Would Michele Bachmann Challenge Sarah Palin?
ABC News’ Jonathan Karl (@jonkarl) reports:
It would be an epic match-up, pitting two dynamic conservative women who appeal directly to evangelicals and the Tea Party faithful: Sarah Palin vs. Michele Bachmann in the race for the Republican Presidential nomination.
In an Iowa edition of the Subway Series in March – shot on the Des Moines D-Line trolley – I asked Bachmann about the prospect of running against Palin.
Here’s the exchange:
Jon Karl – Would you run against Sarah Palin?
Michele Bachmann –I love Sarah Palin. I love her. She is a wonderful individual. I'm privileged to get to know her and she is a lovely individual. My decision will be based on whether or not I think I need to run. I wouldn't see myself as running against a Republican competitor. What I would see myself as running as the nominee against President Obama. That's where I see the matchup. My quarrel is not with other republicans.
Jon Karl – If Palin runs, does that make it any less likely for you to run? A lot of people say you occupy the same space –
Michele Bachmann – My decision would be based upon what I believe is the right thing to do. If I think that I'm the one who should be the person to match up against President Obama, that's what the decision would be based on.

If they are contestants on “Are you smarter than a 5th grader”! I go with Bachmann.

I think Palin-Bachmann is the GOP’s best ticket for a shot at unseating Obama. Sure, they’re idiots, but they’re photogenic and manipulate the media like no one else.

LOL!!! If by “a shot at unseating Obama” you mean ‘no chance in hell’, then I agree with you. And you’re spot on with your last sentence…..!

Bachman: “My decision will be based on whether or not I think I need to run. I wouldn’t see myself as running against a Republican competitor. What I would see myself as running as the nominee against President Obama. That’s where I see the matchup. My quarrel is not with other republicans.”
Does this idiot understand the GOP presidential nomination process?!?!?

If Sarah Palin will be included in the Republican Caravan for the Presidential race, it will really be a fun-full comedy circus. Most of the media people will be very happy to have her in the gang. Most of the current gang members have less political will-power but are not as brain dead as Sarah Plain. If Obama has real luck and God wishes, Sarah Palin would be the nominee of the Republican alliance including tea-party goons, Obama and Democrats will not have to do much labor to keep the White House and even re-capture the Congress too. Pundits says that after the sea burial of Bin Laden, no one can bit Obama. But we will watch how many Republicans will lose their shirts, bras and underwear in the coming 18 months?

The media will have a field day with this if they both get in. They are already setting up the stage for a cat-fight scenario. That’s just plain sexist. Now… here’s my problem with Michelle Bachmann… never do I hear what she would like to do for the Country. What plans she has etc. All I only hear from her is her objective is to unseat Obama. Nope! You need a lot more than that to even remotely think you would get my vote.

As an American who believes in choice, I am saddened at the fact that the republican policy has this cult like following. There doesnt seem to be room for varying points of view

Sarah Palin is an IDIOT! Anyone who supports her is a even BIGGER IDIOT! Why can’t you people understand that she wants to be a celebrity, not a policitian.

Sarah Palin has a new $1.7 million mansion. Who says not being smart does not pay? I mean millions of not so smart souls always flock around to pay her millions of dollars for her dumb verbiage.

“My decision will be based on whether or not I think I need to run.”
NO. Her “decision” will be based on whether or not the Republican Party ORDERS her to “run” in a primary whose outcome was ordained years ago.

who cares? Neither has a shot in %&^ in every winning the presidency. YOu might as well ask my uncle lenny if he’s going to run for president. It’s about as relevant.

Make either of them VP and the moderates in the middle will slowly…back….away. Palin lost McCain the election. Does no one remember this??? eh, screw it. I’m fine with Obama getting another term. So run, crazy ladies, run. Who really gives a flying frig. If anything, it will ensure Obama his next term and make SNL alot more fun to watch this year.

Well, I`d love to see Palin and Bachmann duke it out in a mud-wrestling ring. The GOP could use it as a fund-raising vehicle.

Sad that so many are threatened by strong females. This is thelast time I will look at this website period. I prefer places where there can be intelligent debate instead of childish name calling.

She blinks a lot more when she’s not sure what she’s talking about. She is obviously full of passion about the issues, but we already had a recent president for whom issues of a complicated nature eluded comprehension. This got us taken over by greedy manipulators.
