I love how they talk about Obama as weak, because he won’t walk all over the poor, and the elderly, while they bend over backwards to support their billionaire friends. While Boehner, and McConnell are about the only one of the crowd, willing to talk about giving in a little, Ryan, and Cantor are more than willing to take from those least able to give. REAL MEN???

Does everybody in this country have amnesia? The Republicans had control of Congress from 2001 to 2006. They could have started a balanced budget amendment then. Instead they were telling us that deficits were a good thing.

Indy from Indy…independents are ‘running from him’? LOL…is that why he received over 250,000 NEW contributions (i.e. brand new contributors) to his campaign? I have always noticed that’mid-west’ conservatives never look ‘beyond’ their local ‘locale’ when they make these preposterous ‘declarations’. The American public should determine what should be done with the world’s largest budget? Should we next do brain surgery based on opinion polls of the American people? Where’s the statemanship of those knowlegeable about the budget to do right by America? The vast majority of economists say that taxes have to raised and cuts considered more than EITHER side wants to do – particularly in the billions spent on military research the Pentagon says it can’t use but is being done by campaign contributors.

Nephron — The ‘carried interest’ loophole is a perfect example of a loophole that needs to be closed. It allows billionaire hedge fund managers to pay only 15% tax on their earnings instead of the highest marginal rate based on their earnings. Estimates are it costs the treasury over $2 billion a year in lost revenue. Hedge fund managers are not job creators, yet they are protected by Boehner and Company as ‘small businessmen’. The top hedge fund manager last year made almost $5 billion, and paid 15% tax on that. I made one helluva lot less and pay a higher rate. So did you………
