ABC’s Matthew Jaffe (@jaffematt) reports:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was out for a run today on this rainy Washington morning when he stopped to rest on a car. But when he put his hand on the wet car, his hand slipped, causing him to fall and dislocate his shoulder, according to one of his aides.
That is why Reid did not kick off today’s proceedings in the Senate, leaving the task to the #2 Democrat Dick Durbin.
Reid also has a scrape above his eye. However, the Nevada lawmaker is “totally fine” and “in good spirits,” the aide said.
Reporters saw him arriving on Capitol Hill for a closed-door briefing with CIA director Leon Panetta earlier this morning, with his shoulder in a sling.
