib hero. People on the left are utterly irrational – you people are simply not adults, and deserve to live in poverty, to get a taste of what would happen when your kind control things. Go to some third world country, and try to make a living, see if it fits your idea of paradise. Or if you are gay, go to Iran and find out what its like to live in a truly repressed country – why aren’t you out protesting Iran executing people for the crime of being homosexual? Or maybe that doesn’t bother you? Then again why am I wasting my time on brain washed hypocrites who will not ever learn.

this is not wikileaks attacking palin (and others), but a group of hackers known as Anonymous. this is similar to palin verbally attacking wikileaks even tho’ she has no federal government standing.
as far as people exercising their 1st amendment rights, palin had already indicated that she believes the government should curtail those, but apparently only everybody else’s and not hers.
lastly where was she when the bush administration outed valerie plame?

Very bad reputation by Anon Teens to the cause of Freedom of Speech. Don’t get me wrong – I already burned my Amazon and Paypal accounts and wrote long mails to these companies. I’m 110% pro Wikileaks.
But the Hacktivists are damaging reputation of wikileaks, Pirate parties and REAL hackers.
With great power comes great responsibility. It’s a Hacker-Phrase. Anon are kids and no responsible white-hat hackers. They have seemingly little understanding of mature topics like Marketing and Media.
I’m a pirate party member and we could probably have hacked the whole german government to the knees. But no – that silly idea, albeit from being criminal, never even occurred to us. Instead we engaged ppl on street into discussion and got 1 mio legal votes and 250K+ money from gov and credibility in the media.
It’s nice that Anon has shown the world who is stupid and should not mess with Assange, but at the end of the day it will have changed absolutely nothing except that mass media compares credible wikileaks supporters like Noam Chomsky, Tim-Berners Lee or Tim O’Reilly or even Mark Zuckerberg with Hacktivists. The damage is big.
This one was shooting oneself in the foot. Idiots.
It’s important to analyse the leaks and condemn US atrocities like inflitrating Nigeria with Shell Ops or pushing Visa and Mastercard into Russia or letting little afghan boys do talbe-dance for them.
This is the news that will bring change, not the Hacktivists. Nice try.

You should do better reporting. Operation Payback is orchestrated by a hive-mind group called Anonymous, that has also targeted Scientology and the RIAA in the past, and has no direct affiliation to Assange himself. If your news team actually reported the story like the BBC and Guardian and explained it, maybe network news as a medium wouldn’t be 6 feet under.

Xdustinx, you’re full of crap. Just because there’s information that our government doesn’t want exposed does not mean that it’s something illegal or “heinous.” There are a lot of people in Afghanistan who literally risk their lives to help us against the Taliban. Assange has exposed them (and their families; the Taliban isn’t picky) to deadly retaliation.

This is not only a lie, it’s IMPOSSIBLE. Wikileaks.org hasn’t worked for weeks. There is no server behind wikileaks.org, so to say it “visited” is ridiculous. ABC, any chance of getting a correction?

God liberals are pathetic creatures.
You celebrate a dirt bag like Assange, but go after Americans.
WikiLeaks has damaged America and our allies in ways we don’t even understand yet. It has made America less safe and will cause the death of many people.
If we had any sense whatsoever we’d round up every liberal, progressive, whatever the freaks call themselves this week, and ship them to some deserted island, that was inescapable.
This way they could screw each others lives up, without messing with the human population of the world.

But then if you do what’s honorable then one has nothing to hide. This is the machinary that’s attemtping to put Sarah Palin in the white house. Oh please spare us this insult.

Hey – The US Gov’t went after Assange the little spy wannabe, not Sarah palin – So why are his supporters whining about her? How come they aren’t going after the people in the Justice Dept. and White House who recognize the problems Assange has caused for civilized nations and acted accordingly? Palin didn’t do any of that, the Government did.
These “Wikileaks” morons would have posted “EXCLUSIVE – ALLIES TO HIT AT NORMANDY” on June 5, 1944 if the opportunity had presented itself to them, too. They’re the types who kiss up to dictators and think they are “edgy” trying to sabotage and backstab those who fight for the freedoms those in the Free World enjoy. To call them worms insults worms, which provide valuable functions in nature. They’re just scumbags and traitors.

Funny comment about First Amendment Rights. Too bad Assange & Co AREN’T AMERICAN. Duh.
And blathering about constitutionality while defending a government that has an extensive history of violating their own constitution on a whim is just stupidity.
Palin, along with the vast majority of the US Gov’t structure just need to wake up and get a clue. The citizens of America aren’t as stupid as they seem to think we are….and we’re getting less blind to this governmental crap every day.

The Taliban announced its gratitude to Wikileaks for the release and vowed to hunt down those revealed in the documents to be collaborating with the U.S.
70 other tribal elders received death threats warning them that the Taliban had obtained reason to believe they were collaborating with the U.S. One such threat is signed by Abdul Rauf Khadim, a senior Taliban official who was imprisoned in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. When the Cuban prison was partially shut down by President Obama Khadim was transferred to Afghan custody in Kabul, where he subsequently escaped.

The reporting in this article is poor and does not differentiate partisan comments from the facts.

This is really sad. It is clear that most commenters on here have not done any investigation on their own.
The Pentagon has acknowledged that there is not a shred of evidence that anyone has been harmed, or even forced to relocate, due to WL disclosures. Where is this mythical “blood?” Meanwhile, we turn a blind eye to torture committed by the Iraqi Army – didn’t we go there with the purpose of ending human rights abuses? We send in killer robots to bomb our enemies, except 33% of the people we kill with drone attacks are civilians – and these attacks have been proven to inspire more terrorists. Oh wait, I forgot, when we do it, its collateral damage. Not blood on our hands.
We spy on UN officials, we coerce allied governments into quashing investigations when their COMPLETELY INNOCENT citizens are rendered to black sites and tortured for years. These people in our government/contractors/etc. are ruining our country and it pisses me off. WL is not perfect, they are far from it. I do not agree with their decisions to release some particular documents. But one look at the mainstream US media (and I’m not talking about liberal bias) convinces me that WL is the best we have if we want to demand some accountability from these un-American bastards.
And the above examples are just the tip of the iceberg. Sorry I didn’t post links but I have read the primary articles on all of these issues. Google should be able to locate them if you’re interested.

Actually, Sarah Palin is a brilliant idiot. She rose from small town mayor to Governor after which she quit after a very short half term. She knows nothing about facts, only ideology. That in its own, isn’t the worst as we are all entitled to opinions. But she’s a blatant liar when discussing such things. I give her credit for media savvy, she’s brilliant. It’s just that she’s not the brightest bulb in the box. Everyone loves her due to the unwavering and very one sided view the masses have. Faux News doesn’t portray the truth, they provide Palin infomercials. Her book is full of “Proven” lies and known exaggerations. Her TV show is staged. Like I said, she’s brilliant to have gotten this far. It’s just sad that a lot of misinformed people (or ill informed) people don’t know, or don’t care to know the truth. SMH

Palin says she thinks she could beat Obama in 2012 and Dan M thinks that means “bring Obama down.”
Palin exercises her free speech right and criticizes the president and Robert thinks that’s “treason.”
It’s beginning to look like liberals have absolutely no concept of freedom and what that entails.

For those who don’t know what’s really going on. many Hunters on these expeditions donate the meat to Alaskan Villiages. Moose or Carabu hit on the side of the road are donated to local charity. Very little of the animal is wasted. This has been going on for thousands of years. Man has hunted animals. Not everyone wants to go to the local market.

Why anyone takes any notice of Sarah Palin is beyond comprehension. She is a self serving, publicity seeking, person who is cruel to animals, who quit on her job as Governor mid term. She is ignorant and inexperienced but is just trying to market herself as a potential future President of the US. She must be out of her mind if she thinks the American people want a first ever woman President to be someone from a ludicrous reality TV show, who would be more at home on Jerry Springer than in the White House, she is seriously misguided. No one is afraid of her, they are ashamed of her and sick and tired of her. Every day she works it, trying to keep her nonsense buzz going. We can stop it any time we want, by not reading or commenting about her. This is my first and last comment about this jerk. Ignore her and she will soon disappear.

Its also funny how these folks all seem to have left-leaning political points of view. Its also funny how moronic most of the left hate speech really is. Its also funny how people think their actions would not have any reactions. Maybe the only hope for this country is a violent, bloody civil war, where one side wipes out the other? Do you know what happens to deer and elk that have no natural predators to control their population. They over populate and then slowly and painfully starve to death. Those that are weakened by lack of food but dont die often succumb to disease and slowly and painfully die from that.
Which is more cruel allowing hunters to limit the population of deer and elk herds with a quick death or starvation and disease. How do you think that hamburger on your plate made it to the store? Suicide?

I think that a lot of us have missed a couple of very important points.
The first is the fact that there are so many people ready to work together towards several denial of service (DoS) attacks and succeed with some limited effect. E.G., the DoS attacks on Visa and MasterCard shut down their corporate websites.
The second is that Julian Assange is not an American citizen; he is an Australian citizen and as such isn’t protected by U.S. laws. His website is a different matter as it is “published” in a public venue (the internet) and *is* protected by the First Amendment, to a point.
If he or any of his staff were to make false accusations against anyone who can prove that the allegations are false; they can be taken to court in the U.S., if the ‘victim’ is a U.S. citizen. Most of the court decisions on this matter treat it as if it were in a newspaper or magazine; simply put, it’s libel. Since his site is publishing unaltered documents; the sites are protected and he (and his staff) are protected from frivolous libel lawsuits.
One more thing, in case it’s not clear. Mr. Assange isn’t a citizen of the U.S.; anything he says or does, while contemptible, is not treasonous. In order for a charge of treason to stick; the defendant has to be a citizen of the country making the charge. Look up Benedict Arnold and his actions in 1780.

