ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe reports: Maybe John Boehner’s waterworks are wearing off on Mitch McConnell… We saw some rare emotion from the Senate’s top Republican today as he bid farewell to outgoing Sen. Judd Gregg, R-NH. “When Judd walks out of this chamber…when he walks out of this chamber for the last time, he’ll leave an enormous void behind,” McConnell said on the Senate floor, stopping repeatedly to compose himself. Watch more here: “You’re certainly going to be missed,” McConnell told his departing colleague. “We wish you well in future endeavors. Thank you for your service. You’ve done an extraordinary job.” Gregg is retiring from Congress this year. In early 2009 he nearly went to work for the Obama administration as Commerce Secretary, but ultimately continued as New Hampshire’s senator.
