Vice President Ventura?
He’s been a Navy SEAL, pro-wrestler, author, governor of Minnesota and even appeared on a soap opera. So is running for Vice President the next thing on Jesse Ventura’s to-do list?
“I will tell you this. If Ron Paul runs as an Independent, I will give great consideration to being his running mate,” he told me on “GMA.”
Ventura dedicated his latest book, “63 Documents the Government Doesn’t Want You to Read,” to Rep. Ron Paul calling him “the only federal elected official who will stand up for America on the congressional floor.”
But the former governor said he would not join the ticket if Paul runs as a Republican.
“Never. I will not be a Democrat or a Republican. They are the problem, not the solution. We need to abolish political parties in this country,” Ventura said.
What about Rep. Michele Bachmann? She’s flirting with a bid, is from Ventura’s home state and even represents the district he lives in.
“And could she be president?” I asked.
“Not with my vote she won’t be,” he replied.

Don’t flatter yourself Ventura. You weren’t a good governor, and you certainly aren’t qualified to be a vice president. You’re a 9/11 truther.

I totally agree with you Mr Ventura. The party system is archaic, chaotic, and impedes democracy in this Nation. It has to go. I’ll vote for you and Mr Paul. I like both platforms.

A) Whoever said that Jesse Ventura was “not a Navy SEAL” is simply wrong. You can read all about his experience in his autobiography (which is an interesting read).
B) That said, the farther away from political power he is, the better. He’s a 9/11 Truther, for crying out loud.
C) I’m ambivalent about Ron Paul — but I have become quite enamored of his son, Sen. Rand Paul. We need more like him.

I am completely fed up with the dems and want a crushing defeat for Obama in 2012 but I have to admit… a Paul and Ventura ticket takes all the wind out of my sails. It’s gotta be a made-up msm stunt… doesn’t Ventura believe that the government could have been responsible for blowing up the twin towers?

It’s just too bad soo many of you are still clinging to your political parties like a baby and their ‘Blankie’ How many times must you be let down before you start to vote with your mind versus rooting for you favorite party like they’re a football team. Ron Paul/Jesse Ventura 2012!!!!!!!!
Ron Paul is the last hope we have of ever getting our country back. We have long abandoned our Constitution, we are bankrupt, 9/11 was an inside job, the Patriot Act has taken away all our rights, we are the laughingstock of the entire world, we are hated worldwide, we are fighting three illegal and undeclared wars, our troops are occupying other countries of which we have no business doing as well as nation building which we have no business doing. Our troops are also killing innocent civilians in the name of government and under government orders. Ron Paul is who we need to get us back to our founding principles and our Constitution. And yes, I am a libertarian, a birther and a 9/11 truther. Wake up people, Democrats and Republicans are all the same, Ron and Rand Paul are the only ones that can be trusted in DC!!!!!!!!

I have doubts that the “new face” in the white house would change anything till history runs its course. The house of cards would collapse. A lot of people voted for “change we can believe in” and seen no change for the better. There are only two scenarios coming out of this. Either we been lied to or the president is a muppet manipulated by the powers behind the throne. The end result for “we the people” is the same.
The only remedy is reconnecting money with intrinsic value. Dr. Paul is on the right track and Jessy Ventura shoots straight. I am puzzled by the importance he attaches to political affiliation. If he wants to do good he should overlook the “philosophy” of the GOP and concentrate on his own. After all, Dr. Paul does not embrace the GOP either.

He was NOT a Navy SEAL. He was an EOD diver. AFTER his discharge, the EOD function was absorbed by the SEALs. This is equivalent to a WW1 biplane pilot saying he was a jet pilot because navy planes are now jets. They weren’t jets at the time and EOD was not SEAL.

The people who berate 9-11 ‘truthers’ haven’t had the intelligence to do the research themselves. One poster mentions research and cites ONE source … another wants to abolish parties for democracy (political parties are democracy meaning MOB RULE … the mob with the most votes wins) … Ron Paul = nice guy, but there simply to draw votes away from Conservatives (kinda like what Ross Perot did to elect Clinton).

Libertarians aren’t practical people, but I’m so tired of the corporatists in both major parties, that I might go there just as a message to them. I thought Ventura looked like a nut as governor, but maybe that was because he got railroaded. Fact is, his tv program is very provocative, and 911 WAS an inside job, and I admire him for backing that tough stance, and other positions against the Chinese etc. I’m an Obama liberal that just might vote for this ticket, but libertarians need to grow up about domestic spending, because this country needs it. What it doesnt need are foreign wars and open markets.

It is sad but Ron Paul looks old and millions of idiots will not vote for him for that very reason. Trump with one of the women as VP is the only ticket that can beat Obama so get on board or else prepare for Obama dictatorship for years to come.