A person’s IQ can be easily measured:
A person’s IC is inversely proportional to the hate they feel for Governor Sarah Palin.
Palin –objectively speaking- was and is more qualified to be President than what we have now.
After all, Governor Palin has more executive experience, Grace, Love for God and fellow Countrymen, Patriotism and American common sense in one of her gorgeous eyelashes than the Affirmative Action President has in his entire ‘messianic body’, including the teleprompter.
The last two years have proven those things to be a veritable fact.

Yeah. I voted against Democrats in November because Obama Lied. In 2012 I might vote for the whackiest candidate, so Palin is now leading the quest for my 2012 vote by a mile.

“a shady disreputable organization with no regard for laws or human life”? The leaked war logs shed light on the 60K+ civilians killed in Iraq. I like Palin.. as a person, not a politician. Her personal credit shouldn’t have been attacked but it was. And Assange being arrested as a result of this smear campaign is a joke. The US Govt is more of a threat to the private citizens of the US than he is.

Welcome to the bizzaro world of Cyber Anarchy. Classified documents are stolen and then illegally posted online, jeapordizing the lives of countless people throughout the world and the national security of our country. Then a private citizen dares to publically criticize the this very dangerous crime. She is then targeted in a Cyber Attack. That is what Anarchist do. What is most disturbing is to see the hate posted on this very forum, defending Wikileaks and attacking Palin for having the courage to speak up. Sarah Palin has shown some real leadership here. That cannot be said of the President.
PS: Spelling/Typo Police, sometimes I err in spelling or typing. BFD. If you don’t like what I say, debate the issue.

It is painful to see just how much hatred the left holds for anyone that rejects their narrow minded world view.
For those too stupid to comprehend why she resigned her (successful) governorship I will try once again to explain: “The hate filled facists of American politics known as the media-DNC-NEA complex had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars filing untrue, frivolous ethics charges against her. She and her staff were spending too much time defending against these petty attacks and she felt that she was not able to devote enough time to being governor. In contrast with the Zero who did nothing for Illinois but collected his paycheck while running for POTUS. She is ethical.

Interesting how no Politician spoke up about the criminal activity via cyber attacks on Wikileaks? No one said a word when Wikileaks was forced off Amazon’s servers and had to move to Swiss Servers. No one said a word when Wikileaks DNS lookup service was cutoff – no DNS equals no Wikileaks.
Imagine for a minute what the uproar would be from Politicians if this had happened to say the New York Times or Washington Post or to TimesWarner and all their web sites. No one said a word and I suspect not much was done to help Wikileaks to overcome those attacks. No FBI or NSA bothering to try and trace and help stop those attacks on Wikileaks. Where were all those cyber-security agencies? Surely they were not in Cancun for that Global Warming argument fest
As for disclosing secrets, apparently Wikileaks had approached US Government Agencies to try and work together to redact names and real secrets. Apparently Wikileaks proposal was rejected.
Where is the FCC with Net Neutrality? Why has the FCC not said anything about Visa, Mastercard or PayPal? Why has the FCC not said a word about Amazon or the folks who had provided DNS lookup service? Why have no US Legal Agencies bothered to speak about any of this. I wonder if there will be a refund for all the fees which were collected from Wikileaks?
Questioning minds would like to know.

Predictably, hyperbole dominates this thread. Institutions owe a responsibility of ethical conduct to the people they allegedly serve. Institutions that deviate from lawful conduct would prefer that their deviations never see daylight. However much many of us dislike Julian Assange, the fact remains that democracy is strengthened by transparency, not secrecy used to cover up foul play.

Well Sarah, your stupidity always shines right through. You accuse Assange of un-American activities. Well he is not an American. You say you’d like to see him tried for treason? The leaks was done overseas and he is an Australian? So how do you come up with treason? American laws do not apply to foreign citizens overseas. Can you still see Russia from your front yard? You must be the dumbest person ever to hold the office of Governor in any state.

These people are what Seal teams are for!!!!
Posted by: Seal | December 8, 2010, 9:16 pm 9:16 pm
Folks:
Anonymous and their friends are affiliated with Wikileaks the way folks are affiliated with a political party. Supporters but not conspirators. Also, this is not a hacker attack in the “traditional” sense. No computers are being hijacked and turned into “zombies”. Folk are downloading the “Ion Canon” and turning their own computers into artillery. You still need to convince about a thousand folks to fire at once at a particular target at once though. How democratic.
So that’s whats happening. The “Ion Cannon” isn’t the only tool out there and these programs are as easy to use as “Seti@Home”. They’re spreading like wild fire too.
From this point on anyone foolish enough to make a thousand people angry can expect their web presence to be compromised.
Wikileaks didn’t create this situation, the U.S. government brought it down apon us all by their reaction to Wikileaks.
The funny thing is that Wikileaks is only releasing cables that some other news agency has written a story about (To keep them honest I guess). I’ve been checking on that from the beginning. They are the ones that are showing restraint here.
This will go down in history as the Wikileaks War.
It’s only begun.

Further, whilst Assange and Wikileaks are probably not in breach of law for releasing redacted diplomatic and other cables, those who have called for the assassination of Assange and the Wikileaks crew most definitely have incited murder – and that IS a criminal act. Come on, we are not living under totalitarian rule where anyone can be ‘sequestered’ – or even killed – for speaking the truth.

Has anything from Palin’s email been confirmed? I don’t doubt that it possible the same DDoS attacks that were carried out on Mastercard.com, Visa.com, etc could have been carried out on Sarah Palin’s website, but from what I understand, those attacks cannot be directed at specific credit card accounts (please correct me if I’m wrong). It seems like every news article reporting the attack on Palin’s credit card account cites only this article, and this article cites only Palin’s email, which is reported as undisputed fact.
If the author of this article has confirmed that Sarah Palin’s credit card account has indeed been “disrupted”, then I apologize. If not, then the author is responsible for disseminating rumor to half the online journalism outlets. Even though this is hardly an isolated event, it’s my opinion that journalism should be free of that.

There is way too little information here to be able to make an assumption of what really went on. One thing that many people forget, freedom of speech does not gaurantee that what you say or print will not be held against you. “people in glass houses….”

My issue is not whether or not the events happened (it seems like there were DDoS attackes on Palin’s website based on what the technical aide said and based on the screenshots) but whether or not this article’s author confirmed that Palin’s personal credit card account was attacked (it seems like that might not have happened and there is no evidence pointing to the contrary). If there is indeed no evidence supporting Palin’s claim that her personal credit card account was attacked, then the author has potentially printed something factually inaccurate which has since been reprinted throughout the internet on news websites. It is the author’s responsibility not to take the email at face value and present it as fact.
Again, if it is confirmed that Palin’s credit card account has been attacked, I take back everything I’ve said.

I take strong exception to the peculiar statements made by ‘idesign’, among others.
This: “This shows the enemies of Sarah Palin are joining forces with the enemies of our nation…….

..would be remarkable if only it wasn’t voiced with some sincerity.
Freedom of information (by which we are able to inform ourselves) as well as a free press are the cornerstones of a free and functional democracy.
Far from ‘crippling’ a free and fair society, the leaks so far published are a goad for all of us to actively protect the free exchange of views and information vital to national health.
Unless you reserve the right to torture other human beings under the guise of ‘protectiveness’, think that it is good to gun down journalists, and generally lie and cheat in order to get your self-serving ends met, that is.
We should instead thank Wikileaks for highlighting our glaring inadequacy and complacency in matters of diplomatic security, take stock of our errors, and actually BE the exemplars of democratic principles we claim to be.
Don’t talk about it, BE about it.

After all, if Palin can make her debut by telling baldface lies about Democrats, liberals, our President or anyone else with the courage to disagree with her…if she can continue to assault our intelligence and the march of American social progress, then she is fair game for hacktivists, comediennes and critics. If it is good for the goose, then it is good for the gander.

If these anarchist creeps were actually worried about free speech and human rights they’d hack into Chinese computers and find out what the commie dictators are hiding. May I suggest that they start with finding out what happened to over 30 million people who ‘disappeared’ under Mao.
And oh how typical that they say they’re against censorship but then attempt to muzzle anyone who says something they don’t like such as Sarah Palin who is 100% correct that revealing the names of Afghans who are secretly helping the US puts the lives of those people in great danger. Not only that, without the help from Afghanis like them there will be more women beaten, disfigured and executedby the Taliban, more hands and feet cut off for petty crimes, etc.
But do these anarchist monsters actually care what damage they do? -of course not!

@freedomrules
If you cannot distinguish the difference between freedom of speech to criticize your government and the wrongs commited by others versus STEALING state secrets and revelaing them to our enemies then you are no better than the enemy and you are guilty of treason.
The information was CLASSIFIED and it was STOLEN. If it puts the life of even one soldier at greater risk than that’s one too many. If you actually ‘think’ that our government should not be able to hide information from the eyes of our enemies then you are from another planet.

I’d like to hack into Berkeley’s server, get the name, address, phone number, credit card and bank numbers, grades, medical records and criminal background of every one there who thinks Bradley Manning is some sort of hero and publish it on the web. Hey, I’d just be exercising my right to free speech under their ~definition~ so why should they care?

Why do you think politicians cut education funding? Dumb voters = easily manipulated. We are as dumb as we have been in 100 years. Consequently, we get manipulated and ripped off. This great nation is being systematically dismantled. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, whether they are sincere or not. This twit is on the top of the list.

