there is one category on the debt clock that I think we should simply default on, the U.S. debt to foreign nations, I say we do the responesible thing and default now. we are bankrupt as a nation, and to continue this current agenda is a fraud not only to other countries of the World but to the American people, so I say we let the U.S. federal Goverement default on its loans. perhaps a sad lesson can be learned here.

Mitt Romney is your Corporatist Puppet in the White House if you want him.
Romney has held fundraisers in Manhattan, Boston, Salt Lake City, and London. ALL FUNDRAISERS with BIG BANKS, HEDGE FUNDS, CORPORATIONS.
Mitt Romney and his BAIN Capital corporate raiding destroyed American companies and American jobs over the past 25 years. This is the last 'Silver-Tongued Devil' we want anywhere near Washington DC.

ncpilot wrote, "Gosh! I sure hope that Romney doesn't dare to drive a GM or Chrysler. ABC and the liberal lemmings will crucify him for that."
LOL! Again, you are totally missing the point. Dems don't give a crap where Mitt campaigns. HE has to worry about the Republicans, his own base, HIS party. THEY are the ones who will vilify him for this, not the Dems.........

saltnpepper wrote, "This article really is stretching it to say that Mitt should not appear at a company which was bailed out by TARP. So the point of this article is, then, that any company that was bailed out by TARP should be off limits to a Republican candidate?"
LOL! No, Democrats don't give a hoot about where Mitt campaigns. REPUBLICANS are the ones who will hold his feet to the fire for a campaign stop like this. Even though most of the TARP money has been repaid - including the money THIS company got. Republicans simply have no basis in rationality or logic or even common sense anymore.....

Apparently Emily doesn't care about the people who provide the most jobs in this country, she left out that Romney met with small business owners the same day and took questions. If anyone else is interested there is an article and video at mittromneycentral dot com which includes both visits.
And I'm sure Emily doesn't have money in a bank, a credit card or a mortgage with a company who took TARP. I know I do. All three.
Millions of people are still out of work in this country or underemployed, maybe ABC doesn't care but I do.

Why do Republicans complain about TARP? Wouldn't unemployment be worse if more companies had gone bankrupt?
Of the $245 billion spent on TARP to banks, $169 billion has already been repaid, including $13 billion in dividends and interest.
When all the companies have repaid, with interest, the total cost will be less than $25 billion, which is much less than it cost to bail banks out during the savings & loan crisis in the 80's.
This whole mess happened because of banking de-regulation. And wouldn't you know many Republicans are wanting to cancel banking regulations again!
History is not their strong suit!
