Obama Polling on Day One of Last Campaign
EmailAs the President prepares for a conference call with 500,000 supporters following an email launch of his re-election bid, our polling guru Gary Langer has a roundup of Obama’s latest polling:
The president runs about evenly vs. "the Republican candidate" (generic) in most recent tests, e.g. 50-47 percent in an AP poll last week. But in gauging Mr. Obama's prospects there's another metric at least as important as the horse race polls: The unemployment rate. As the economy goes, so, most likely, goes this president.

GEORGE Please BE more truthfull Prez Obama has an Unemployement Problem not recognized I am Unemployed since Dec 12 2008. I was not counted in your stats there are Many more like me. Experts say we have given up looking for jobs but you may have forgotten us we haven’t forgotten Obamas Promises on JOBS! Real Unemployment 17% plus ignore reporting on us at your peril!!!

As the only rational grownup in the field, America will show herself wise in Obama’s hand. Conservatives can’t handle that a different kind of person succeeded where they have repeatedly failed. They will close their ears and say “bubu na la la!” like the children they are. So fifth grade! The fact is remember where we were in 2008? We are no longer there but also such grand problems as healthcare are being dealt with. That is leadership without any meanness in him that is so common place in this opponents.

These stats seem to be a bit tilted in favor of Obama winning in 2012. All the other reliable show him behind or losing by a significant amount. I hope it’s by a major amount! What he has done in two years and three months portends much more debt and “finger in the air” and wallowing decisions where he blinks and blinks again until someone else decides and he jumps on board touting the movement as his own! We need a person who knows what to do and get it done without jeopardizing us!

I think Pelosi, Reid & Obama are all Koo-Koo for Cocco puffs. By not passing a budget that was feasible to the Amercian people when they had a chance to do so. This presidency, like GHWB is a joke.I wish we had some real leaders in the country that would finally do the right thing in office for a change.
