Asleep on the Job: What Was Vice President Joe Biden Doing During Obama’s Debt Speech?

Vice President Biden chose an inopportune time for either a nap or some deep reflection today.
As President Obama weighed in on one of the most important issues of the day, outlining his plan to deal with deficit reduction and attack the national debt, at least one audience member did not appear to be fully engaged.

Biden, at one point, could be seen apparently nodding off — or at least deep in thought. The bug was catching, too. The woman in glasses directly behind Biden appears to close her eyes too.

this was an election speech and not even an half hearted attempt to cut the deficit and not an presidential calibre statement to keep the deficit in check.There is no sacrifice by 1% contribution for AID to the foreign countries. It is not our duty to feed the poverty stricken countries when our own country is in trouble. As a small business owner I can tell you first hand that if your business stays alive long enough to start making some decent money you will NEED it to make up for those lean / lose money years. We don’t have cush Retirement and Health plans like Congress, we just pay for them.

Upfront: I’m not much for Joe Biden. He’s really kind of a bubbling ass BUT I don’t think he’s sleeping there. Closing his eyes maybe and taking a rest but not sleeping.
I will say this however, look at the people around him, they are having a hell of a time keeping their eyes open too. The person behind Biden is really zonked from the looks of things.

This great Vice President have been working night and day to help approve the budget, what do you all expect of him.
He is only human. Even God rested on the seventh day after working so hard creating the earth and all the things in it (Gen 2:2). The body is made to go for 8 hours not 12 day shifts from sun up to sun down seven days a week.
The Country needs to send them all on vacation. They have been dealing with countless issues and disasters here at home and around the world.
May God grant the Obama administration the strength and the much needed rest they need to complete there task.
This is a job I will not wish on any one. It has been quite tasking for them since day one.It is a blessing we have a younger President.

So, if VP Biden’s job more important than that of a air traffic controller, should he be suspended for sleeping on the job so as to set an example? Come to think of it, this is an inverse equality, that is we need an traffic controller to be alert to save lives, however when the VP is asleep we all are safe.

Biden is an example of our government at work. They have been asleep and the taxpayers will pay for it. Obama tax the rich even if the government takes every dollar that those of making over $100,000 ($1.5 trillion) would not pay for this years deficit. Who is he kidding. We need change in Washington.

I didn’t want to watch the trite and banal, marxist cliche-filled droning of America’s first Affirmative Action president simply because I didn’t want to go to sleep yet. And because he’s a pompous ass who is clueless about how real economies work. To say that the rich don’t “pay their fair share” is the heights of stupid statements since they clearly pay the vast bulk of income taxes. That is indisputable.
And since the Bush tax cuts supposedly eliminated $3.7 billion in tax revenue if you do a static analysis, eliminating the Bush tax cuts only for “the rich” would only recover $700 million of that. Not enough to stanch the bleeding of our government bleed-out.

I think the US needs to start looking into adding more holidays every year or having more vacation days for people to thirve better. Citizens of the United States are totally exhausted and this is pretty detrimental for their well beings and every Nation well being. If you saw the video showing Biden sleeping, another woman in the background was falling asleep too. America, wake up and start providing your people with a better lifesytle!!