Bunch of fox news fans here.
US Gov’t-
Hacked wikileaks, Life treated Assage, Blackmail Paypal, amazon, Visa, Pressure Interpol Police to put Assage in the most Wanted List(For a broken Candle) – Crime.
That is alredy some jail time for a few people there..
Wikileaks so far, by the constitution has commited no crime.
Somebody said about terror? Well, I believe if you say that you probally still think that Iraq war was really a War on terror right?
Sad… very Sad, we all are being raped every day in every way by our own Gov’t.

First and most importantly, I don’t condone what Assange and Wikileaks are doing in any way, shape or form, but I couldn’t resist commenting on Palin’s statement because this is so classic Palin (which is not a flattering thing).
Like someone mentioned above, of course Assange is being un-American (as Palin states), that’s because he’s from Australia you numbnut. Did she mean to say he’s being un-Australian??
And the last time I checked, the First Amendment she is referring to is part of the United States Constitution, so her stating she’s getting persecuted from people outside the U.S. for exercising her First Amendment rights makes no sense because….wait for it…..Ass-ange (and the hackers from outside the U.S.) don’t follow the same Constitution as Americans. Maybe she’s referring to the First Amendment from the Australian Constitution….nah, I doubt it, and actually I don’t think the Australian Constitution has a Freedom of Speech clause.
Palin, please stop your book tours, your reality shows, and all your other nonsense and go back to Alaska and live in Peace with your family. PLEASE!!!

“The information was CLASSIFIED and it was STOLEN.”
you left out the part where it was stolen by a disgruntled low-level military clerk (a private, no less!) who then gave it to assange. we can’t try assange for treason (not an american), and apparently even we have a hard time laying the blame solely at the feet of this soldier. rather than taking a long hard look at our security systems, it’s oh-so-much easier to point fingers elsewhere.
i’m not a fan of wikileaks; in fact i think that much harm has been done to our foreign policy by these document releases, but we need to understand that we need to be able to stay one step ahead of these types of cyber-sleuths, not one step behind.
Posted by: justsane | December 9, 2010, 12:04 am 12:04 am
Hah hah! News Flash. He IS UN American, in the sense that he’s NOT and American.
And I don’t hear anyone ‘keeping silent’.
I suppose the thought that someone deliberately implicated ‘Wiki Leaks’ never entered her head?
“No wonder others are keeping silent about Assange’s antics,” Palin emailed ABC News. “This is what happens when you exercise the First Amendment and speak against his sick, un-American espionage efforts.”

why is silly sarah so bent out of shape about assange? it seems to me he isn’t doing anything but passing along communications he’s receiving from others, who may or may not be involved in illegal activities. she didn’t have much of an outcry about bush and cheney torturing people.
and what’s this quote from mansour referring to a ‘governor’. he couldn’t be talking about palin, could he? she’s not a ‘governor’. she ‘dropped out’ of that gig when a better pay check came along.

This guy should be punished? Are you kidding me? Fallin supporters, are you serious? Maybe you should realize that if we had wikileaks in the Bush era, maybe we would of had our soldiers here at home, protecting our borders. What you fail to realize is that your own president put our soldiers lives at risk way before wikileaks. Freaking Sheep…same goes for the far left. Someone finally had enough and stood up to the elite, and you call him a traitor.
Posted by: Dino | December 9, 2010, 12:09 am 12:09 am
lmao. Sarah, get a grip. You have to realize that you’re not important enough to the rest of the world to warrant that kind of attention. Wouldn’t they have targeted Obama?
I read this story and I think one of two things: A) That Sarah Palin is paranoid enough that she actually believes an organization that is acting world-wide would single her out, amongst all the ACTUAL world leaders, for financial torture or B) That she’s looking for publicity.
Either option is repugnant.
While I’m not among the Sarah Palin haters, I *am* beginning to believe that she’s an idiot, because if A) is true…well, we’re not that stupid, and I’m sorry if she is and if B) is true, well, Sarah, sorry, we’re not that gullible.
So who the heck do I support next election?

i can see the handwriting on the wall that pretty soon palin will be taken as an incompetent clown by independents as well as a great number of republicans. i think the country can rest now that she’s in self-destruct mode, despite her big-name consultants, world geography advisers, google search helpers and ghost writers.
Posted by: grasspress | December 9, 2010, 12:13 am 12:13 am
How STUPID are people? Yes, most of the commenters on here. It isn’t WIKILEAKS attacking these various sites, it’s some random group claiming to be Wikileaks “SUPPORTERS”.
Imagine if it wasn’t even the “supporters” doing all this anyway, imagine if it was the US government trying DDoS’ing these websites just to make it look like it’s Wikileaks/Assange’s supporters? Just like the Sept 11, 2001 bombings… Who’s to say that wasn’t rigged?

Since when does someone have to be an American citizen to be “UN-American”?
The definition of UN-AMERICAN is: not American : not characteristic of or consistent with American customs, principles, or traditions.
It may be semantics but you’re not giving Palin the credit she deserves. She seems to have a better handle on the English language than most of us. Please, don’t use her as a distraction form the real issues. When you focus all your ire on her personally you are missing the real issue before you.
Ever since this whole thing started with the 2008 primary’s, all I could think of is the Mad TV character Stuart – “Look what can do!” it was always something to distract us from the real issues.

You would hear the yammering all day everyday until everyone started to believe it. It would be featured everyday on the front page of the NYT. Soon Julian and his “supporters” are sure to turn on the uber-left. Maybe there are right-wing crazies out there waiting to spring. It will get interesting within a year or so.

If a collective of hackers were to attack
the dis functional Palin camp they wouldn’t stop at just the credit. After they have crippled the major stuff they would erase and alter the space they occupy .Then the sites would be turned to the underlings of the palin clan and steal, alter,or erase information needed to make or break deals. One thing they could do is find information on past events that palin doesnt want people to know, and make it public, like affairs, trooper gate, unlawful spending, feeding Bristol to much.
But are they worth the efforts of experienced hackers,no I think not.
Hackers dont do half a job, they would do it right and make it count.

To Seal: FYI Palin NEVER said she could see Russia from her porch. It was a comedy bit from SNL. BTW FYI Reality check that was an actress playing Sara Palin. Most dolts get their News and opinions from comedy shows. What she said was “on a clear day, from some parts of Alaska you can see Russia,” which happens to be true. Funny when people tell a lie long enough and with enough support of papers like the NY Times others actually believe the lie. Tried and true method used by Nazis from 1933 to 1945. Now used by every uber-left organization in America and the world. While it may be tricky it might be possible to be un-American without being a citizen. Better to have said anti-American I guess. If as you said American laws don’t apply overseas why is the left screaming to give terrorists arrested warnings and Constitutional rights? Will everyone defend Mr. Julian when he targets individuals HE determines are “dangerous” even elected officials Americans voted into office. Maybe ever the president. I think we should be allowed to reform and hold our government accountable without crusaders the world over making the choices for us. But their are many “One Worlders” who hate their own country so much they prefer to be ruled by people they don’t vote for and who are not accountable to anyone. Turn the whole country over to the Assange’s of the world and be done with the muddle of democracy.

Of course none of these same people have ever had to live anywhere that all laws for the benifit of the population have been destroyed. See anything wrong with this group or actually believe they are defenders of injustice? @ Jack Lean II: I have firm faith that Australia and the United States of American will survive together with our Armistice allies (perhaps even the UK), though it must be clear and, I think, clearly stated, that leaving the dirty business of war and diplomacy up to a furtive and mostly invisible set of operatives is not in the interests of a healthy society.
My first concern will remain a very simple one, and it is this: that while these wars of ours are quickly swept away from public view and lack conventional newsworthiness unless we happen to be winning, this week, real soldiers have to pull real triggers and must mourn real war dead.
This fact has often been overlooked.
My second concern is that in my view our Allied nations are entirely unprepared and I think, unwilling to reaccomodate our own returninbg services following demobilization – and I challenge that any of Us are ever successfully demobilized following such campaigns as we now prosecute.
My third concern is that admirable patriotism and strong faith, willingness to follow orders under the uniform code of conduct, and even diplomatic fealty have been and are being corrupted, misdirected and perverted in order to carry out mopping-up operations on a vast scale.
My last suggestion would be that if we should wish to avoid an entire column of Jason Bournes in the near future, who certainly will act on their instincts, a little more accountability and humility would be strongly in order within the cloak-and-dagger establishment hitherto enjoying such luxurious anonymity in a sea of blood and bone fragments.
Straight up.

I’m not sure what I read here… looks like more Palin propaganda to me, maybe that’s the reason this is an “exclusive”.
While I don’t agree with everything Mr. Assange and his associates have done, WikiLeaks has also exposed some great transgressions, some of them perpetrated by the American government and American military. Also, Mr. Assange, being Australian, can hardly be accused of being “un-American”.
Still, disrupting the Palins’ accounts is an unfair attack. It’s not as if Palin herself has any power to punsish Assange (thankfully). Releasing revealing information on their activities – should the folks at WikiLeaks be in possession of any – would be a more appropriate means of countering her extreme words.

Ditto,Freedom, Its called in the trade deflection, smokescreens, obfuscation. I think the repeated calls for Andy Warhole moments to attention to herself, the Annie Oakley Posse gun toting theatrics, and uncanny inability to grasp the consequences of our treachery and murderous coverups oversees, is a real threat and embarassment to national security and our pubic image more than the leaks themselves, and if anything, gives credence to the international perspective now, what hipocrites we all must be. If anybody in Anon had wanted to mess with her account it would have been done a long time ago. Thats not their style.

