Donald Trump’s Solution on Gas Prices: Get Tough With Saudi Arabia; Seize Oil Fields in Libya and Iraq?
I had a feisty 35 minute sit-down with Donald Trump today in which he dug in on the “birther” controversy, answered Club for Growth’s charge that he is a “liberal,” talked about a possible independent run and answered your questions.
But we began with his get tough approach on gas prices:
Trump: Look at what’s going on with your gasoline prices. They’re going to go to $5, $6, $7 and we don’t have anybody in Washington that calls OPEC and says, “Fellas, it’s time. It’s over. You’re not going to do it anymore.” I don’t know if you saw yesterday, Saudi Arabia came out and said very strongly there’s plenty of oil. “We’re going to cut back.” You know what cutting back means? They’re going to drive up the price even further.
Stephanopoulos: So, what would you do to back up that threat?
Trump: Oh, it’s so easy George. It’s so easy. It’s all about the messenger. They wouldn’t even be there if it wasn’t for us. If it weren’t for us, they wouldn’t be there. These 12 guys sit around a table and they say, “Let’s just screw the United States.” And frankly, the rest of the world.
…
Stephanopoulos: And so finish this sentence. “If you don’t produce more oil…”
Trump: Look. I’m going to look ‘em in the eye and say, “Fellas, you’ve had your fun. Your fun is over.”
…
Stephanopoulos: So, you would threaten to take away that [security] protection?
Trump: Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. Let’s– let me tell you something. Oil prices might go down. Because there’s plenty of oil, all over the world. Ships at sea. They don’t know where to dump it. I saw a report yesterday. There’s so much oil, all over the world, they don’t know where to dump it. And Saudi Arabia says, “Oh, there’s too much oil.” They– they came back yesterday. Did you see the report? They want to reduce oil production. Do you think they’re our friends? They’re not our friends.
And Trump was even more specific on what he would do with the Iraq oil fields: seize them.
Trump: George, let me explain something to you. We go into Iraq. We have spent thus far, $1.5 trillion. We could have rebuilt half of the United States. $1.5 trillion. And we’re going to then leave. So, in the old days, you know when you had a war, to the victor belong the spoils. You go in. You win the war and you take it.
…
Stephanopoulos: It would take hundreds of thousands of troops to secure the oil fields.
Trump: Excuse me. No, it wouldn’t at all.
…
Stephanopoulos: So, we steal an oil field?
Trump: Excuse me. You’re not stealing. Excuse me. You’re not stealing anything. You’re taking– we’re reimbursing ourselves– at least, at a minimum, and I say more. We’re taking back $1.5 trillion to reimburse ourselves.

So we deposed a dictator to free a people, but since it cost us so much we should just stick around and siphon off their resources? Wow,
Also, there are ships out at sea unable to distribute their oil because the world does not have the refining capacity to convert it into petrolium products. Small problem.

The blood for oil from iraq comes in the form of imposing US picked candidates to loyally obey our demands of price fixing.
Recouping our cost? The vast majority of the money spent was ON BOMBING IRAQ. They didn’t ask us to destroy their cultural heritage, their schools, their hospitals. Were the people relieved when Saddam was out of power? Sure, thanks to a genius Psych Ops campaign blaming him for their demise, and not our greed.
Over 30,000 civilians dead the first week, because Saddam had WoMD’s; oh wait scratch that, there was no justification.

Trump sounds a little radical about seizing oil fields. When people can’t drive to work and have to cut their lifestyles in half then he won’t sound so radical. We are vulnerable since every time a company tries to drill offshore or in the Alaskan northern tundra, the environmentalists (read Democrat) shut it down.
Your lights are out, you can’t travel anywhere, food is not being delivered?, call the White House or your local environmentalist.

Your president has wasted us so far into debt it is a wonder you can buy anything with our worthless money. Next time do a little research on your man before you cast your vote. Elections DO have consequences.

Trump makes a lot of sense. He has the guts to say the truth.
The gas prices are so high now. If Trump
gets elected, the people who voted for him should pay lower gas prices and the liberals who makes fun of him should pay the high prices like 6,7 8 9 dollars per gallon.
Only the brave may enjoy the fruits of truthfullness.

Forget about Donald Trump! Isn’t there something the SEC or Treasury can do to require speculative oil traders to “put more skin int the game”? If they had to cover their trades w/ even 10 or 20% I bet this whole situation would change. Right now, I think they can buy millions of $ in speculative positions for just a few bucks.

He says he will run as an Independent if he doesn’t get their nomination for POTUS. So he’s just Ross Perot II, with smaller ears and more hair, out to spoil the Republican nominee’s chances of winning against the Obammunist only because he wasn’t nominated and is throwing a childish fit. Yeah, let’s seize the oil fields of foreign countries because we have a right to their oil, we need it more than they do, and we don’t have any oil resources of our own to develop.
Sounds like a good plan for starting another world war.
Posted by: John C | April 18, 2011, 8:35 pm 8:35 pm
Part of the IRaq plan from the start was to secure the oil fields and use their oil to help rebuild their country and pay us back. Where is the Iraqi oil..?…its not just for us its for them as well.
also, I’d rather the government be involved in “seizing” oil fields to lower energy cost than for them to take over health care.

