Director of National Intelligence James Clapper: Muslim Brotherhood “Largely Secular”

ABC News’ Jonathan Karl reports: Director of National Intelligence James Clapper raised some eyebrows today at a House Intelligence Committee hearing when he called described the Muslim Brotherhood as a “largely secular” organization.    “The term ‘Muslim Brotherhood,’” Clapper said, “is an umbrella term for a variety of movements, in the case of Egypt, a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has decried Al Qaeda as a perversion of Islam… They have pursued social ends, a betterment of the political order in Egypt, et cetera. … In other countries, there are also chapters or franchises of the Muslim Brotherhood, but there is no overarching agenda, particularly in pursuit of violence, at least internationally.” The U.S. State Department’s Background Note on Egypt describes the Muslim Brotherhood as a “potent political and religious force.” “The Muslim Brotherhood, founded in Egypt in 1928, remains an illegal organization and is not recognized as a political party (current Egyptian law prohibits the formation of political parties based on religion),” according to the State Department. Clapper also raised eyebrows last December when it was clear he had not been briefed on terror arrests in London before an interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer. Read about the December interview HERE.

Why is it that the articles like this one that shows whether or not a poster has been “paying attention” to the situation in Egypt…has no posts? LOL…LOL…I know…I just answered my own question. Any article where you have to have a modicum of intelligence and awareness…never gets any posts. And we wonder why our “political scene” is such a mess. LOL…LOL… MY point? Anyone who has been following this story would have heard this theme repeated consistently, many times…even by the “reporters on the ground”. Yet over “half” of our nation feels that the President hasn’t “handled this situation well”??? LOL…LOL I’m afaraid that too much of our nation is “dumbed down”, naive” and just totally unaware of what is actually occuring in our world today. I am starting to wonder if we can survive this ‘lack of intelligence”.

Mr Clapper is a nimrod who advises the President. Small wonder that Obama and Clinton have flip flopped like cod on Egypt. Is this the thing that VP Biden warned would seem like the President was making the wrong decision and would need our support? There have been so many judgement errors by the President that fit that description that one must wonder.

Is Clapper the guy who invented the gizmo that turns off your lamp? Naw, that would require more intelligence then this person.

Were Clapper and Biden separated at birth?
A real VIP – Very Imbecilic Person
Jamie Gorlick’s evil actions in the national intelligence arena were more of the garden variety treasonous nature.
Clapper seems quite capable of ineptitude that makes Biden look stellar by comparison
Quo warranto,B.O.?

According to Article Two of the “Hamas Covenant” “… The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the wings of Moslem Brotherhood in Palestine…”
According to Article Seven of the “Hamas Covenant” “… the Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to the realisation of Allah’s promise, no matter how long that should take. The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:
“The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. …”
According to Hassan Al Banna (who founded the Moslem Brotherhood in 1928) the Moslem Brotherhood aims are: …
(Unlike Clapper go and research for yourself)
According to Neville Chamberlaine, Hitler and the Nazis were dedicated to world peace.
According to me, both Clapper and Obama are an insult to the intelligence of the average American.

In the 1880s, Thomas Crapper and co. delivered “water closets” fit for a King.
In the 2010s, James Clapper and (Presidential) co, delivered “Intelligence Assessments” fit for the “water closet”.

Clapper, like so much of the political establishment, refuses to call a thing by its true name. There is no doubt that the MB is a religious, triumphalist organization that seeks shariah law in Egypt now and in the rest of the world later. It is in their charter and it is what their founder and current leadership say now to Arab speaking audiences. The Obama admin has to go. Their political correctness will get us killed.

The Muslim Brotherhood is illegal and outlawed in most MUSLIM countries-because they know what the organization really is: a front for radical Islam. They have publicly supported the Taliban. Some “secular” group this is! It is based on religion, not secularism. The name itself is a dead giveaway!
Where do we get these stupid people in government that don’t understand anything about their jobs?

mr.clipper, please study the history of muslim brotherhood. they could never become a peacefull party. look at what they are doing in europe, U.S. and canada. rather than respecting the law of their host country, they want to impose their beliefs and their sharia laws on those countries.
as much as i am happy for the egyption people for succeeding in topelling mobarak, i am deeply concerned about the future of egypt and especially the young generation that this victory could have not been possible without their sacrifices.they have to be carefull not to let some reactionary groups, especially muslim brotherhood not to hijack their revolution.
any hesitation in controling this fanatic group would bring the same misery to egypt as khomeini brought for iran.
i hope that this time unlike the numerous times in the past(supporting binladin, taliban and at some point sadam and even khomeini),the U.S. adminstration has made a tactfull evaluation of the situation and is not mislead by some naive analyisis of scholars and middle east experts like prof.Ajami, David Gergeen, Peter Bergen and naw Mr.clipper who thing that muslim brotherhood could be a part of democratic govrnment of egypt. I hate to see that MR.Binladin become the spiritual leader of egypt and Mr. ALzawaheri would serve as the president.