What most people are unable to see here is how empowered the Internet has made the citizen, how closer to one-world we have moved.
That citizens who hitherto had no voice and could be overwhelmed by Governments or those who run them, can now turn back and hurt those bullies, is a defining moment in the history of mankind!
This war being played out in cyberspace is a defining moment for planet earth and our shared future. It shows the power and the collective might of right-thinking people. If all of us suffer for a while because of Operation Payback, consider the wonderful lessons all of us would have learned too!

These moves and counter moves in a cyberspace war are difficult for us laymen to figure out. I don’t know if Assange is a freedom-fighting hero to some people or a criminal terrorist to others. I do recall from history that the first move that Lenin and the Bolsheviks made in October 1917 was to take over the central telephone exchange in Moscow to start their revolution. This battle has escalated to the point of criminal behavior on someone’s part be it leader or follower. There was an old axiom in TV news some decades ago, “when the action is hot, keep the rhetoric cool.”

Sarah Palin is the biggest American symbol of patriotism, Christian principals, American cultural values and conservatism. She is the symbolic target of all those who are far left, anti-American and very liberal because they, especially the mainstream media, saw how effective she could be in presenting the conservative in direct opposition to the liberal agenda. So it’s no wonder she is constantly ridiculed by the media and groups like Wikileaks who are also anti American and anti-conservative.

Most of these comments are non-sensical. . .and thus alarming.
It makes no logical sense for the supporters of wikileaks to hack into Palin’s personal records & credit cards, etc. Joe Lieberman, and many others, have said the same thing Palin said about Assange and Wikileaks. Why target Sarah? Seriously. Most likely, those who targeted Palin’s site & personal data are not really “wikileaks supporters” as they are leftist American political hacks trying their best to marginalize Sarah since she has disclosed an interest in running for President in 2012.
The ONLY reason the left/progressives/liberals even bother to attack Palin with the irrationally scary venom with which they do is because they fear Sarah Palin. Fine. Fear her. You are wise to do so.
Assange is merely “the patsy.” I want to know who is behind all these leaks . . . and it’s sure not the simple-minded, low level PFC. There’s NO way he could possibly have access to this much secret information. And, even if he did, he’s likely not smart enough to “get this data” out of a secure environment . . .at least not without help or someone looking the other way.

Assange is as much a journalist as any at the BBC. Remember that it was an unethical BBC “journalist” who exposed Dr David Kelly. Whether Assange would come to the same fate is still unknown, but the exposure of one of his Swedish accusers as linked to the CIA does not look good gor him.

Why are liberals so afraid of Sara Palin>
Posted by: Marty | December 9, 2010, 7:37 am 7:37 am
The Media needs to stop updating us on Sarah Palin. Its like the media has a high school crush on the pretty, but dump cheerleader. Hey guys, move on! She represents no one; and by simply promoting her, your deepen her pockets as she exploits her new found celebrity. BTW, John McCain needs to retire and fade away.
Posted by: Dan | December 9, 2010, 7:43 am 7:43 am
BTW — I’ve never seen the left go after anyone like they have with Sarah Palin. The reason the left is so desperate — truly and crazy desperate — to target Sarah Palin is because there is NO dirt on Palin. Nothing. She can’t be blackmailed b/c there is nothing to blackmail her with, unlike Barack & Michelle Obama. . .and many others.
Sarah Palin is the best that Feminism has to offer — she is very strong, very smart, very courageous. She can’t be broken. . .and she can’t be broken b/c her core values are so strong: God, Family, Country. Sarah has a perspective on this life that too few of us have anymore. She is NOT a weak person. She’s a strong person. . .and she’s strong (and thus cannot be broken) because she does know the difference between right & wrong, good & evil, . .and she is 100% willing to fight (and sacrifice) for what is right and good in this truly great and giving nation, the USA.

Don’t say that James.
Imagine the Medicare costs for treating such a disease.
We’d all go broke.
Call it a condition.

The skill and courageousness in which Sarah Palin continues to handle adversity amazes me. I didn’t think that she had the gravitas to ascend the the presidency, but maybe I was wrong. I know of no other politician who marches forward with the zeal, clear-headedness, and charm that she does. In comparison, the rest seem confused, especially the current occupant of the oval office.

“The Media needs to stop updating us on Sarah Palin. Its like the media has a high school crush on the pretty, but dump cheerleader. Hey guys, move on!” – Dan
I don’t know if the Media will listen Dan.
Look how they fawned all over Barack Obama and got that neophyte elected.
That High School Crush was so 08, good times (sigh).
Why would they change their ways?
Besides, reporting on Sarah Palin gives them at least a token chip in the unbiased and balanced News Game.

FYI:
1. When Palin became Governor of Alaska, she immediately went after the entrenched Republicans in cahoots with the oil companies. Today, a chunk of them are in state prison wearing orange jump suits. The liberals loved her then. ;-)
2. As Governor, Sarah Palin enjoyed an 85%+ approval rating. Why? Because she was determined to DO what was in the best interest of Alaska instead of pander to either political party.
3. Sarah then went after the OIL companies, taking on EXXON and WINNING. Al their threats did not phase her one iota. She basically said to Exxon: “if you don’t like it, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.” Exxon caved . . .and the other oil companies sheepishly followed. Result: the Alaskan people prospered.
4. Palin also held an extremely high security clearance. As Gov. of Alaska, Palin commanded the ONLY full-time active duty Air National Guard INTERCEPTOR UNIT tasked with defending against “over-the-pole” Russian and Chinese incursions – 24/7/365. Sarah Palin received some of the MOST TOP SECRET briefings, frequently, from the Pentagon.
5. Sarah Palin IS very smart . . .and very courageous. And, most importantly, she can’t be bought or bullied. Now THAT is a feminist!

First, that’s a big word Marty, confused your audience. Secondly, nice to see our top attorney general Holden getting tough on these criminals. I do believe it’s illegal in most countries to hack personal financial information. However, it appears here in the great US of A, our political leaders are more concerned if you wore a condom or not. What needs to be done is have these hackers hack the Kerrys, Obamas, Bidens and Reids to see if the AG has any ba!!s. What a shame, all of the world afraid of a beautiful lady from Alaska.. Kind of reminds me of that really good looking guy from California that became President. Finally an American Patriot that is not afraid to speak their mind and believe in the American Dream..
You go Sarah, we love ya….

If you think this is a leftist shill to take down a future presidential challenger, you are sorely mistaken. Sarah Palin is the best thing going for the left right now. She has no chance (aside from in her mind) of winning a general election. It would be a HUGE landslide as she gets more coverage, and continues to bark herself down an ever more tangled labyrinth of political posturing and faux outrage.
She attacks everyone unlike herself, yet when she is exposed as a bigot and fraud, she (in a classic example of projection) labels the media as bigoted and plays victim. In her mind, is it ever possible that she is mistaken?
Every actual fiscal conservative I know despises her, as she’s obfuscated their platform with fake outrage and subjective morality.
She did good to bring formerly uninterested parties to the electorate, however, the Palin experiment has boiled over. The people who picked her as a running mate and pushed her onto the national scene are not impressed with her habit of stealing the spotlight from a party already struggling to find an identity besides being against the left and communism and such.

Anonymous is heavily split on this attack. Half of the talent from Anonymous does not believe that Assange is innocent. We do not see what he did as great justice. We see what he did as irresponsible and a direct attack against one country. Like the hipster culture that We despise, Assange is only taking on fashionable causes, such as hating America.
do not forget that this would have shut down most of the internet, had Anonymous been of one mind on the matter; We are divided by this.
United for 1, divided by 0.

Amazing how the radical left fears Palin. They say she is the dumbest person on the planet but they fear her. Palin calls them out on their socialist agenda. They have been trying to take her out for over two years and have failed. And seeing Palin with that hunting rifle in her hand scared the leftists even more.

Sarah palin is the best thing for the far left lunatics. She has no chance. I am a liberal hater. I hate america. I hate the working man. I love government. they give me free things. I belong to a union that way I dont have to think. They think for me and tell me how to vote. I am 200,00 in college debt. This isnt my fault its sarah palins. Sarah palins new show is a snuff movie. well gotta go my hamburgers are ready.

Alec — I don’t think you get it. The American people are indignant and furious with both political parties. We’re sick and tired of the entitled, entrenched, arrogant elitists. Time for some basic common sense. Sarah’s got it.
I don’t, however, believe that she is seriously intent on becoming President in 2012. Eventually — but not 2012. She’s not doing what she needs to do to make that happen. I do want her to run for President. I want to hear her debate the serious issues facing our nation today, at least in the R Primaries. . .and because she needs to get some serious presidential campaign experience under her belt . . .for the future.
BTW — Palin did the RIGHT thing by stepping down as Governor of Alaska. The liberal left/Dems were out for blood. They absolutely intended — and proved it numerous times — to cripple the Palin family financially and innundate her with bogus, BS investigations and litigation. She KNEW she would not be capable — permitted– to function as Governor of Alaska. She loves Alaska — and the US — so she did the right thing FOR Alaska. She stepped down so that Alaska’s best interests could not be harmed b/c of the irrational political venom and fear of the leftists/liberals/progressives/socialists — whatever. Sarah is very smart.

“disrupted Sarah and Todd’s personal credit card accounts…”
Does anyone besides me think it possible that the Queen of Faux Outrage may have taken some license in making this claim based on her being denied access to perhaps Mastercard.com yesterday along with millions of other people? If for some reason I wanted to access Mastercard.com yesterday and had been denied access would I not be able to make a similar claim that my personal account had been disrupted?
Think about it.

Your all idiots. Sarah PAlin is the biggest idiot of all. Sure she’s smart. LOok at all the press she is getting.
No one has ever quit the Alaska governorship…but of course it didn’t pay as much as her new book. Smart you betcha. Knowledgeable on any topic of politics…NOT!

