The Presidential Planner

ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: After receiving his regular rounds of morning briefings in the Oval Office with Vice President Biden, the President will host a meeting with a bipartisan group of governors in the State Dining Room.

The president's meeting with the bipartisan group follows a meeting Friday with a small group of Democratic governors and after hosting a governors dinner at the White House last night.

In the afternoon, the President will meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in the Oval Office to discuss the situation in Libya.

The two men will "discuss the humanitarian, diplomatic, legal and other actions needed to put a stop to violence against civilians and to ensure that UN agencies and UN members mobilize to provide humanitarian assistance to Libya’s people," the White House says.

President Obama will spend the remainder of the day behind-closed-doors at the White House.

Darn!
The president almost got it right.
He should have had a meeting with just the Republican Governors too.
Still too weak to lead but he’s getting closer, maybe?
Hope is dwindling daily
Change never bothered to show up.

Don’t you get the impression that Obama has run out of political capital and is having “meetings” because he doesn’t know what to do?His Middle East “response” clearly shows that behind the “brilliant” myth he is really a very shallow man with limited intellect.

This man kid is just plain DUMB.He needs to start drilling for oil,we have enough here in USA to supply us,and entirely independent ,however this dimmie has no BRAINS. He needs to be IMPEACHED for many many reason.

I don’t know how much longer the MSM can cover for this politician. He doesn’t handle crises well-remember his incompetent response to the oil spill? That seems to have gone down the memory hole.Too many “corpseman” moments, too many episodes of not doing his homework and making stupid mistakes-you get the sensation that he has been carried for most of his life by others. Now that he has gotten to the “Show” he just doesn’t have the talent.

WaPo reports:
“A week ago, Obama called legislation proposed by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) that would sharply curtail collective bargain rights ‘an assault’ on unions. At the same time, reports that his political operation, Organizing for America, was helping promote the massive protests in Madison added to Republican ire aimed at the White House.
“‘There is no doubt that Republican governors have stepped up their activity both against the Democrats in Washington and what OFA and [Democratic National Committee] and labor unions have done to get involved in these battles,’ said Mike Schrimpf, the Republican Governors Association spokesman. ‘While in the past there were policy disagreements, the president was never deploying his resources into the states.’”

Is this “code” for meeting with Trumka?

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies.
Over the past 5 years, our federal debt has increased by $3.5 trillion to $8.6 trillion. That is “trillion” with a “T.” That is money that we have borrowed from the Social Security trust fund, borrowed from China and Japan, borrowed from American taxpayers. And over the next 5 years, between now and 2011, the President’s budget will increase the debt by almost another $3.5 trillion.
Numbers that large are sometimes hard to understand. Some people may wonder why they matter. Here is why: This year, the Federal Government will spend $220 billion on interest. That is more money to pay interest on our national debt than we’ll spend on Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program. That is more money to pay interest on our debt this year than we will spend on education, homeland security, transportation, and veterans benefits combined. It is more money in one year than we are likely to spend to rebuild the devastated gulf coast in a way that honors the best of America.
And the cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the Federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing our cities and States of critical investments in infrastructure like bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on.
Every dollar we pay in interest is a dollar that is not going to investment in America’s priorities.”
Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
March 16, 2006
This is the speech Obama should have made to the Governors today.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 33% of Likely U.S. Voters would rather have Congress avoid a government shutdown by authorizing spending at the same levels as last year. Fifty-eight percent (58%) says it’s better to have a partial shutdown until Democrats and Republicans can agree on what spending to cut.

gee Dave, he just reads the speeches-he doesn’t believe them or even understands them.Cut him some slack-when he went to Columbia and Harvard nobody held him up to the standards of his peers.Neither should you; he is special and needs to be regarded as brighter than he really is.

Why bother with day to day Jake? It’s all about the 2012 campaign strategy isn’t it? We all know what’s really going on. Please spare us.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: If American workers are being denied their right to organize and collectively bargain when I’m in the White House, I’ll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself; I’ll walk on that picket line with you as president of the United States of America.
Uhhhhhhh… when can we expect you????? LMAO
Will you bring the 2 million federal union employees that have no collective bargaining rights with you, thanks to Jimmy Carter and Democrat controlled congress? LMAO

It’s pretty hilarious that many times the same people who make derisive posts like this then expect us to vote for a certified half-wit like Sarah Palin instead. Were any of her peers even at Harvard or Columbia?

What does Palin have to do with this?By comparing Obama to a “half-wit” you seem to be implying that they are equivalent.Sarah Palin is a celebrity-she has no electoral future at the Presidential level-have you been reading the news from this week?It is pretty sad that your only defense of Obama is by bringing up somebody else. I guess the George Bush excuse is running out of steam- or that the Bush record is looking better than Obama’s two years of spending and failure.

Not simply a celebrity, but someone who is most famous for being a celebrity.
I’m surprised Jake hasn’t mentioned her lately – he usually likes to drop her name as much as possible.
