Are you sure about that? So, FDR belonged in a mental institution? You said it.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt: “All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management. The very nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with Government employee organizations. The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress. Accordingly, administrative officials and employees alike are governed and guided, and in many instances restricted, by laws which establish policies, procedures, or rules in personnel matters.
Particularly, I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place in the functions of any organization of Government employees. Upon employees in the Federal service rests the obligation to serve the whole people, whose interests and welfare require orderliness and continuity in the conduct of Government activities. This obligation is paramount. Since their own services have to do with the functioning of the Government, a strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government until their demands are satisfied. Such action, looking toward the paralysis of Government by those who have sworn to support it, is unthinkable and intolerable.”

True enough, so the question you and the liberal media should be asking is what other inappropriate and unprofessional behavior transpired that we don’t know about that prompted his own staff to intervene on him.

I’m an Oregonian, and I admit I don’t even know his political affiliation. And I don’t care, because he’s not my Congressman.
Perhaps that’s not indicative of being an ‘aware voter’. I don’t care how it reflects on me; I haven’t run for public office.
Wu has. And he has higher standards to meet. I find him .. lacking.
I have, however, read more than one report on his activities. Forget the Halloween costume, his actions in an Airport setting adequately describe his public persona. Which is troubling.
I’m really uncomfortable with this guy representing Oregon on a national level. If we are represented by the people we elect … I don’t want MY private live associated with HIS private life!
He doesn’t represent me, or my social priorities.

Since the party affiliation was missing and this was a story about a politician who displayed inappropriate behavior but is now supposedly fit to serve, I knew he must have been a Democrat. One quick Internet search later confirmed it. Negative stories about Republicans always mention party affiliation, while negative stories about Democrats rarely do.
This is yet another example of that liberal bias liberals claim doesn’t exist. You’re going to have to try harder at fooling the American people, as they are wise to these oft-used liberal cons. Pathetic!

FTD, Frontotemporal Dementia (Picks) a rare form of early onset dementia (not Alzheimer’s), symptoms appear very much as Congressman Wu is experiencing. I hope he see’s someone who is familiar with this insidious disease, which destroys the brain, and the individuals affected.

The couple met their freshman year at Stanford University, two bright science majors who shared a new circle of friends. She was a hard-working idealist and active campus volunteer. He was a chatty pre-med student whose interests would later shift to law and politics.
David Wu, future Oregon congressman, and the woman later dated in their junior year. But that spring, in 1976, she broke things off. A few months later, an encounter occurred that neither wants to discuss.
That summer, the 21-year-old Wu was brought to the campus police annex after his ex-girlfriend said he tried to force her to have sex, according to Raoul K. Niemeyer, then a patrol commander who questioned him.
Wu had scratches on his face and neck, and his T-shirt was stretched out of shape, Niemeyer said.
Earlier, someone had interrupted a scuffle in the woman’s dorm room. A Stanford professor said the woman told him the next day that Wu had angrily attacked her. An assistant dean who counseled the woman for two months said that the woman called it attempted rape and that Wu used a pillow to muffle her screams.
Wu told police that what happened was consensual. “He said, ‘We just, I was with my girlfriend, and we just got a little carried away,’ ” Niemeyer remembered. After that, he said, Wu “clammed up.”
Wu, 49, issued a statement today admitting to “inexcusable behavior on my part,” confirming that he was disciplined by Stanford and asserting that he worked with a counselor after the incident.
“As a 21-year-old, I hurt someone I cared very much about. I take full responsibility for my actions and I am very sorry,” he said. “This single event forever changed my life and the person that I have become.” Wu’s admission comes after The Oregonian published its account of the incident today. He previously had declined multiple requests for interviews about the matter and did not respond to written questions. His campaign manager had said the Portland Democrat would not answer “unsubstantiated allegations.”

I don’t get it. Nothing in the stories I’ve read indicate anything that would be considered a mental illness. A dad sending out a picture of himself in a costume before halloween is nothing more than a Halloween greeting, and plenty of people do it on their facebook pages. What’s the big deal about the Klingon reference? Republicans compared Nancy Pelosi to the emperor in Star Wars not too long ago. This is very, very strange.

Mental illness is sad and serious. What’s worse is seeing a victim of mental illness who can’t or won’t admit they have a serious problem and continue to say “they are fine” when evidence indicates otherwise. He has lost a lot of trusted staffers. He needs to take a long leave or drop out entirely and finish his treatment.