I support Sarah Palin because she knows that children are our future. She teaches them well and lets them lead the way.
She shows them all the beauty they possess inside. In addition, she gives them a sense of pride to make it easier.
Let us let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be!
Posted by: Karen | December 9, 2010, 8:30 am 8:30 am
No, El Kabong — no other sane person thinks what you think.
Sarah Palin’s email was hacked a year+ ago. The Dem political hacker who did that is now in jail, deservedly so. It’s pretty obvious that whoever hacked the Palin’s personal data and credit card info were seeking dirt on Palin. . .in anticipation of the 2012 election.
Also, it was disgusting and CREEPY that some leftist “journalist” moved in next door to the Palin Family to “study” and monitor their daily activities. He did so with pen & paper . . .and video camera in hand. Now THAT “journalist” is a sick-in-the-head puppy. And, it goes to show just HOW SICK-in-the-head and desperate the left is to find anything on the obviously squeeky-clean Sarah Palin.
What did she do? She built a fence high enough so that the “journalist” could not video her little kids . . .and then she went on with her life.
CAN’T break Sarah Palin b/c her core values — and sense of purpose and self-worth — are healthy and strong.
As I recall, Sarah Palin did a GREAT job debating the serious issues facing our nation with Dem VP candidate Joe Biden in 2008, even though she’d only been on the scene for approximately a month.
Posted by: Karen | December 9, 2010, 8:37 am 8:37 am
How would you respond kgb999, if the President said what Sarah said? Do you wander how this information was obtained? Can you equate hacking with anything criminal? What exactly makes you think Sarah is stupid? Perhaps you need to clean your mirror?

Sarah supports our right to hasten the impending armageddon and return of Jesus by starting WW3…that’s why I support her. The only reason Sarah sounded like a maroon in her “interviews” with that hussy Katie Couric, old perv Charlie Gibson, etc was because there was a conspiracy against her! I know the questions sounded innocent enough, but thats where the sneakiness was! Sarah was expecting much harder questions than “what do you read” so she was momentarily confused as anyone would be! I don’t see Sean Hannity lobbing any of those softballs! Sean drills down into the deep issues. Bottom line: Sarah’s in it to win it!

Palin is nothing more than a political hack cashing in big time. Books, reality show..”I’d rather be here in Alaska than some stuffy office in Washington”….bull hockey. When McCain picked her as running mate, that told me all I needed to know about this dyed in the wool Neocon. And believe me, I’m no bleeding heart liberal, just can see the Princess for what she really is.

To the fake “KarenD” @ 8:54:45 — wow, you’re really afraid of me, aren’t ya? LOL
Anyway, moving on . . . . Sarah Palin stepped down as Governor of Alaska for another very serious reason: During her mere 2 years in office, Sarah Palin also negotiated a new approach to building a Natural Gas Pipeline (with Canada) which is CURRENTLY in the process of being the BIGGEST PRIVATE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT IN THE . . .HISTORY . . .OR NORTH AMERICA.
She didn’t want THAT compromised by the petty, loser liberals out to bankrupt her family and humiliate and abuse her CHILDREN. Usually, the KIDS of politicians are “off limits.” The left is SO desperate — again, literally sick-in-the-head desperate — to harm Sarah, that they don’t even honor the recognized prohibition on attacking the CHILDREN of politicians. THAT is how deeply sick and venamous . . .and thus evil, the liberal/leftists have become especially as it pertains to Governor Sarah Palin — a truly CLASS act.

Great to see the former Aussie P.M has come to his sense’s and if providing support to Assange as is Just!!! Furthermore he has quite rightly come to say that the problem in ref to the leaking of these cables is America’s faut and its problem – one U.S citizen / army personel stole this information and will presumably be dealt with under U.S law . J Assange is an Australian citizen and has broken NO Aussie law or U.S law!!!
Palins calls (AMONGST OTHERS)to shoot him or have him shot are certainly something only some deranged and evil person would say or do!!! ABSOLUTELY APPALLING – & AND THIS FROM A SUPPOSED U.S LEADER !!!!

You all are missing the big picture here. The “Operation Payback” by “Anonymous” isn’t some coordinated plot driven by traditional political motivations. We’re talking about the same group that took on Scientology, the RIAA, and other groups for no discernible reasons. Chaos rules in these individuals. They have no leader, they have no names they go by, they just act on impulse and do what “everybody else is doing”. The group changes significantly over time and doesn’t have a charter list of members it goes by. Another interesting note is a large group of the participants in these acts are minors, so check you own kids before placing the blame on supposed liberal terrorists. It has little to do with Palin and her policies than the meager fact that she criticized anon. Do your research before you criticize blindly.

People always seem to forget that Sarah Palin had like 18 lawsuits and complaints against her in Alaska. She has been (cleared of ALL the of them) because they were (all lies) from the Liberal left! The family could not afford to fight all that; who could. After resigning she has gone on to make lots of money!!! GREAT FOR HER, that’s the American way!!! You socialists need to shove it somewhere where the sun don’t shine. She now has a war chest of funds to withstand these kinds of attacks. The fact that she makes money makes Socialists mad, makes me happy to see her rise above it. Mad because she makes money? Now that’s laughable!

Palin is more experienced and intelligent than Teleprompter Obama. She has truth, believes in America’s exceptionalism with real life and real leadership. The stupidity is from people who voted for Obama and worship him as “The One” with his apology tours, narcissim, and off-the-charts spending.

Obamas entire political career was determined by one speech he made six years ago. That’s it. And I’m sure he didn’t even write those empty words. It was a good speech. He should have received an academy award, not the presidency.

Liberals distort Palin’s truth with lies. When she said, “There is an island in Alaska, from which you can see Russia.” The liberals changed it with Tina Fey’s interpetation to: “I can see Alaska from my front porch.”
When she misspoke after seven back to back interviews with an immediate correction of “North” to “South,” the liberal biased media again spread lies. Palin is highly intelligent with an amazing record as a Governor who achieved and had an 85% approval record, putting money from natural resources BACK into taxpayer’s pocket!
Go Palin! Liberals are idiots!

In reality, I’m not even one of Sarah Palin’s “team”/advocates. I’m just sick of the petty attacks on her and her children. I don’t see a need for that.
Better to defend your position and views with some facts and competent analysis.
FYI: I’m a Catholic so I have no idea when “Armageddon” will occur. It’s irrelevant anyway. We “shall not know the day nor the hour,” period. Best for each of us to live our lives as if this is our last day on earth.
The weird thing about the liberal/progressive leftists is that they do NOT believe we should, or have the right/responsibility, to forbid apocalyptic despotic regimes (i.e., Iran & N.Korea) from joining the nuclear club and thus becoming, obviously, capable of blackmailing the world . . . .but they DO believe that we can control the CLIMATE — the weather and mother nature.

EVERY fiscal conservative who is in business loves Palin because she is in favor of actually letting free-enterprise, work ethics, and the American “Dream” flourish without over-regulation and Big Government taxes. She is in favor of limiting run away government spending and control. She understands how the economy works. Liberals actually believe more government spending stimulates the economy? LOL The “stimulus” is an abject failure -”You can’t spend your way out of a recession, and you can’t borrow your way out of debt.” Daniel Hannon
Palin has the courage to speak out when the other politicians are waiting to see what’s “popular.” Palin has my votes, and even my friends who voted for Obama have “seen the light” and have voter’s remorse.

In her brief stint as governor, I can guarantee you she didn’t have a single thought about Russia. She was too busy spending your tax dollars.
Alaska is a welfare state! For every $1.00 they pay in federal taxes they get back $1.84. It means that liberal states like New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts subsidized Sarah’s spending spree.

CrazyRedneck — Osama Bin Laden is dead and has been since 2005. He wasn’t the mastermind anyway. He was just the “front man.” This war against Islamo-fascist terrorists has never been about killing/capturing one man — OBL. Seriously, this is NOT about revenge. Revenge is a weak man’s tool. This is about the survival of western civilization, plain & simple. And, quite frankly, I don’t know IF we’re gonna win that war or not. We’re winning battles — sort of — but the jury is still out on whether or not western civilization and CULTURE will survive.

Makes you wonder just how bogus this all is doesn’t it? Or, if you’re a “Pasvlov dog” meaning democrat/lib/prog/commie/Marxist loon you’ll blame Sara! We got the food control bill passed just after all the news about all those tainted burgers getting 5 people ill, and the dems have been on that “Net Neutrality” kick for a few years. Funny how impotent Obama is and how powerful Palin is to the left.
Posted by: WallyG | December 9, 2010, 10:30 am 10:30 am
You can read by the blogs against Sarah Palin naked fear on the left. A populist is going to win in 2012. Obama lost that mantle very quickly. Palin has not. She is the real thing.
With double base of support radical leftists have, Palin only has to grip 1/8th more of US voters to win in a landslide. This applies to any other Conservative populist who runs.
Over the last three decades polling data, even from the NY Times, show overall Conservatives have risen to the most educated, and successful citizens in America. Less than 5% are unemployed for example. Since the draft ended 19 million have served this nation – 80% of these people are conservative. Conservatives have also begun to dominate news media – for example more watched Fox’s election coverage than ABC. Glenn Beck’s “footprint” is 30 million people per week. The Drudge Report larger than that. It is easy to estimate Conservatives will send well over a billion dollars in quite small increments to support a populist conservative Presidential candidate next round.
This person will run on one major theme: Bust up Washington power in this country and unleash the biggest economic boom in history. Obama will try and debate his record, and it will be found wanting…

I find it interesting that people view the retaliation against Palin’s denouncing of Wikileaks as some ironic move by free speech advocates against free speech. It’s not.
Palin wants Assange and his compatriots SILENCED. If anything, THAT’S the attack on free speech that’s happening here. The retaliations are tantamount to a protest against that controlling stance that the former governor is taking.
Imagine a scenario where the President announced that anyone who says bad things about the government should be considered a traitor and arrested. Then you have numerous protestors show up outside the White House with signs holding up traffic. If you’re saying that the Anonymous people here are the enemies of free speech, it’s like saying those protesters (and NOT the President) are the attackers.
Craziness.

