The War powers Act was designed to be a check on bad presidents, such as we have now.
What emergency is there that is vital to United States defense is in Libya? What is preventing Obama – other than his own arrogance – from obtaining Congressional authority in the form of a resolution or declaration?

It was never meant for the Federal Government to have the power of rule as it has today. Before 1913 the Federal Government had to receive permission from a majority of the State Governments before it could act!
So what happened? What in 1913 took place that transferred the power to rule from the States to the Federal Government?
In 1913 with the ratification 16th and 17th Amendments of the US Constitution the power of rule was transferred from the the States and the people there of to the Federal Government.
The 16th and 17th Amendment was not to give the Federal Government the power to tax as people are lead to believe. The federal Government already was given the power of taxation by Article I, Section 8, Clause 1, limited by Article I, Section 2, Clause 3 and Article I, Section 9, Clause 4. But the power to rule the States and the people there of.
Repeal the 16th & 17th Amendments and this nightmare will go away!

Under the Constitution, Congress was given the power to declare War. The necessary and proper clause gives Congress the right to enact laws to define and enforce its war powers.
Other than specifically being apointed as the Commander in Chief of the military, the Executive was NOT specifically empowered to take any action without a Congressional declaration of war.
The War Powers Act requires presidential compliance whenever the US Military is engaged in conflict. It doesn’t specify that participation in NATO actions are exempt from such compliance, because accepting that position would be a transfer of the power to make War to an international alliance outside the purview of Congress.

We voted an unknown into office that had no voting record, no experience in real politics, no business experience, no experience in anything but Chicago corruption. The position of not needing approval sounds clever and arrogant. However, imagine the responsibility and burden when casualties or deaths have occured. (US and Libyans) The Obama adminstration and BHO specifically is solely responsible in this case. Even Bush did not posess the chutzpah of such unilateral action.

Responsible representatives of the American people would defend the US Constitution and would defend the American people from this rogue President Obama and end his reign in the most prompt manner the law allows.

This is why the last Senate election was so critical, and why the next one is even more so.
At this point, Congressional options are limited. Defiance of the War Powers Act is certainly an impeachable offense, but the Democrats still hold the Senate, and Obama would be acquitted along party lines, just as Clinton was acquitted, after he was impeached for perjury.

NLRB, controlled by Obama administration appointees, is suing Boeing for opening a plant, AFTER it has been 98% built and people have been hired, because Boeing has the nerve to build in a right to work state, rather than a union state. They are not closing the union plant, just expanding.
Many companies are not going to expand until this makes its way through the courts.

NATO is an Alliance that consists of 28 independent member countries including the United States, Great Britain, Germany, France, Canada, Italy and so on.
The attack on Libya is a NATO attack.

After thousands of Americans died in Iraq (and tens of thousands of Iraqis died) because of those non-existent weapons, President Bush joked that maybe the weapons of mass destruction were hidden under his desk.
He was wrong about the nuclear weapons, wrong about the weapons of mass destruction and wrong in making this juvenile attempt at humor, when many people died because of his poor judgment.
Difficult to try to change an opinion of a man under these circumstances.

Read Chapter 18 in “The Terrorist Watch” by Ronald Kessler. You will learn that Saddam Hussein deliberately tried to make the US and her allies believe that he had WMDs> His logic was that such indications would prevent the US from invading Iraq. So, President Bush and Prime Minister Blair had to take a conservative approach to this information, draw the only conclusion that they could – that Saddam had WMDs – and act accordingly.

President Obama is merely participating in the elimination of weapons that were sold to Lybia to protect themselves from foreign threats, on condition that they not be used on their own citizens. Hence, the distruction of aircraft, tanks and recently naval vessels, ships.
Also, since it is typical that those groups beginning a revolution typically are substituted with others near the end of the revolution, these weapons are being eliminated for that uncertainty.
That is the perspective for evaluating the US and NATO participation.

If we have a chief executive of the federal government that can unilaterally decide, on behalf of the entire country, to use armed force, to bomb, a foreign country, without even a congressional debate, without a congressional resolution of support, even after the fact, then the United States is an Empire and not a Republic. The resolution, like the budget, is in limbo. Can they actually wait to see who wins before voting on something?

The White House cannot appropriate the money needed to continue these “limited” functions. Only the Congress can. Obama’s arrogance in parsing the War Powers Act pretty much begs Congress to specifically defund all operations related to Libya. No payments to the UN or NATO related to any US actions in Libya.

This issue is nothing but a red herring anyway. Obama is not the president of the United States because he has not proven he is eligible to hold that position. He is a criminal usurper who blatantly disregards the rule of law. He is an illegal alien himself, an undocumented worker.