You guys just don’t get it. Sure laugh all you want at this guy but he is EXACTLY CORRECT. OPEC is NOTHING WITHOUT US. YES I AM YELLING THEY ARE NOTHING WITHOUT US. Simple pull absolutely every sinle troop, foreign aid, and just simply any and all assistance from those countries. Then ban all American companies from doing business with them. Then sit back and watch them crumble, on their knees BEGGING US TO BUY THEIR OIL FOR EVEN $20 a barrell. OPEC NEEDS US WE DO NOT NEED THEM. We can get our oil from plenty of other sources. Win or lose thank you Trump for telling it like it REALLY IS.

IMO — the only reason Trump has any perceptible viability is because we have an idiot in the White House now. “You win the war and you take it.”… Excuse me, Iraq is a sovereign nation. Period. His language, as appealing as it may be to a lot of frustrated people, is sheer stupidity. He’s pandering and people are sucking it up.

I know who would have thought considering the idiot in chief Obama has made his police to first help George soros with Petrobras in Brazil by giving them a couple billion US $$$ to drill and now just today I read an article of him giving Columbia a couple of US billion for them to drill too so they can sell their oil to us at a huge profit all while starting a couple more war fronts. It was bemusing and confusing and disappointment that, after ABC news extensive piece explaining there is surplus of oil in the world and that high gas prices are being driven by speculators, that Trump proceeded to give his insight and solution; blackmail countries to increase production. Why bother with Middle Eastern Oil? America could export MORE than the Middle East and make oil the most plentiful commodity on the planet. We could develop Federal Lands and drive down the deficit with the revenue. Our energy sector could well be the location of the next Gold Rush, if we are willing to face down the special interests that bound our hands.
I think we should be reimbursed for our efforts to pacify the Middle East, but I am uncomfortable with saying that we should make demands at the point of a gun.
As far as the Donald goes, I wish the GOP could match his tenacity without his trademark eccentricities.

Trump has a good point, our services shouldn’t be free. But we shouldn’t even be in Libya at all because we are in debt and need to take care of our own problems before wasting money on policing the world. Let the rest of the world start taking care of itself or charge them for being police.
Really though, I have to agree with Phil, we would be a lot better off if we could develop a renewable energy solution. The Arab world, with out all its money from oil, would for once be forced to change its barbaric, medieval social and religious structures in order to survive.

US Contractors, US oil companies, US fire fighters, US everything involving exploration, labor, intelligence, production, delivery, has it’s fingerprints on all of that oil, all over the world!!!If it wasn’t for the United States’ workers, intellectuals, investors, there would be no oil above the surface, and there is plenty of that in the United States and other places around the world, but we consider that a nuisance!!! That black gooey stuff that gets on your golf shoes or your swimsuit, especially in California, where offshore drilling is prohibited, especially in/where the most lucrative prospective spots to drill would be, where the (“Black gold”) oil is rising to the surface naturally!!! To seize their oil would be justified, but unnecessary, close down operations there, give tax incentives here to return home, drill here, tap into our own thousands of years supply (Oil is a juice of the earth, that keeps replenishing itself as long as the earth keeps spinning and the formations under the surface of the United States is a perfect place for it to accumulate)Withdraw technology back into the United States, create jobs at home instead of around the world!!! We give them work, pay them for their voluntary bodily functions/movements/labors/intellect, yet they hate us!!!! They are treated better than us by our government, if we exchange our voluntary body movement for financial reward, we owe our government/Al Capone a chunk of it!!!

answer to Oil Hydrogen Why we are not using it There is no money in a completely renewable fuel. and before you say it takes more power to separate hydrogen and oxygen in H2o read some real science not abc Nbc news oil propaganda but real science. It is extremely simple and most people after reading could convert there gas engine over as well as produce it from a home built hydrogen generator powered by 3 solar panels. Honda already has a system done but it has been banned from US imports wonder why? A: globalist corporate can’t rape you for the price of water. And No it is not any more volatile and dangerous than gas, that is more american oil lobbyist lies it is equally as explosive as gasoline in many cases it is far better in test due to the speed of expansion and dispersion it flames up and burns out extremely fast instead of covering you in a sticky wet oil based fire. the answer is there but Americans just believe NBC ABC propaganda BS to keep you enslaved to oil. you have a super library your typing on just read and learn, question your overseers for god sake.

Look around, are you not struggling to pay for gas and groceries? Venezuela sells gas for !2 cents a gallon, we have more gas here so why are we paying $3.79 a gallon today here???

Really, he is correct. We are spending ridiculous amounts of money and we should just TAKE everything that we need. What does being nice get us???? NOTHING… Drop a nuke in the middle east and there will be no more problems. All of you will want to argue and say how this is wrong but think about it. Who are we helping? OUR country needs so many things and that would be the answer. The middle is is only problems. We are powerful. The strong survive.

