ABC News’ Sheila Marikar (@SheilaYM) reports:
The new documentary about Sarah Palin will premiere in Pella, Iowa on Tuesday, the same day President Barack Obama plans to visit the state.
A source close to the film told ABC News that Palin has been invited to “The Undefeated” premiere, which will take place at the historic Pella Opera House. Neither Palin’s team nor the people behind the movie could confirm if she will attend.
In addition to coinciding with President Obama’s visit, the premiere falls one day after tea party favorite Michele Bachmann is slated to launch her 2012 presidential campaign in Waterloo, Iowa.
“The Undefeated” chronicles Palin’s rise from small town mayor to Alaska governor to vice presidential candidate. Filmmaker Stephen K. Bannon told ABC News at a recent screening that he wanted to debut the film in Iowa’s iconic Field of Dreams, “but they just don't do these things."
Earlier this month, Palin told ABC News that she wanted to take her “One Nation” bus tour to Iowa. “The Undefeated” premiere would be a prime time to do so — its reception there may signal how she’d fare in the key state if she jumps into the 2012 presidential race.
