I look forward to and really like the “behind-closed-doors” days at the WHite House.

It’s kind of scary actually, no one knows what their plotting to regulate, spend, or freedoms their going to try and take away next.

Those who fear regulation have very short memories.
Strong banking regulation after the Depression led to a healthy banking system until Repubs weakened the regs in the 90′s and then the banking problems started, culminating in the recent meltdown.
Strong regulation keeps our food, water, air and workplace fairly safe. Read your history to discover how bad things were for people before these regulations.
It is unrealistic to think that any country can trust corporations and companies to self-regulate. There isn’t an advanced country on earth that has clean air, water, food and worker safety without government regulations.

President Obama finally and quietly accepted his “transparency” award from the open government community this week — in a closed, undisclosed meeting at the White House on Monday.
How ignorant does this make the media look?????

Public fool Andrew Sullivan awakens to the fact that he’s been had:
“I’m still absorbing this news and don’t want to vent immediately, because there is still part of me that simply cannot believe that president Obama has already ordered covert action in Libya on one side in a civil war, and is now actively discussing whether to arm that side in another chaotic Muslim country, committing the United States to yet another war against yet another tyranny simply because we can.
“It’s so surreal, so discordant with what the president has told the American people, so fantastically contrary to everything he campaigned on, that I will simply wait for more confirmation than this before commenting further. I simply cannot believe it.”

Yes, unfortunately the free markets have driven gas prices back up to where they were before the Republicans crashed the economy. All these ‘conservative’ rainy day socialists now want us to think government policy should be able to fix it.

Update: Mark Hosenball cites four different sources saying Obama signed a covert order to arm the rebels 2-3 weeks ago.
Obama signed the order, known as a presidential “finding”, within the last two or three weeks, according to four U.S. government sources familiar with the matter.
Mr. Obama simply lied to the American people Monday night.

The West’s attempt to push Gaddafi from power rests on a force that can’t possibly accomplish it on their own.  NATO and the US will have to reconsider the parameters of their mission if they hope to avoid the embarrassment of a rout of the rebels, with an ascendant Gaddafi and his family atop the dictatorship once again.
Bungled.

Left wingers conveniently forget to mention that the Dems still control 2/3 of the voting. Congress can pass things (such as budget) but it has to make it through a Democrat Senate and a Democrat President. The Democrats had over a year to pass a budget without A Republican controlled house, and they didn’t do it. The reason? THEY WON’T QUIT SPENDING!

Please ask Mr Carney if there is any evidence chemical or biological “shells” from Libya’s stockpiles were sold to Hizbolla or Al Queda by the rebels? Also, is there any connection to Iran seeking to help Hizbolla or Al Queda purchase said weapons without Iranian fingerprints?

I think Skip is saying we can sell our stock to buy gasoline. Of course, the poor don’t have stock to sell so they will need help but I am sure that Skip has a plan to borrow money from China to buy gasoline and heating oil for the poor and unemployed.

Obama lied, people died:
“Rome – At least 40 civilians have been killed in air strikes by Western forces on Tripoli, the top Vatican official in the Libyan capital said Thursday, citing what he called reliable sources in close contact with residents. ‘The air strikes are meant to protect civilians, but they are killing dozens of civilians,’ Bishop Giovanni Innocenzo Martinelli, the apostolic vicar of Tripoli, told Reuters by phone.”

“We’ve been conveying a message to the rebels that we will be compelled to defend civilians, whether pro-Qaddafi or pro-opposition,” said a senior Obama administration official. “We are working very hard behind the scenes with the rebels so we don’t confront a situation where we face a decision to strike the rebels to defend civilians.”…
“This is a challenge,” said a senior alliance military officer. “The problem of discriminating between combatant and civilian is never easy, and it is compounded when you have Libyan regime forces fighting irregular forces, like the rebel militias, in urban areas populated by civilians.”…

The only thing that’s going to fix the economy is for Obama and his entourage to clear out of the way for the citizens to make things happen. Cut the bureaucratic red tape. Drill here for oil, revive the logging industry, mining, commercial fishing, ranching, and breath some life back into our country for Pete’s sake, by removing the layer upon layer upon layer of environmental restrictions. The chokeholds wrapped around our country’s neck that are continually heaped upon our economy by decades of environmentalist radical activists who want nothing less than reducing America to nothing.

And by the way, don’t start with the “Oh, so you’re for stripping our planet down and sterilizing the landscape” garbage. Since the country was founded there have been plenty of laws enacted already in the books that moderate the utilization of our natural resources. Liberals today act like it’s the year 1799 and not a single law has been written. Liberals want more and more and more and more regulation upon regulation upon radical regulation. Activist liberals need to cut the crap, and look out for our country first instead of their radical ideology.

I’ve been browsing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be much more useful than ever before.