PLAY TRUMP CARD!
If you really want to destroy these beautiful United States of America,
please do vote for Mr. TRUMP CARD. It surely will expedite the process.
Before you do that, please check the following so-called RUMORS about
the TRUMP CARD:
1. He was not born in the United States either (Birth Certificate?)
2. He is a Jew but claims to be a Christian (Bar Mitzvah or Baptization?)
3. He is promoting Gambling (Casinos), womanizing (adultery) and admitted
SCREWING Qaddafi on TV (committing acts of cheating and fraud)
4. Ask him where did he get all the money from? PROOF OF THE PRODUCT?
5. He could not manage three wives, admitted his failure and divorced them.
6. One of his daughter is having or had a child out of wedlock (Family values?)
7. And many more to come.
Please ask him to rebut these so called rumors by providing documentary evidences from the local, the state and/or the federal authorities before OFFICIALLY announcing his candidacy for the highest elected office in
the United States of America.
A man, who cannot manage his own personal affairs, has repeatedly failed in business VENTURES, divorced his wives and has no moral values to speak of, how can he manage the affairs of more that 300 million people
of the United States of America? THINK and Think again!
He’s an inexperienced dude with NO real plan for the country, (he’s like a snake oil charmer, selling hope in a bottle to the masses). He will tell you that he can get rid of trillions of dollars of debt in the first year of his presidency, “Yes, he can.”
That‘s what he has done all his life. He will put the United States on the BLOCK and sell it to highest bidder, including China, get rid of the debt
and everything will be fine and dandy. Your children and grandchildren
will not have to pay anything to any one .
United States of America, the greatest nation on this earth will be
FREE at last from all those hypocrites, who are bickering about the debt
and cannot balance the budget. FREE at last, free at last, once for all,
FREE AT LAST.
May God bless America and save us all from the evil intentions of
Mr. TRUMP CARD, Amen.

It just amazes me that people can’t see the obvious: Trump is an Obama supporter. Trump could not live without maintaining the good graces of the unions in the places he owns real estate. He is putting people on here. Some sharp political operative has figured out the the dim bulb side of the “conservative movement” is highly gullible to specific kinds of rhetoric. And Trump is spewing all of it from the birther nonsense to the warmongering nonsense to the tariff imposition nonsense. Trump is helping to get Obama elected on a non-majority plurality via a split conservative vote. Man there are a lot of dumb people in the US. They just completely ignore a man’s history and nature and just get all gooey over words he merely says but obviously doesn’t mean.

PLEASE, please, please, let the Donald last at least as long as the primary debates!!! Trump is closer to the truth than most people are comfortable with. He’s probably not running, but he’s changing the debate to a hard edge. It’s about time: I mean look at Iraq, we went over there and our troops died and what do we have to show for it? Oil from Iraq goes to China.
Too bad we’ll be stuck with Obama or Romney, and More of the Same Congress.
The USA is not ready for Trump who means business. Perhaps we will get luck and Mexico will annex California-that will take a few billion off the books!

Don’t laugh too hard. This is what happened to Germany in the 1930′s. They had economic problems and this guy came along and said it was the fault of a group of people. If only we could take care of this group of people all of their problems would be solved. So, he got a group of Rush-like tough guys together (by using hate talk) and formed a new party. Oh, and they did take care of that group. However, as we all know the story, it didn’t work out too well. Who was this guy?
Beware of “leaders” who blame others for our own problems. We made this mess and we need to fix it ourselves through hard work and great planning, not by war.

Kron, you are a D-Bag! This goes way beyond renewable energy.

George, diane… they’re all ignorant liars. First time to ever drop the credit outlook? It happened around the end of WWII. It wasn’t the debt rating, it was the outlook.
And about Trump. What can you say? He’s right. It might not be easy to take the darn oil. But you know he’s right. We don’t use military force when it really counts. Pick on lesser dictators? Yes. Take oil or push China around? We’re weak.

The best way to bring oil prices down, is not to use it. Tell the oil producing Gods we don’t need their oil anymore.
Trump makes a good point. Iraq can payback some of its dues, with oil. Democracy does not come cheap.

Ok, you nuts on the nutty right. Do you understand there is too much oil so the Trump whats to take over Iraq when we have too much oil people. Now that is just maddness people and the nutty people on the right is falling for it. So when we take over we will have the same problem. We will have too much oil and not way to refine it nuts. The problem is Wall Street and the Trump is know it so he is blaming OPEC so the nutty right will not be angry at OPEC about the oil prices. They increased production that is why the are cutting back nuts.

Because the insane speculation on Wall Street, that’s why. Speculation has driven the price up to where there is now not enough demand to take all the oil available. Trump, you want to do something helpful, call for the end of the speculators. These speculators are destroying what little is left of this country that Obama hasn’t murdered.

