It’s funny how so many anti-religious people automatically make assumptions about what people praying are doing. This was to make a point. The person who said “what do religious people care about money” clearly knows nothing about Jesus. He talked about the poor over and over again. Your born-again snarky atheism (which is its own fundy religion) does nothing to help people.

For God’s sake, they are citizens, and they have right to express themselves freely and peacefully. Maybe the police should arrest congress for holding the nation hostage with this debt deal.

Is it really illegal to kneel and pray in the rotunda? And even if it is, since when is it okay to lift a wheelchair user out of his chair? I hope the Rabbi is okay; some wheelies can be seriously endangered when out of their secure structure. Since I seriously doubt the Rabbi was resisting arrest, I wonder why they thought they ought to lift him anyway?

In fact, I think they should all swear an oath prior to debating to tell the truth. These folks, especially the Demoncrats need all the prayers we can send their way.

This was a peaceful,praying group. How could they be arrested? Watch out, America! The founding father’s prayed for guidance! It looks like our rights for freedom of Religion and free speech are being taken away. Something like this happened in Germany during WWII! Could this be a warning to us?

Ok, Seriously I have the right to go and Pray for whom ever I like where ever I like!!!! It seriously hurts my heart to know I can go to the exact place they were satnding and use as many 4 letter words as I like and that be ok! Or dress trashy and thats ok too or display affection that is a lil over board but If I go pray I will be arrested! Well tonight as I always do I will pray where ever I am and I will Pray for all of YOU!!! I am proud to be a christian and so proud of those who will stand for our God and for those who can Not stand for themselves!

This report doesn’t tell the whole story. There were Jews and Muslims there too, not just Christians. The Christians that were there are often mocked by the religious right, so they should not be lumped in the same category. These folks were attempting to speak out on behalf of the poor. They were not there to convert anyone, but to speak out about how the debt and budget deliberations would affect the poor and working class. They have a right to do that.