Sarah Plain is NOT a regular person–she’s a millionaire. She’s positivley LOADED, and getting more so by the second thanks to people snapping-up her book, her huge speaking fees, and her television appearances. In the same way that some folks could take a President born in Connecticut, educated at Harvard and Yale, son of a President, and grandson of a Connecticut Senator and call him a cowboy. YEAH, RIGHT. This is not June Cleaver, or even Rosanne. This is a woman who fleeced the RNC for a wardrobe and gave it back only when caught. Liberal media lies? Ask McCain and his staff, the SANE republicans who were stuck putting up with her diva-of-the-tundra bunk. This is Peg Bundy with a MASSIVE chip on her shoulder and a vastly over-inflated sense of her own skills.
As for her valuable experience being Governor of Alaska, ALASKA HAS A SMALLER POPULATION THAN MILWAUKEE COUNTY! In statistics, the smaller the sample size, the higher the probability that you’ll get an oddball result, and boy, what an odball result.
And all this “we’ll get you” talk from conservatives is a BLAST. After you’ve finished your little Glen Beck crying sessions, come on over, and I’ll give you the welcome that decent, working people all across this country have been dying to give you ever sice your shrill, pathetic, FAKE patriotism started crowding ACTUAL NEWS of the airways.

Let me get this straight. If you like Sarah Palin and support her, and that is your opinion, according to some of the posters, you are a moron. Is that correct?
Why is it that liberals say conservatives are so mean and nasty and fight dirty, yet they are the ones who trow out hate bombs and derogatory remarks to anyone with an opinion outside of theirs?
Whether you like Sarah Palin or not was not the issue of the article. The fact that Palin has exercised her free speech in debunking the Wikileak criminals and has had her personal e-mail attacked, her PAC Sight and her credit card information makes it a criminal offense and is in fact a felony. Just ask the kid in Memphis who is serving one year in prison for doing less.
As to the intelligence of Sarah Palin, because you hate her and what she stands for doe snot mean she is stupid. She was smart enough to run for Gov of Alaska and win, she was smart enough to be picked to run for the VP position. She is smart enough to use her influence to get democrats thrown out of office and real conservatives in. She is smart enough to have landed book deals and a television program that has made her a millionaire.
I have read her books, and I watch her show. I find her refreshing, smart, conservative, a person of strong faith, morals and she holds a more Regan point of view than any of her counter parts, which is what I like. I like that she can shoot, hunt, fish, deal with bears, critters and Katie Courac (would Katie be classified as a critter.
She is not merely beautiful on the outside, but on the inside too and she is also very smart. You do not get where she is today by being dumb.
Now, for those that are posting here today who have an opposing view to mine; that is your right and privilege and for the record, as veteran, I fought for you to have that right and will continue to do so. And for the record, lets you think I am dumb and a moron for having an opinion outside of yours, I am a certified expert witness, I teach seminars throughout the country, I am an author, and my IQ (the last test I took) was around 160.

ALl of this Palin whining. I’ve never seen so much WHINING in my life. It’s like you people feel like America OWES her something somehow–like somebody who feels entitled to sit at home and collect welfare checks, Palin feels entitled to the Oval Office even after she quit her job so that she can make bufoonish TV appearances. Sorry Princess, no handouts this time.
Are we scared of you? Not so much scared as really ticked-off. Imagine if a QB played only a couple of games, might have actually cost his team through some bad decisions, voluntarily decided to bench himself for the remainder of the season, and was still lobbying for an MVP award–you’d call BS on him. Wanna win award? EARN IT.

“The fact that Palin has exercised her free speech in debunking the Wikileak criminals…”
Well I suppose that ‘fact’ really depends on what sort of glasses you’re wearing this morning. Through mine, it’s clear that she’s trying to hide behind ‘free speech’ in order to inhibit the free speech of others.
What ever happened to the premise, “My right to swing my fist as much as I want ends where another man’s nose begins”? She can say whatever she wants about how terrible Wikileaks and its supporters are. But the moment she starts advocating the cessation of THEIR free speech, that’s where she’s crossed the line.
Make no mistake, I wouldn’t condone the extent of the web’s reaction as it spreads to illegal access to credit cards and whatnot. But I do agree with the spirit of the effort against her, which is, “Don’t try to inhibit our right to express ourselves, our ideas, and the free flow of information”

Free speech has consequences. When you advocate for the execution of someone who has not committed any crimes, you shouldn’t be too surprise Sarah when people take issue with it.
Im not condoning the cyber attacks, but i see them as a response to Sarahs incitement of violence (though perhaps not the response she was expecting).

These cyber-criminals targeting legitimate businesses and private citizens should be taken down – and hard. What a gives a bunch of hackers the right to target whoever they chose without consequences, just because they “support” Wikileaks and Assange?
Those of you attacking the Palins ought to be ashamed of yourselves; that is, if you are capable of shame. I have never seen a worse hatchet job on a upstanding and private citizen in my life – and this writer has seen some nasty politics in his time. What is being done to them is way over the line, beyond the pale. Hacking a private person’s credit card records, becuase you dislike their politics?
This psych-ops attack shows all the hallmarks of the kind of thing Obama’s communist supporters would do. If we still have functioning law enforcement agencies in this country, they’d better get to work on this. It’s gotten way out of hand.

JFritzi — well, apparently, the “glasses” you’re wearing demonstrate that you believe that Sarah Palin has the right to “free speech” but only at her own PERIL, right?
Joe Lieberman said the same thing Sarah Palin did. Do you think it’s acceptable for wikileaks supporters to hack his website and steal his personal data and credit cards as RETALIATION for saying that “Assange should be charged with espionage?”
Posted by: KarenDa | December 9, 2010, 11:20 am 11:20 am
I’VE FIGURED THIS WHOLE THING OUT:
If Palin’s so qualified, who might be even better?
It would have to be somebody with comperable leadership experience. Let’s say somebody like a former mayor of Cleveland, since ALASKA’S POPULATION IS ONLY SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN CLEVELAND.
I suppose Sarah has a lot of TV experience, some of it really goofy and tastless. In order to find a more qualified candidate, we’d have to find somebody with an even longer TV resume, since doing TV shows now counts as “experience” somehow.
LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, I GIVE YOU: JERRY SPRINGER FOR PRESIDENT!!!
It’s perfect–I’ve watched his show a few times, and it looks like he communicates very well with the type of people who typically support Palin. At least he’ll put a stop to any chair throwing, which is more than I can say for the Tea Party folks.

First off, if you think Obama has done a poor job so far (which he has) I assure you Palin would be equally as bad if not worse.
She has no idea of monetary policy, foreign policy, half the stuff she says is ridiculous and I severely doubt her understanding of the constitution. She hijacked the Tea Party which should be named the “rich white old people party” and promotes fear and warmongering.
I am a Conservative. Something that the Republican party has drifted away from.
I could care less if gay people get married… I’m not gay so that doesn’t matter to me. I think drugs should be legalized. The way I see it if my daughter becomes a druggie I failed as a parent. I believe in Jesus Christ but I don’t want him in our government. I KNOW the war in Iraq is a sham. If you can’t admit that then your just being blind. I’m pro-life and pro-choice (depending the circumstances). Also I’m a member of the NRA. I pay ALL of my taxes and am willing to pay more taxes to get this country back on track. I support Wikipedia because they picked up where the popular new media has failed. Finally I am against the Patriot Act because it is unconstitutional.
Posted by: NewAmerica | December 9, 2010, 11:32 am 11:32 am
Also, I really think the tenor of political discussion in this country is becoming toxic. If we insist on a two party system it is in our best interest to refrain from making caricature out of one side or the other. Why can’t we burn our party line cards and admit sometimes one party makes more sense than the other? That being said, every time I see Sarah Palin speak all I hear is “On the good ship lollipop..” Really the right deserved better than her.
Posted by: Aaron | December 9, 2010, 11:33 am 11:33 am
Sarah Palin has strength of character. She is not afraid to stand up for righteousness, to speak out against what is wrong. Her personal integrity is what we need in leadership. Our government is infested with too many lacking in what Sarah has. That is why she is hated. She will not go along to get along with corruption.
Posted by: stesse | December 9, 2010, 11:33 am 11:33 am
“…you believe that Sarah Palin has the right to “free speech” but only at her own PERIL, right?”
What I believe is that advocating the removal of, and prosecution of, others’ free speech can hardly be construed as defensible, and is the true irony of the situation.
As for the retaliation, I have already indicated that the extent to which those involved have gone is in excess of what I personally would support. Just like picketers should not hunt down their boss’ grandma and beat her up during a strike. So, too, is stealing personal and credit card info a bit too much.
But do I support that they are protesting her attack on the free flow of information by bombarding websites with excessive traffic so they become impassible? As our beloved little mama Grizzly would say, ‘You betcha ;)’

If you want to get a rise out of the left and have them show you their best intellectual means of coping then this is probably as good a example as any. Communist always talk about equality, as long as they approve of what you have to say and when you say it. They are the ultimate control freaks and they are now demonstrating to the world just how they will make a mess of anything that has the ability to keep them from the agenda of chaos and use it to control the masses(their words).
The communist axiom is
simple, “Communist always lie.” but you can throw in cheat and steal for yucks, they want what you have no matter how hard you worked for it.