No offense to government workers at all, but you have to understand ” eat what you kill” in business and you don’t learn that by working for someone else. Why can’t we take the spoils of war? We are negotiating with Drug lords in mexico. Apparently we roll over at the oil prices. Is anyone else seeing this? The US is up to its armpits in alligators and no one on capitol hill cares. We are in an economic crisis, so the price of gas goes through the roof?! How do you crush a nation quickly….put it in debt and buy it. The OPEC guys could buy the US 100 times over and all we could do is watch ourselves go down the drain. First off, why don’t all you lib hypocrites who “care” about the environment quit driving your SUVs? Maybe then you’d have a shred of credibility. It’s like charity, where you preach giving to others, but as every survey has shown, end up giving less per capita than conservatives.
The runup in prices was caused by Obama covertly overthrowing Mubarak, a longtime US ally. And Obama’s illegal Libyan war, which he’s lied about on a regular basis. This has destabilized the entire region and sent oil prices soaring. That, tied with Obama’s intent to destroy domestic production…which has cost over 150,000 jobs in the Gulf area alone…has sent us well on the way to 5 dollar a gallon gas. I applaud Trump for at least taking a position that IRAQ should pay for part of our commitments there, and that some OPEC states should pay for our defense of their interests.

Are you kidding me with this? What a goof! Yes, we invaded Iraq and executed Sadam Hussein – on “intelligence” that he was trying to obtain yellowcake that was a mountain made out of a molehill, and Bush knew that when he said it and when sent Colin Powell to the UN because he had more credibility than W did. The CIA and British Intel said it was questionable information at best and couldn’t be verified, and the CIA wanted it taken out of Bush’s State of the Union address.
Now The Donald wants to confiscate Iraq’s natural resources in payment for a war that shouldn’t have been waged in the first place and that took our collective eye off the bin Laden eightball? I wouldn’t call the Iraq war a victory, moral or otherwise, but Trump would fit right in with the delusional politics of grandeur that currently permeates our federal government like the smell of a freshly-roadkilled skunk. If it weren’t for that thing on his head, he’d be indiscernable from the rest of them.

The Saudies aren’t having US protection, but buying weapons from us form billions of dollars and helping our economy. If we lose them, they’ll go and buy it from China and Russia and move their money from our banks which is worth %9 and that’s fellas the collapse of our country!!
China invited the Saudies to buy their oil and provide them with weapons for cheaper price. They’re our allies that even they were against our attack on Libya, they produced more oil to cover up for the Libyain oil!!

China gets Venz/Nic to take canal choke point. Russia in Iran moves to take Hormuz choke point. We control Horn choke point, WW3 starts, 1 billion dead in 2 decades.

These comments are pathetic. Don’t you people understand. Our country is a wreck and getting worse. We have Democrats that are now in the minority still running the show and Republicans that are too spineless to do anything about it. Trump may not be THE answer, but, we need to do something radically different if our nation is to survive. The founders envisioned a citizen legislature that would serve a few years and then go home. We need to get back to that principle. Follow the Constitution. Get rid of all the departments and agencies that the Federal government has no business in, and, get people in there that are solid in business, yes the country needs to be run like a business, and who are not owned by anyone. Think about it folks.

What is Donald talking about when he says taking. Firstly The USA has enough oil reserves in their own land sufficient for the American people. Also Iraq didn’t ask for them to be invade, and now after the damage that has been done, he wants to take over the oil fields. And lastly the USA has already given out contracts to oil companies like Shell,BP etc….over a certain number of oil fields. It’s not OPEC that is the only player in the game, here.

Mr. Trump, America has given you a great life with opportunity for all… Right now, America needs you… Please don’t turn your back… Your businesses, your shows are miniscule compared to how badly we need a leader. If there is one person that can restore our financial stability and respect around the world, you are that person.
It is absolutely your OBLIGATION, yes OBLIGATION to run and rescue this country.
Please man up and take on this task.

Politicians are wolves trying to convince us they’re sheepdogs (when we need neither). Trump’s a wolf that’s honest about his wolfness. That makes him better than the others.
Sad, sad truth, America.

I love Donald Trump. He is a good business man, and America needs that. Right now, the people in office know nothing about finance. They borrow, give the money to people who elected them, then ask the rest of Americans to pay it back. When we object, they call us everything in the book. The “stimulus” money was given to people and causes that did not stimulate jobs, the people who received it put it in their pockets, and now, they are trying to get their “Santa Claus” re-elected so they can get another big handout from him after election. Trump for President!! He is the only person who could get America out of the mess it is in now.

I don’t understand what planet you people are from that talk about windmills and electric cars. This is just fairyland talk that bears no resemblance to reality. We have cars that use GASOLINE. EVERYTHING RUNS ON OIL!!!! War vehicles to people needing to commute to work. If you have sky rocketing oil prices, you have a weaker economy because people spend less because their money goes to buying inflated gas, and taxes are raised or military is cut due to EVERY VEHICLE in the military running on oil!

WHO WILL SEIZE OIL WELLS IN LIBYA AND IRAQ?
OK, Trump is a back-bencher.
He demands that the U.S. take over Iraq’s and Libya’s oil wells. WHO will do that?
If Trump demands such a thing, he would have to do that IN PERSON himself as the Americam military would refuse such an UNCONSTITUTIONAL ORDER by any government official.
Trump is “play acting.” And, no one is calling him on it because there are just too many “Beltway” types involved in America’s political and governmental processes.
Do you wonder what Trump would do if someone decided to take over HIS property?
He and people like him have no clue and are just BS’ng this nation and everyone dumb enough to ask to talk to him about his views grounded in stupidity.

