Mitts Off: Watch Mitt Romney’s Joke, Pretending a Waitress Grabs His Rear

ABC’s Z. Byron Wolf (@zbyronwolf) reports:

We pointed out yesterday the joke Mitt Romney played on a group of waitresses at MaryAnn’s diner in Derry, New Hampshire, pretending that one of the poodle-clad servers had goosed him.

After a round of hugs and while posing for a photo with the waitresses, he sprang forward as if someone had grabbed his rear end. He later clarified that no one had squeezed his butt, but the photo op reminded him of an experience during a previous campaign when someone had.

Romney was in the midst of a quick morning tour of the small downtown area, visiting the diner, a hardware store and a feed shop.

It was an odd moment in the retail politics of the day and here is the video:

Boring. There are many serious issues to be addressed in the USA. This isn’t one of them.

nice lighthearted moment, but he’s so incredibly awkward that I could never vote for someone like him even if he aligned to my political beliefs. Obama’s about as close as I think I could get to a proper, sometimes funny, serious thinker, for a president in my adult lifetime. He’s no saint, but my God, he’s light years ahead of anything the other side offers, and I am disgusted that the Republicans support austerity cuts to services instead of raising taxes on the wealthy, when their taxes are much lower than they’ve ever been! Shame on those “Christians” who support cutting care for disabled vets and seniors, child care, food (my Lord, no), all to make sure people who have $85 million dollar homes in Souther Cali can live better lives! BAH!

Mitt Romney, while I don’t agree with him on some issues, seems to be a good candidate for president.
Obama is such a pathetic joke especially when it comes to economics. He’d want to form a committee and a focus group to start a lemonade stand.
That’s what we get when we elect a failed community organizer who left SS Chicago a bigger trash heap than when he started.

As long as he didn’t tweet about it, he’ll be OK.

Raise taxes, bah! My family of four survives quite comfortably on a combined salary of $70,000 and I in no way support raising taxes on so-called wealthy people. Sure, I’d like to have more money and if I ever get there, I don’t want anyone taking more than my fair share. The ONLY way to tax fairly is a flat tax. We simply need to close tax loopholes and gradually phase in a flat tax, period! But no, people like Alex just want to take from others. Who cares whether they earned it or inherited it? Someone earned it at some point and they are rightfully trying to hold on to what is theirs or it was generously handed down to an heir. Alex, look at what is going on in Greece right now. It is Socialism run amok. That is what happens when you redistribute wealth and then try to take it away when there coffers run dry. Get a job, make your own money and stop trying to take it away from others.

Why are so many reporters following this loser? NH people don’t like him, he’s not going to win here… sheesh.

Wow Dale you must not get out much… did you like Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Che too? LOL

Ok. They all laughed. To hear some correspondents tell it, the waitresses tearfully protested that they didn’t do it.
Why are people making this a big deal? Are reporters so desperate to attack him?

yes, we have a real neocon sicko here

Man, it’s so evident that the press is trying so hard to find something to complain about Romney. It was just a joke, and it played out fine. It’s an overt attempt by the author to “poison the well” by spinning it like it was some big mistake or something. Mitt Romney has more leadership horsepower than anyone we’ve seen for years. Step back and take a look at his plans to restore America a position of prosperity and world leadership. Read his book.

Why is everyone hating on Mitt Romney? Just because he is successful and actually has a plan for America let’s attack him and complain about him. Come on guys, lets step up and actually do something right for this great country!

whoever thinks that raising taxed on the rich will solve the problem cannot do basic math.
It won’t solve the issue. Only reducing spending will.

It’s nice to know that even straight-laced, boring Mormons have an imagination. He only wished he got goosed!

Romney made a joke. The Democrats are jokes. Thats the difference. Massachusetts did very well under Romney and is failing under Obama lite, Deval Patrick.

I could give a crap about how funny my president is. I just want someone to fix the economy. The reality is this: If Romney gets into office, Wall Street will rally and banks will start loaning more money to small businesses again. Do you want jobs? Then you need a president that doesn’t scare the hell out of the private sector. Romney has my vote.