Jesse Ventura was elected as governor of the state of Minnesota. That alone is qualification for running. He served honorably in the service and all you morons who try and belittle his service show you are trolls. Anyone who is for transparency, for the people and who is honest should garner your vote if you care about your country. You do not have to agree with everything any person says and it would be lunacy if you did but if that person works for the people and in their interest than what more could anyone true patriot want? People need to start getting educated and quit voting based on propoganda that serves the interest of multinationals that do not care anything for the people, jobs, health insurance, etc.

Man… nothing but ignorant post after ignorant post. Ventura is a LIBERAL… He talks a big game but he LOADED his cabinet with liberals… AND governed as one. So if you think this moron has one iota of independent in him, you’re clueless. He talks like he doesn’t like government intrusion, but he added layers of it in Minnesota.
Ron Paul would never consider him anyway. Ron Paul knows government destroys most of what it touches.
Posted by: Dennis Fisher | April 4, 2011, 6:46 pm 6:46 pm
What a Shame.
It would be to Ron Paul’s detriment if he were to entertain this idea in the even the smallest instance.

Jesse is a certified space cadet.. part of the tinfoil hat crowd. Someone, and I don’t remember who, said recently that 10% of American’s have a mental disorder. I think that the number is much higher. After all, almost half are democrats, so that alone skews the percentage much higher. Jesse is a 911 truther? I didn’t know that but it doesn’t surprise me; he hosts a whacked out conspiracy TV show, ergo he is a few crayons short of a full box of crayolas. The political scene is this country has become a Jerry Springer marathon. God help us all…. execept for the atheists.

Recognize this idiotic made up story for what it is – Stephanopoulos trying hard to get ahead of the curve in marginalizing Paul by linking him with the likes of Ventura. Paul is a rational, well reasoned, principled, citizen statesman that has done nothing but defend the constitution and sound the alarm about our coming (now current) economic crisis for decades. He is the only such individual in our Congress. Stephanopoulos and his fellow travelers realize that America is finally reaching a point where she may be able to hear and understand Paul, and it troubles them greatly. Hence the desperate attempt to marginalize by associating him with an unstable figure such as Ventura. For all of you out there that are unfamiliar with Paul you should really do yourselves a favor and find out about him. Turn away from the propaganda you are being spoon fed for half a day and do a little of your own research on the man.

And Ron Paul is worse. He wants to bring our troops home, reign in the debt, revitalize business through deregulation and get rid of the IRS. Doesn’t he understand the more we’re taxed the happier and freer we are?

He isn’t serious, he just may have a new movie, book, tv show or some other enterprise in the works and needs to get his name out there. Jesse has always been a promoter. He was a terrible Governor in Minnesota and isn’t cut out for high level politics. He should focus on make-believe and make “Running Man 2″ or is it 3?

Get your collective heads out of the sand and stop being bi-partisan “yes men/women”….it hasn’t done our country any good in the last 20 years. Like it or not, our two major party system gives us balance.
In all countries that have multiple party elections every election is a mess.
Instead of whining people should work to make their party platform better and, foremost, insure that it supports and defends The Constitution.

The only option for the criminal left and right is to rig the voting machines again. I like Ron Paul but that ticket is worse than McCain Palin. It will simply muddy the water and split the vote. We need somebody that promises to cut spending and actually does it. They need to be respected. I know “Respected Politician” is a contradiction in terms, but that is what we need. We simply cannot tax and spend our way out of debt. Obama has given us more debt in two years than any President in history. One side of his mouth says cut spending but in fact, he is adding to the debt everyday. The question is–Is thier a Politician that will actually do what they say? I can’t think of one.
Posted by: Ruckus | April 5, 2011, 7:20 am 7:20 am
Any President that triples the debt in thier first term should automatically be disqualified to run for a second term. Please tell me this? How can anyone vote for a President that triples the debt in thier first term? How can they? And don’t tell me about Bush. I am tired of hearing about the past. We need someone that will give us a future, not “Hope and Change”. The Change we can’t live with and hope won’t get it done. I don’t think people understand how close we are to being another “Greece”