You have got to love the bleeding hearts.
Did Iraq even ask us to “free” them from their dictator?
And after said 1.3trillion, lost AMERICAN lives what are the thanks? They burn effigies of American Presidents and our flag. The world isn’t any safer and we still have a bulls-eye on our back.
Someone commented that chest thumping will get us no where but being a submissive wimpy bleeding heart for the world isn’t going to get us any where either. Our resources are not unlimited and the American people can’t afford to police the world for a while. Or we need to see a return on our investment, not just labeled an infidel, pay top dollar for oil from the same people we “free” as we invest in the very infrastructure we helped destroy.
I’m sorry, but America seems like a chump. And the world is lining up with their hand’s out to get a piece of the chump. Who doesn’t like to take advantage of a willing chump?
Posted by: Chris Edens | April 19, 2011, 12:40 am 12:40 am
I do not support Trump as he seems like he’ll say anything.
We should e=definitely make IRAQ and ANY other nation in which we are forced to Intervene (Afghanistan, Libya, Vietnam, Germany, France, England, Japan, Korea) pay us for the cost of our military and other services.
Why should the American taxpapyer have to pay to protect other nations and/or rescue them from dictators, war-mongers, etc.? there’s no rational justification for other nations not to pay their way.
They all owe us trillions of dollars and its time we started collecting.
IRAQ, Afghanistan and Libya would be good places to start.
Think of what this teach to the nations and the dictators of the world. MAKE the USA Play for you and you will have to pay!
Rogue nations would no longer feel comfortable know that it would cost too much for the USA to clean up their messes (like Iran, Syria, North korea) and in every war in which we became involve—we would not quit until we secured payment in full, including full reparations for all of our wounded and disabled G.I.s.
Japan and the EU still owe us billions (with interest) for the Marshall Plan and for our rescuing the EU from Hitler.
China owes us for rescuing them from the Japanese, as do many nations around the Pacific rim.
It is high time America started collecting on these debt the rest of the world owes us for keeping them safe.

Why should Iraq pay us back? They didn’t ask Busb to “liberate” them from a fellow Iraqi. Bush had made up his mind to get revenge on Saddam for the 1993 assassination attempt on his dad and used 9-11 to justify an invasion.
Bush and Cheney should be in prison cells at the Hague, awaiting trial for war crimes.

Besides this latest nonsense about “stealing” the oil, his latest rant over Romney is that he has a larger portfolio than Romney. What’s next? Can he do more push-ups than Romney.

We have plenty of oil, but the dimwits won’t let us drill for it – instead we pay Brazil and Mexico to drill, and we’ll buy it from them. How stupid is that?
You will never find a cheaper, cleaner alternative to oil. But while you’re looking, let’s utilize our own resources. The only reason the price is so high is because of Obama’s policies. He wants us to crumble.
Keep the wealth here, to build our country back. Donald knows how to do it.

Trump is trying to position himself as a populist by shooting in all directions to appeal to various frustrations, but his rhetoric will never translate into policy due to current geopolitics.
In fact, the USA is rapidly losing influence in the middle east and oil prices are only a symptom of this problem. If Iran takes over the region, as they are doing, there’s not going to be an OPEC to pressure and complain about.
What Trump is neglecting to mention is that the middle east is now in the midst of a Cold War, and the USA is in the position of having to support the bad option over the much worse.
Saudi Arabia, the most important OPEC player (and chief exporter of extreme ideologies), is now the last Arab bulwark against an expansionist Iran after the USA’s mishandling of the Egyptian revolution. (The latter has not only left the anti-Iran alliance, but may re-ignite the conflict with Israel.)

So, the U.S. goes to war to protect our interest and to protect the United States from murderers, and you all are saying it is “Stealing the oil”. No, war is like a poker game you idiots. You are playing high stakes here. You put in your bid (troops and money) and either the country has a better hand and they win, or a worst hand and they lose. Well guess what? They lost. We collect the pot and go home. Now seeing how we have won the big pot we may leave them a few chips just to remain friends.
You don’t go to war to lose, you go to win. You go to pick up the profits, and protect your way of life.
Do you think if they would have won, that you would be getting any oil at all? Do you really think they would leave a few chips behind to make friends. No they would have ruled the entire Middle East, and sucked every dime of money out of the U.S. we had. Every time we put our troops at risk, this is what we are gambling.

Donald T. Rump is trying to sabotage the Republicans chances of defeating the Obammunist in 2012 by running as a less wealthy Ross Perot II, with smaller ears and his own TV show. Reality TV has gone too far this time. It’s time to come to our senses and vote for the politicians who will restore economic sanity rather than hand out our money to Union thugs and hand over power to his Chicago Communisty Organizers and appointed Socialist SC Judges. Donald T. Rump is just running a pick for the Obammunist to score again in 2012. Don’t be fooled by the rhetoric about a birth certificate and seizing oil; Rump is a chump.

