When little he does is good, there’s little to praise.
Before rewarding him with undue praise prematurely based on unfounded success like all his supporters do, I’ll just wait for true confirmation from his doctor in a few months. Only then will we know if Obama has truly quit.

True enough.
According to an early December press conference, President Obama never once gave into temptation in spite of stressful political negotiations such as the tax deal and ARM.
Press Secretary Gibbs stated, “He’s stubborn” and “It was a commitment that I think he made to himself at the end of health care debate and with his two daughters in mind.”
Nothing Obama does will ever be good enough for those who loathe this President. But for the rest America this has been a demonstrative example of will-power and hard work. Good for him.

The legislation signed into law that she supports does indeed limit school bake sales. Given the flexibility afforded in the law, it remains to be seen to what degree they will be limited.

She’s in the pocket of big-junk food, right? The only interests she’s looking out for are the interests of local parents and administrators. You may have forgotten but our country was founded on the principle of such local control.

That’s unfortunate, but it’s not government’s place to legislate what anyone eats or what they feed their children.

Only under socialized medicine. If people paid for their own treatment, it wouldn’t cost those living responsibly anything. I’m glad to see a liberal recognize one of the many pitfalls of socialism.

1. If it’s the responsibility of parents, not government, then there’s no need for government legislation.

Michelle learned to lie like a politician from the best of them. I wish she would get a new hobby, though. Knitting doesn’t trample on the rights of your average American.

What moron in this day and age smokes? You still haven’t answered the question.Nor have you told us your medical school. Nor have you given us any evidence of any expertise in addiction therapy.How many new smokers are college educated?How many have advanced degrees?Last I heard Barack Obama wasn’t a child.Quitting is doable if someone really wants to quit-wanting to quit is the key.Unless of course that person has an addictive personality-what are you implying about Mr. Obama?

For those of us who are not addicted to cigarettes, it does not require a MD degree to read the U.S. Department of Health stats: Nearly 25% of adult Americans (that’s nearly 50 million “morons”) are addicted to tobacco. And each day 3000 “moron” children and adolescents take up the habit. More than 70% of “moron” smokers try to stop, but fewer than 10% succeed.
Clearly, for those who already ARE addicted, even with the knowledge that it’s bad for you, quitting is not easy.
In my view, Barack Obama does in fact care about the effects of second-hand smoke on his children and his own health, which is why he has taken on the hard work of quitting while also juggling a rather stressful job.
I understand you don’t agree with Obama’s politics, but surely, making the effort to quit smoking deserves more than constant criticism.

You have to quit long enough before the cravings go away. You can’t get there if you’re constantly caving to the craving. Again, Obama’s been “trying” to quit for several years now, at least before running for president.

It does if they’re still trying to act as if they’ve quit.

There’s no need as I’ve seen the affects of addiction and recovery first-hand. This may be a surprise to some, but addicts need to make a decision to recover and stick to it before they can actually recover. It does indeed take will-power and hard work. Quitting addiction is harder for people who aren’t in the habit of demonstrating such qualities.