Really — you support that type of active attack on any website merely because the author of the website disagrees with you? That IS what you are saying.
The Wikileaks disclosure of secret and highly sensitive data and information — by a foreign national — is obviously an act of espionage. You don’t really draw any lines in the sand, do you Fritzi? Everything is fair game . . .except most likely if it affects you personally.
I’m assuming you are not an American. If not, I “get” your distain for the US. That’s very “European” of you . . .until, of course, the next time your country’s foolish, appeasing policies turn your country into a poverty stricken, bomb-leveled piece of property. Palin is just another political pawn, just like Obama. Bravo for getting caught up in the charade and not realizing that she was saving face for her next political career move. Assange should be released and given a medal. The government thinks we’re all too stupid to handle their truths.
We need someone like Assange to expose corporations and governments to let them know that the power of the people still exists, and that we aren’t all just mindless sheep.
Palin, like all the other politicians, is scared that the house of cards is going to fall if and when the American People wake up and realize whats been going on.
She publicly condemned Assange and compared him to Al Qaeda for free speech, a comparison that is grossly misused. If she were in a position of power she probably would start an anti-terrorist campaign against him just to look good to her supporters.
Assange’s sources within America may be the most patriotic Americans alive, protecting and upholding our constitution from enemies both >domestic< and foreign.
By saying Assange should stop what he's doing and be taken down you're also saying you prefer to have your government continue to tell lies and manipulate the media so you can continue living an oblivious life thinking our government is comprised of saints.

Terrorism on a global scale thru the cyber community. Malcontents have found a way to strike out at everyone and every thing thru thier computers while they hide in their homes and caves. This is the new global war. countries do not have to risk lives to do damage to thier perceived eneimies or people of different thoughts or relegions. They pertend to be warriors of virtue fighting the good fight. In reality they are cowards who hide in the dark of night playing video games. Nations, businesses nor individuals are safe from the individuals who are bent on the destruction of our world and all civilization. Eventually the goverements will have to mount an attack upon them and defned everyone before they destroy all of our infrastructure and put thousands of lives at risk.

And when oh when will will the world get the Right to Free Speech straight?
This is a constitutional right that protects citizens from GOVERNMENTAL intrusion. It doesn’t grant one immunity from the reaction and response of the rest of the world to whatever one chooses to utter, as both Sarah Palin, and Julian Assagne, are finding out.

Sara Palin called for Julian Assange to be hunted down like Bin Laden…
You’re in denial if you think that is Freedom. That is to scare anyone who wants to tell the truth, even though it wasn’t Assange who downloaded those documents from the pentagon. He was given them from an insider.

Sarah Palin just exposed herself as another politician who does what she thinks is popular, not right. She has no real inner guide…money is her inner compass. She’s a shallow twit.

To Citizen J:
FYI: Turns out that Bush (and the Brits) were NOT lying about Saddam Hussein seeking significant quantities of “yellowcake” uranium from Africa. Yellow cake can be enriched for use in nuclear reactors. Now we know Bush did NOT lie . . .thanks to some of those docs Wikileaks leaked to the world in October.
And, in 2008, before President Bush left office, our military shipped out of Iraq — on 37 flights (planes) in 3,500 barrels — what even The Associated Press called “the last major remnant of Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program” — 550 metric TONS of the supposedly nonexistent yellowcake.
So WHY didn’t the Bush Admin want this known back in 2003/2004?? WHY was Bush willing to be called a liar and a war criminal when he wasn’t lying? Well — probably b/c the US military would not remove the FINAL (most likely) 550 metric TONS of yellowcake uranium from Iraq . . .until 2008.
I don’t know — maybe it is okay that that fact be revealed now since we’ve got the yellowcake and Iraq/Saddam no longer does.

Unbelievable the amount of Palin bashing here. People keep churning it out, which is beside the article’s point. No one can bash her substantively. She was logical in executive management performed in Alaska – keeping the state budget in order (exemplifying executive skills long before [o]bama was vacant for any senate vote…hmmm). Nor can they bash her American foundational vision that she identified while running for vice president (make perfect sense to bash American values here…right!?) So…the bashers have to attack her personally. Man, doesn’t that just reak with virtue, truth and accountability, huh?

I don’t believe it would be wiki leaks or the hacking story to be true. Palin is a megalomaniac among other psychological disorders and she has to interject herself into events that are getting more attention than she is. She has a persecution complex and I really think the Palin media machine made this stuff up. If she really has the strength of character her kool aid drinking supporters think she has she would not be constantly whining about be treated unfairly. Strong character more likely she is. (as in cartoon character.)

Whatever I think of Assange broadcasting information, my first clue as to his character is that he stole this information and published it without the permission of the person or organization that he got it from. Where I come from that is theft. I do want to know what the government is up to, but this is not the way. The means do not justify the end. And as far as the Sarah Palin bashing – you don’t kick a dead horse. And she is alive and kickin’.

Over 70 other tribal elders receive death threats, U.S. Congressman calls on death penalty for leaker Manning
It’s been a nightmarish last few months for U.S. Military officials. First they discovered that a young soldier serving in Iraq had acted as a spy passing documents to the site Wikileaks. Then they endured Wikileaks release of 90,000 U.S. Military documents — many of them classified — detailing their operations in Afghanistan.
The Taliban, a radical Islamic militia in Afghanistan, announced its gratitude to Wikileaks for the release and vowed to hunt down those revealed in the documents to be collaborating with the U.S. It appears that they have now made good on that threat.

After all she is a private citizen and now has to EARN her money whereas OBummer and his fed just take ours or print it out of thin air and give it as I mentioned before!

Posted by: hARPOTOO | December 9, 2010, 2:37 pm 2:37 pm
Kat, the reason Palin is attacked so much is due to the media who saw her reinvigorate the Republican Party when McCain picked her as his VP. She is in direct opposition to the agenda of a very liberal media and therefore a major threat to them. The people who attack her and insult her, such as on these blogs, are simply victims of the media’s soundbites and personal attacks against her and believe she is evil simply by what the media infers. Notice that the media never attacks the issues she stands for because she is so strongly pro-American and right-on with the American public which tends to be conservative.

I think Palin is hated also because she is a self-professing Christian. So people want to see hypocrisy in her either as proof that God does not exist, or that she is a hypocrite and liar. Who would you rather be in a foxhole with – a true Christian who values what God values – or a secularist who is out for self-preservation only? I know a lot of people who are not Christians who do many good things – but a true Christian treats others as they would want to be treated. I am not saying I know for sure Palin is a Christian, I don’t – but the media is all over Christianity to portray it as evil. But that is to be expected.

Governor Palin resigned to save taxpayers money when liberals resorted to frivolous litigation of which she was completely exonerated. Yes, she makes money and I’m happy for her! Only liberals buy into class warfare as they are the entitlement mentality. In America, the American dream means opportunity, hard work, ethics, and entrepreneurship. Liberals are what’s wrong with America. Palin represents what’s right with America. She understands the constitution and the Bill of Rights protect the individual against government control!

Mansour still calls her “Governor?” Please. She quits anything that involves hard work – but whines to make it look like she was persecuted. She can’t make it on her knowledge of politics, policy or history so she plays the celebrity game. Sicko.