Exactly what we need…some people see a business candidate as too radical. Perot, and now Trump are exactly what we need. Our country is in financial despair! Wake up people…the year after year hum drum of the same pol candidates are killing our country. They tell us how much change there will be…and guess what ….SAME THING! Let a business minded candidate keep our money in this country and export (yes i said export) goods to other buying countries. China all but owns us…..take a walk around your house and take note of everything in it that is from a foreign country. Not loving the fact that Trump is such a showman…but love that he could actually be a different mindset than the SAME ol’ pol mind. This company (country) needs radical change…who better than a radical

While I see the need short term to drill our own oil, we do have a possible fantastic solution by using the new Carbon Chemical coated tubes that are very cheap to make in Hydrogen Fuel cells and just burn Water. The cool thing about burning water, is it turns back into, well, WATER!

In NY we all understand that Trump is a man who floats above party affiliation to actually get things done. He is an incredibly clear thinker who is unafraid to explore difficult ideas and who is not beholden to the extreme elements of the parties. He is, in fact, a moderate, and not that much unlike everyone else in NY. He would make a superb President.

I wish our current President was willing to say what needed to be said and accepted the backlash appropriately like Trump does. I don’t agree with all of Trump’s ideas, but you can’t blame him for being a completely different person behind closed doors, like our esteemed campaigner-in-chief.
Moreover, Trump seems to have a grasp on economics and exchange of goods and services. The President, however, starts talking about tax hikes at the first sign of economic recovery and what do investors do? They get blue balls and sell, sell, sell. The further we get into his Presidency, the clearer it’s becoming that economic recovery isn’t his goal. It’s something that can be sacrificed to meet his personal ideas for America.

The country he wants to bring back is the country that gave you your privileged lifestyle to begin with, you idiots! The US has become a laughing stock thanks to the decades of your failed agendas of appeasement both home and abroad. War isn’t about being PC. It’s about killing the enemy swiftly and effectively. I do not believe that a guy who is suggesting that America use its power to benefit its citizens is ridiculous. America’s superpower status benefits very few of us now. We have a choice, give up the superpower status (which would be very beneficial to 99% of Americans since the money used to maintain the empire can be used to rebuild the USA) or keep the superpower status and use our power in ways that benefit the bottom 99% of Americans. Which option do you believe most Americans will choose?

I read or heard–forget where or from whom–that shortly after 9/11 the RAND Corp. advised President Bush to seize the Saudi oil fields. Before you dismiss it, please check into it, for at the time I found the info source to be completely credible. Since RAND has long been considered to be perhaps the #1 think tank we have, if they did indeed make this suggestion, I believe it adds credibility to Mr. Trump’s suggestion about Libya’s oil fields. Perhaps Bush should have followed the RAND Corp. advice; after all, 17 of the 19 terrorists on the 9/11 planes were Saudi.

Much of the same type of prejudgment and ridicule being directed towards Mr. Trump possible candidacy reminds me of similar disbelief when Mr. Reagan first announced his candidacy, for I was one of those who prejudged and ridiculed him for doing so, immediately dismissing him as a lightweight, amazed that an actor would consider himself worthy of the position.
Yet, but I ended up voting for him against Carter, am glad I did, feel he is one of the greatest who ever held the job, and do not believe there has been anyone to equal him since he left office. I would sleep much better at night now were he in office.
Having learned from that experience, I am not only not dismissing Mr. Trump’s candidacy, I am hoping that he is not dismissing it, for at this point in time I think he is one of the more viable candidates. If the vote were held today, he would have my vote.

Oh, let’s lower gas prices by just stealing their oil! Gee, any chance of Libya or Iraq, not to mention the rest of the world getting upset at this?
Oh, and the military is already taxed to the limit, if we’re to ‘take over’ foreign oil fields, we’ll definitely need to spend more money, and risk more american troops. That’ll help the deficit.
Seriously, this reality TV star is worse than Obama and George W Bush put together.

Trump does not sound ridiculous. Liberal whiners do. Trump is accurate, oil is going to go to $6 and even $7 a gallon. Then what? You morons that never want to cut a penny from the welfare state will watch the economy fall apart. China and the Arabs will go off the dollar, inflation will go up 20 % to 30% overnight and you can watch unemployment go to 25% to 35% as well. When your milk will cost $15 a gallon and a loaf of bread goes to $10 and your living in the streets cause you cant afford your rent his solutions wont look so silly. Why does this country spend $80 billion investing in Brazil, $1.4 Trillion in Iraq, $400 Billion in Saudi Arabia etc…. to support a bunch of people that dont need the $$$$$$??????. Its insane. and so are you liberals who think everything is rosy so long as its “democratic”.

So, after you invaded Iraq against the well of the UN, and killed more than 100,000 civilians, you want to seize their oil? You are worse than Hitler.
I sure hope people like this don’t become presidents, or the world will go into WW III. What Trump doesn’t know is that Saudi Arabia keep the prices down by pumping more. This makes us enemies, such as Iran, who want higher price.
Finally, if you don’t want the oil prices to go up, STOP USING 40% OF ITS DAILY PRODUCTION!!!!!!