Here’s a pop-quiz for all you civic-minded citizens: how many branches of government are there? Some of the more learned ones among you might reply “three: legislative, executive, and judicial.” But you would still be wrong. And no, the answer is not four: the States. Although technically (and Constitutionally) correct, at this point in time, there are only two branches of government, and my good good fiend Chuck Schumer confirmed this all for us last week. When he confessed to reporters (unwittingly) that he took his orders from “the party caucus,” he exposed and confirmed that politicians are controlled by party central headquarters. This is also true of Republicans, as they too, take their orders from their party headquarters. So do you ever feel like you are not being represented? Your voice being ignored? We all do…unless you are a member of a party central committee. Their voices are heard, just ask Chuck U. Schumer. Thanks for making that clear, Senator. So how many branches of government are there, including the States? Today’s correct answer is: two. A Republican, and a Democrat. Think about it…Democratic judges always uphold Democratic party central issues, voted for by Democratic legislatures and implemented by Democratic executives (federal and state). Same goes for the Republicans. Mr. Ventura has it right. The parties are the problem. But you people go on supporting your own demise, keep on voting against your own best interest. Keep voting to build your own FEMA concentration camps. And after they disarm you, and start herding you towards the new radiation chambers, for “treatment,” for your own good of course, just remember, they are only following orders. So when the true Patriots come to try to avert all this, by ending all political parties, and returning us to a Constitutional government, just go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your counsel nor your arms, crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, may your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were once our countrymen.

Lol. The government sock puppets and the sheeple are out in force today. Everything he said in this interview is true. Go and read a book instead of sucking on Rupert Murdoch’s teat all day. What a courageous man Ventura is.. how unfortunate he actually even stooped down to the level og calling his show ‘Jesse ventura’s conspiracy theory’.
What a joke. Disregard 9/11… it’s irrelevant.. there are ‘conspiracy facts’ that are plain as day lying around in 100s of books, declassified documents, wikileaks releasing that make a laughing stock of those that are mocking this guy.
And you guys speak of Jokes? The international community sees you as the joke. I love american, like I love all human beings – but the propaganda system that you so openly echo is clear for everyone to see. The Jokes on you America.. walking round pointing and laughing at people with your trousers (or pants) round your ankles and your flies (or zipper) undone and the Federal reserves fiat privates up your butt =)

How exactly was Jesse Ventura a SEAL when the SEALs were created 8 YEARS AFTER he left the Navy?! He was UDT, plain and simple.
He is a liar and a conspiracy nut who doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near a government office.

Just to clarify, I did not mean the SEALs were “created” then, I meant “merged”.
“From September 11, 1969, to September 10, 1975, during the Vietnam War era, Ventura served in the United States Navy. While on active duty, Ventura was part of Underwater Demolition Team 12 (UDT).[4] The UDTs were merged with the US Navy SEALs in 1983, 8 years after Ventura had left the Navy.”

Based on the comments on ABC blogs we already live in an “Idiocracy”, it seems the vitriol directed at Ventura comes from transference (you have a computer, look it up!) from the slaves seeing a version of themselves, breaking the profile mandated by the intellectual elite and Democrats and Republicans that BROUGHT this country into the literally bankrupt (morally and financially) state that it is.
If you believe an entity who’s very existence relies on keeping you IGNORANT while they spend YOUR MONEY at the point of a gun, on their personal whims (like a war in Iraq, Afghanistan AND Libya for example) then your vitriol belongs not to Jesse Ventura or Ron Paul, but the person most actually responsible… YOURSELVES!!! Yes, STOP patting yourself on the back. YOU enabled this country to degrade into what it has become. Face the facts and grow up!
You really think the solution to the massive problems we have is the EXACT same thinking that created them… Folks that is the textbook definition of INSANITY. Pot meet kettle…

VP Biden make Jesse look good!

It is funny how many of you think Jesse Ventura is crazy…. even funnier how you do not like his “ideas”. His ideas are exactly the same as such lunatics as Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Ben Franklin and George Washington. Learn more about our founding fathers and their beliefs and you will see why the powers that exist today in American politics have perverted our system for their own financial gain. Ron Paul and Jesse Ventura believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights…. the Republicans and Democrats have crapped all over these documents. Wake up America.

Jesse has lied about being a Navy SEAL — he was a UDT (aka a frogman), which was different than a SEAL when he was in the service. He also lied about being in combat and continues to speak in half-truths concerning the matter. (Try using something other than his autobiography as a credible source.) He has exaggerated his military service for his own personal gain – typical politician. ABC, do your homework and question him about his inflated view of his past.

Jesse, you are fearless, and your energy and vitality come from speaking up and not letting others that do not agree with what your saying. You know the truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God, go for it with Ron Paul what synergy with both honest and true patriot.

Good luck Jesse. The two party system is making the political process more confrontational than it should be to function well. We need a strong 3rd party. I’d vote for a Paul/Ventura ticket.

The criminals fear Dr Ron for good reason.

Wow. Smear campaign against Mr. Ron Paul and Mr. Ventura. Looks like the CIA a-holes are putting in work.
Its not working with stupid names like “LEE” and “BLAMEAMERICALAST”.
Make your own decisions people, do not get mislead by fake comments posted by anonymous people. I urge you all to do your own homework and not listen to outside opinions. It is your vote, not anyone else’s!
