ABC News' Yunji de Nies and Sunlen Miller report:
It was another active vacation day for President Obama Friday, with a morning workout at the Marine Corps base, followed by an afternoon on the golf course at the same base, joined by friends Marty Nesbitt, Eric Whitaker, Mike Ramos and Bobby Titcomb.
The Obamas were ringing in the New Year at their Kailua vacation rental, along with family and friends. White House deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton said the group would be participating in the Obamas’ annual New Year’s Eve talent show. No word on what talent the president was planning to showcase, though everyone in the family is said to participate.
Burton also shared more titles off the president’s holiday reading list. Mr. Obama has been reading two novels and a biography: "President Reagan: The Role of a Lifetime," by Lou Cannon, "The Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet," by David Mitchell and "Our Kind of Traitor," by John le Carre.
The president has no public events scheduled Saturday.
