ABC News' Mary Bruce reports:
On the President’s agenda for today: national security, job creation and 2012 fundraising.
After meeting with senior advisors in the morning, this afternoon the President and Vice President will meet with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office. Among other things, they will likely discuss developments in Afghanistan and Pakistan ahead of Clinton’s appearance before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Thursday.
Later, Obama and Biden will welcome a bipartisan group of mayors to the White House to discuss the economy. The President and Vice President will “hear from the mayors about their local efforts to create jobs and spur economic growth,” according to the White House.
Still no word on whether Obama’s former Chief of Staff, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel will be attending.
In the evening, the Candidate in Chief will deliver remarks at two DNC fundraisers in Washington, D.C.