If you believe anything coming out of these talking mouth pieces, then I got a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn. BTW, Trump knows darn well that the prices of oil are controlled by both OPEC and Wall Street and Big US UK Oil. If you are trying to cast all blame on OPEC as a sound bite, well fine… but be honest about the debate and address the other 2 parties included in the price of oil (big oil and wall street). Because we already went to Iraq and control the oil yet prices continue to rise in an off election year? You dirtballs are fooling nobody but yourselves at this point which is why your ratings fell off a cliff. Stop pillaging the population with the fixed price appreciation at the pump. perhaps people across the country will clean up their elected reps and put people in charge who will make you clean up your act.

To help all of you people out there how do not understand, oil takes a long time to make. Its not an insta “just add water” sort of thing. It takes millions of years, right? It is always going to cost a lot. In case you have not heard, it is our liquid gold. It is precious. As long as it is an essential to our daily life, any price can be put on it and people will continue to buy it. Trump is right. We should be in control of the price. We can not lose money this way.

It’s an exaggeration on Trump’s part when he says that there are supertankers wandering around the oceans looking for someplace to dump their cargos (the way Trump said it was “they don’t know where to dump it”).
What’s REALLY going on is that after a supertanker full of crude reaches its destination oil port, it often has to wait for many days at a time –sometimes weeks at a time– waiting to offload its current shipment into the refinery that is supposed to receive that shipment. There are usually multiple supertankers in any given oil port, all just sitting in their moorings waiting in line for their turn to offload. The delays can be so lengthy that the captains of those supertankers eventually call their superiors and plead with them to locate a temporary oil storage facility elsewhere so they can offload and get the heck out of there and sail back across the ocean again to pick up their next tankerload of crude.
Why does it take so danged long? Why are all those supertankers stacked up in the oil ports waiting to offload?
Because … the quality of crude nowadays is so crappy that in takes longer for any one shipment to offload (it’s heavier and more sluggish thus it doesn’t flow as freely as a higher quality oil would). And then, after it’s finally offloaded, it takes considerably longer for that one shipment to get fully processed inside the bowels of the refinery. The amount of time needed to process just one tankerload of today’s crude is so much longer than identical-sized shipments in prior years that the other ships must wait in the harbors for days or even weeks. This is a new development. Harbor masters everywhere are right now dealing with this unprecedented escalation in the number of days that multiple supertankers are moored all waiting for the same refinery to accept the latest load. And then, when that load of crude finally does get processed, the refinery needs far more down time for repairs than it used to need for past shipments because these newer and poorer grades of oil do considerably more damage per-shipment to the inner guts of a refinery than past shipments ever did. And the most frustrating thing of all is that after that shipment gets refined, it typically results in a net production of less gasoline and diesel than the same amount of crude a decade ago would have yielded. That’s because a higher percentage of today’s tanker loads are a) water, b) wax, and c) scum.
All of this means we’re paying far more money per tankerload for far skimpier yields per tankerload.

Why can’t money from our foreign policies be used to help out our domestic problems? I think that citizens
of the US and their well being should come before we give money to other countries. When I say citizens of the US I mean citizens, not “residents”. It’s time for all our foreign policies to be looked at very hard and for the cuts to policies that help US citizens especially our seniors be stopped. Also SOCIAL SECURITY should be off limits to all programs. If you didn’t pay in to it, you can’t get anything out of it.

The rest of the world knew it was about the oil. GWB said it wasn’t. He nearly bankrupts the country. Now DT’s hair says lets throw away any last vestige or US morale right to support democracy and become a viking plunderer.

Trump’s popularity seems to come from the assumption that only he can raise enough GOP money to match Obama’s spending. But truth may be he’s the only Republican ruthless enough. I like Gingrich. But maybe he’s too decent, too scholastic. Obama took advantage of John McCain’s military honor mentality to trap him in a promise to limit spending which he observed even after Obama broke it. Try that with Trump!

Another perfect example of the ineptness of government to re-act to crisis.DRILL DRILL DRILL AND PUMP,I dare anyone to look these fact up.How much oil have we purchased in the last decade versus how much we have refined and then where did the difference go?Pumped into dry wells and stored

Trump is the next Ronald Reagan only better I think and he WILL BE the next president. I love his substance and style something the Liberals have no knowledge of. God let me stand for something lest I fall for anything. With Oblarney its just words and no action. The only action you will see is during election time and right now Velvet Jones from the Bronx could beat a do nothing Democrat.

I agree with Trump completely.

Until Mr Trump wins the 2012 presidental campaign, his ranting and raving, like most hot heads will be just that. Throughout history, presidents have learned the world is not their oyster. Other nations, and cultures do not cater to our whims just because we “get tough” with them. It is my opinion that Mr. Trump should keep his day job, and stop trying to be president.

HELLO…. The oil in Iraq,..belongs to HALABURTON…You don’t remember how the big oil company’s split IRAQ in 3rds…They will never allow this to happen!!!!