Wow, silly me, that’s a hard-hitting psychoanalysis you’ve published there. Tell us, where did you get your psychology degree, and how long has Sarah Palin been your patient? Obviously several years at least since you’ve been able to make multiple diagnoses.
Or is it actually true that you are singularly unqualified to make such diagnoses? A touch of projection, perhaps?
Posted by: Silly You | December 9, 2010, 3:14 pm 3:14 pm
Sarah Palin has the intellect of a blow-up doll. Sometimes i’m amazed that she is capable of performing such simplistic tasks as personal hygiene without assistance. The unfortunate thing is that her sheer stupidity hasn’t impeded her ability to type. However, the fact that anyone reads her blithering drivel seems to reflect the disturbing truth that there exists a demographic in America which is perfectly content to wallow in the cognitive equivalent of a pitch-black basement.
Sarah Palin is not an expert. On anything. Perhaps tying her shoes this morning was a huge personal triumph–and far be it from me to disparage the tiny victories–but it certainly isn’t grounds to consider oneself an expert on information security.
Posted by: blackHat | December 9, 2010, 3:34 pm 3:34 pm
Liberals attack Palin — and other conservatives like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh — because when people listen to those conservatives, they learn the truth about what liberals and the Democrat machine are trying to do to the country, to us, to American history.
That’s why liberals are always trying to corral certain groups of people — blacks, illegal immigrants, gays — and convince them that the “evil GOP” is against them, because they know that the more people that know the truth, the less power the Democrat machine will have in government.
But, the bright side is that when they can’t argue with your ideology, because they know you’re right, the Left resorts to name-calling, personal attacks and such. So when you hear libs call a conservative “stupid” or “dumb” or “ugly,” it means you can bet the conservative has told you something true that Dems don’t want you to know.
Posted by: Al Santangelo | December 9, 2010, 3:35 pm 3:35 pm
That is absolutely correct. Sarah Bin Palin is dumb as dirt and is lucky if she has an 85 IQ. The fact that you support her demonstrated that you also have a low IQ and lack discernment. If you support Palin, you are a poor judge of character and nothing you say can be taken seriously. In fact, everything you say or post is irrelevant and cannot be trusted. Supporting Palin is like calling Hitler a good man.
Posted by: Robert | December 9, 2010, 3:51 pm 3:51 pm
Sorry Linda, Alaskans don’t HAVE an income tax so she didn’t save us a dime. The “frivolous litigation of which she was completely exonerated” – does that include the FACT that she was found to have abused her power when she fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan over his refusal to let go a state trooper involved in a contentious divorce with Palin’s sister. Special counsel Stephen Branchflower leading the investigation, concluded Oct. 10 that Palin VIOLATED a state ethics LAW that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain. More to my point – show me ANY record of her working 14-16 hour days like most top staff did for the State of Alaska. She spent more time with Greta than she did with many of her commissioners. Can you spell F-R-A-U-D?
Posted by: AK Bear | December 9, 2010, 3:52 pm 3:52 pm
mmmm…let’s see. What makes us think that Sarah Palin is stupid? LOL. If you don’t know the answer to that question, you are probably even more stupid than Palin is. Maybe because she completely lacks intellectual curiosity. Or maybe it is the fact that the woman could not even come up with one magazine or periodical that she has read. Maybe because everything this woman says is stupid and is motivated by hate and shame and anger. Palin is the champion of the stupid, the abused, and those that falsely believe that they are “victims” of the US government. Let Sarah Bin Palin submit to an IQ test for the all the world to see and then we can settle this question once and for all. Most Palin supporters also believe that Obama was not born in the USA, even though his birth certificate has been all over the net and the TV since the time of his campaign. Stupid people cling to stupid lies. Why? Because they are stupid and they get emotionally attached to certain ideas..even if the ideas are proven false.
Posted by: Robert | December 9, 2010, 3:57 pm 3:57 pm
Okay lets see. Palin is for tax cuts, for smaller gov’t at the national level, state control of schools vs a Dept of Education, against gun control, against abortion, for prayer in schools, against gay marriage, supports ‘don’t ask, don’t tell, wants to seal the border, against amnesty, strong supporter of family values, strong Christian, proven strong action against those who abuse power, such as when she was elected governor and got rid of those Republicans who were stealing from the state and stopped the influence of big oil from state decisions, is for drilling for oil in Anwar, strong law and order advocate, against appointing liberals to the Supreme Court, was probably the most effective goveror Alaska has had in years, but wisely resigned to cover the huge mass of lawsuits she had to defend from liberals, can raise more money than anyone else in the Republican Party could ever come close to, was the symbolic force behind the Tea Party movement which resulted in a historic Republican win last month, defeated Joe Biden according to most polls in their one on one debate during the Obama/McCain showdown. Now libs, what is it that you say is dumb about Sarah?
Posted by: Sparky2 | December 9, 2010, 4:15 pm 4:15 pm

I guess that means you are a qualified psychologist who has administered the proper tests to Mrs. Palin to render that diagnosis? As to your claim that she doesn’t believe in the Constitution of the United States…prove it if you can. If one has a problem with Sarah Palin’s ideas then counter them. But that’s not the tactic of the Left. Because they cannot prevail in the marketplace of ideas, these small-minded people must slander, smear and attack her reputation, threaten her and her family physically. This woman and her family have been the object of so much hate that she seems to have unbelieveable inner strength. Some of the high-flying hypocrites on this thread who say she or the Tea Party folks lack an understanding of the Constitution would do well to investigate polls relating to the matter. They will find the truth to be quite to the contrary.

It is through secrecy that fools and evil men are able to stay in power. It is the right of every citizen to be informed about the workings of our government. Why? Because we are supposed to be the epitome of self government on this earth. Without transparency, we are unable to make informed decisions about how our government should behave.
And, by the way, these people launching DDoS attacks… they ARE NOT hackers. They are just teenagers who browse /b/ and have the modicum of intelligence required to aim the LOIC at an IP address.
To hack something requires more skill and patience than clicking one button in a DDoS program. Good job getting it wrong again, media. Why do I even bother reading your drivel?

If we don’t change, we are going to destroy ourselves and our country and we will be a third world that nobody gives a crap about. Wake up people! We are our own worst enemy!

@Cisco: The primary definition of the term “idiot” is “an utterly foolish or senseless person.” Palin qualifies, as apparently do you. For you to suggest that Palin knows or understands the Constitution better than Obama, when Obama was a *Constitutional Law professor* is patently ridiculous. It’s also obvious that you have no interest in facts, as it’s clear from what Palin has said in interviews that she has no clue about such things as separation of church and state, the First Amendment, and other fundamental topics.
The main problem with this country is that the population has been dumbed down by the mass media and conditioned to think of politics and global events as a form of entertainment that requires no rational consideration. That people like Palin can be considered anywhere close to qualified to lead the direction of this country is outrageous, irresponsible, and completely terrifying.
As for Assange, he has not broken any laws. Everything that he’s experiencing was experienced by Daniel Ellsberg when he released the Pentagon Papers — which showed that Nixon was a corrupt liar and the Vietnam War was ill-conceived. It’s not surprising that our current government is manifesting exactly the same behavior now, given the amazing similarities.
For Palin to have implied that Assange should be executed (i.e., that he should be “hunted down like a terrorist”) flies in the face of the First Amendment and manifests her approval of the corrupt practices of the government. She’s a traitor of truth, has been proven to be ethically corrupt, and has not a shred of value in terms of leadership potential — except perhaps to uncritical morons who think things like the Iraq War is just a game.
Wake up.

I believe in the ‘Rule of Law’. Laws MEAN something. You break the law, you go to jail! Why is it OK to hack the Palin’s credit card information because someone got arrested for rape?
Where I come from, rape is bad…..

When people attack someone for stating their opinion I wonder how the attackers would feel if someone returned the favor. I was brought up to be in the open and let people know who you are. Not hide behind an anonymous website. If you have problem with someone take it to them face to face. Do you really think Wikileaks will be out of business? All that will happen is a name change and he is back up and running. It is amazing that with all the problems in this world so much time is spent on this. Suck it up buttercup “Life is not fair”.

As usual everyone assumes things they don’t know, jump on the bandwagon as authorities on any given subject.
If infact someone hacked into Palin’s computer they were not expert hackers because Palin nor her experts would have known until all her information was stolen and out there for all.
Palin assumes Assunge or his people came after her because, she wants the public to believe it and to think only Sarah had harsh words for Assunge and nobody else had a word to say as the rest of us were to frightened to speak a word aganist Assange.
Assunge according to Sarah felt so threatened he came after ‘the only true American’ but not to worry old Sarah will save the rest of us.
No matter who you are, nobody has a right to hack your computer, take your personal information and those who do should do jail time. But we, unlike Sarah cannot point a finger at any one person with not an iota of proof and claim this is the hacker.
We do after all still live in America and though Palin does not consider most of us real Americans, we are, and we go on fact not rumor and fiction as Palin constantly does.

If Palin hadn’t made such a stupid remark, she wouldn’t be under attack. i am a supporter of almost all of what she says, but I can’t side with those that think that all of the WikiLeaks is nothing but bad.
Tell me, how else are we going to find out just what kind of BS our government is up to?

“WOW. So you don’t have to be a liberal to hate Sarah Palin.” – jeanne021556
Nah, just intellectually lacking.
Hey, I slam NoBo all the time and rightfully so but I don’t hate the man.

After watching all the US government classified material be printed in public by the Obama White House endorser – The NY Times, and after watching the President and his A G Holder speak about their handling of is — it could be that they actually embrace what is happening and have no intention of stopping it, or prosecuting those who are doing it.

The people backing operation:payback and wikileaks are starting something that I personally believed would soon happen. The US government and major corporations throughout the world are being brought into the light and they dont like it. This is the start of revolution. I wouldn’t be suprised to see more and more “Common Sense- Thomas Paine” type essays and documents being posted.

There’s nothing wrong with Wikileaks; People within wikileaks are leaving because they understand the difference.
I’m all for whistle blowing, but Assange is not doing that.
Whistle blowing is saying something like, “Soldiers bombed a school of kids to kill on terrorist.”
Whistleblowing is not like,
“Here’s a list of all American supporters in Iraq. Have fun, Taliban.”
Assange is not whistleblowing or acting on first amendment rights. Assange is releasing information detrimental to our allies in Iraq for the sole purpose of hindering activity in Iraq. That is not whistleblowing, that is tactical counter-spying.
He should be treated as a spy for the Taliban.
Until the public and media understand the difference, it’s not safe to allow this leader to continue.
Again, there’s nothing wrong with Wikileaks; People within wikileaks are leaving because they understand the difference.

I’m neither Democratic or Republican, not liberal or far right conservative. What I am is a person who was born in America, like our current President, and I believe that this country needs a lot of help or we will all be in trouble. Those who support Palin only do so because they have no other choice. They are driven by their hate of the fact that they lost the last elections. They are not driven by common sense otherwise they would see that Palin is the new day version of the beverly hillbillies. The woman is a puppet being used by those that she pays a lot of money to behind the scenes to make her look smart. That would take a miracle. The puppeteers control her. She has gotten her self so far in she can’t get out. I really feel sorry for her. She has to continued being pimped or she will fall fast and it’s back to Alaska where she is not wanted. The reason for the show is to keep her in good graces with the people of Alaska so she thinks she has something to fall back on. I don’t respect her but I do feel sorry for her. She has made her greedy bed and now she has to lay in it. It will get worse for her when the real gloves come off. She is out of her league.

Whistle blowing is esposing american drug companies for killing children in “experiments” in 3rd world countries. The U.S. is off it’s rocker defending a Fascist Corporate movement led by European royalty and y’all Republicans and Democrats are brainwashed idiots. Welcome to Fascism courtesy of braindead American Blind Patriotism!
