ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: President Obama’s endorsement of a tax deal he reached with congressional Republicans leaves him in the awkward position of now having to sell that deal to his fellow Democrats. We covered the president’s unusual challenge on ABC’s “Top Line” today with Roll Call’s David Drucker and ABC’s Karen Travers, who covers the White House. Drucker told us that the president has a “50-50″ chance of getting his plan through on Capitol Hill, even though he’s already announced it as a done deal. “I don’t think the president’s done a very good job of selling this plan,” Drucker told us. “He came out, basically said it’s was a lose-lose, and something he’d rather not do but, ‘Oh well, we have to do it,’ because the alternative is worse. And that doesn’t help your cause when Democrats who are already going to have a problem with it.” Watch the segment with Karen Travers HERE.   And watch the portion of the program with David Drucker HERE.   –Rick Klein