Actually Trump makes a lot of good common (down home type) sense. He may not be totally politically correct but that is what we need. Aman in office that has what it takes to say what needs to be said. It also helps that he cannot be bought, like the Saudis have obama bought ans paid for

I am appalled at the magnitude of Trump’s arrogance and obviously lack of knowledge about what’s going on in Iraq.Let me educate you a little Donald. The Iraq oil fields have been hijacked. The money is just not coming to the American people. Its going to your friends,th e Cheneys, the Bushes, the Haliburton’s etc.Maybe you should start comping these people a little more to get into the action. My advice to you, stick to your casinos the presidency is out of your league.

What an idiot. He should be pushing alternative energy, but he’s too stupid to realize that someday, sometime, oil is going to scarce and unless we figure it out NOW, lights are going out, cars are stopping and it’s gonna be a cold, dark, night in Trump Tower….

so many people seem to forget what exactly started this country. It certainly wasnt meant to be socialist. In a true capitalist society the mighty get to big and die… not bailed out. the system didnt work so Bush and Obama use socialism to try to fix our country. Obviously a major FAIL!!! our country was started by entrepreneurs not ass kissers sucking America for whats its worth. Oboma went from making just over $150k per yr to paying over $450k just in taxes per yr, only since he’s been president. You cant tell me this Oboma isnt after being president for his own selfish needs. So what if Trump is at least he knows what this country needs.
We need someone like Trump if he is for real! Is he willing to make the sacrifice. He dont need this we need the likes of him!!!

Trump the fool’
Trump is starting to embarras even the thorn tree he fell off of’
This fellow does’nt realize how foolish he looks on these talking head
shows. He has yet to find enough words to complete a sentence and i
am starting to wonder has this fellow got an high school diploma for
he definately does not talk like an educated man.
Could it be Trump fell off an turnip wagon somewhere and a stork
flew by grabbed him up and dropped him in New York and upon landing
somehow a silver spoon flipped into his mouth.
After hearing him talk a few times i very quickly got the idea that
if he has a lot of money, other experienced business people running
his corporations have to be responsible for earning it for him.
He could never be president for he does not have the temperment and
he could not answer the phone for he keeps both hands busy patting
himself on the back.
It’s very easy to see that Trump does’nt care about country or people
he cares about Trump more than anything else in the world.
He does’nt know if he’s Repub,Demo or Independent.
I really dont care what ticket he is on i could never vote for this
foolish man.
He is stuck on the birther issue and does’nt seem to be able to
talk about anything else which makes me think that if he ever is
forced to talk about real important issues he will be at a loss for
words and probably will just say something stupid.

What an idiot! Actually, OPEC has a small effect in terms of increasing gas prices. When’s the last time you heard of a new refinery being built in the US? Supply and demand people. Let’s face it, oil companies in the US are using OPEC as an excuse to hike prices!

It’s their oil, they can sell it for whatever price they feel like selling it for.
Donald Trump is used to stealing money by declaring bankruptcy, I guess this mindset is all pervasive with him.

Trump is a moron who is playing to everyone’s unreasonable fears. Most of our foreign oil COMES FROM CANADA. Should we attack our lovely neighbors to the north and take their oil fields? It’s not about the oil or lack thereof, it’s about speculators.
Posted by: EarlGrayHot | April 25, 2011, 10:42 am 10:42 am
I fully agree with Donald Trump. Something new has to be done to lower gas prices. If we continue to sit by idly then nothing we will continue to be pushed around by the middle east. It is time for change.

Things are only looking worse for Obama.
I do not see him being relected.
Then by mid summer when gas prices will be bankrupting us, he might have to just resign….

The reason why US didn’t get the oil from Iraq instead of China and Brit Petrol get the contract because US oil companies wanted 90% of profit and give 10% to Iraqi Government. BP and Chinese accept 10% profit that why they got the right to the oil in Iraq. What George W Bush did about this? Nothing because he might already have huge amount of BP shares stash secretly for him in his wife’s name. And Bush already sold this country to China.

O no, no,no way,now don,t even think about what ever the mr trump said it,Once you win the war you can,t get the oil easily, its not the matter of,to get the versions of oil,its a matter that at what point the price will go up,now how about Iran and russia. Both got much higher capacity of oil and gas all over the world,so why not iran and russia, start thinking about mr trump that getting some one land and after saying that we did not steel but we mug it,we did not take over, but we mug,we did not try to take it out,but we mug.so remember, and listen to mr trump,s triology.

phil, sorry for that, now you are thinking completely wrong, wrong answer. No body and no one can invade any middle east and their oil and what kind of capacity they have got, stop dreaming, suppose if i am a leader and i,ve got a plenty of oil in my area,do you think that you will invade my land, well my little baby, try it,and before i will make sure that i will burn all my oil capacity and yours oil capacity in your country.first yours, then mine.Grown up,easy answer.messing with Arabs is very very very easy, try with any Pathan,s.they will and still telling you, don,t mess with us,its not that easy to get any countries oil,s.that,s what i am saying,Stop dreaming.

And phil,Stop playing politics with me,you can,t win,Ask and read about me in google. No body can win with me even the smallest business men like trump.Ok i,ll give you a small hint,in pakistan their are much higher capacity of oil in some area,s.I know about those area,s and i already take it out some little petrol from those places.even no one knows that.and i make a lots of cash on it.so what is your answer.
