Obama and Biden Cancel Many Fundraisers Outside of Washington
ABC News' Ann Compton (@AnnCompton) reports:
Obama campaign officials confirm to ABC News that actual cancellations are now in effect for more than a half dozen political fundraisers that were to take President Obama to the West Coast and Vice President Biden to three cities across the South.
An uncertain fate awaits a fundraising celebration for President Obama’s 50th birthday in his hometown Chicago. He might not be able to attend on August 3, a day before the birthday and one day after the default deadline for the debt ceiling. The cancellations were first reported by the Chicago Sun Times.
Tonight, one fundraiser in a private home here in Washington has been cancelled, and another in a hotel will get Vice President Biden instead of a presidential appearance.
A New York fundraiser last week was postponed until August because of the ongoing negotiations for raise the debt ceiling.

Our Campaigner-In-Chief spent his time as a Junior Senator running for President. He has spent his time as President — ‘running for President’. He is not qualified to do his job.
Democrats took control of Congress in 2006. They took control of our White House in 2008. They have no problem governing AGAINST the will of the American people.
Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the other liberals, along with the biased media, Soros, Unions, Acorn, etc., based the entire 2008 campaign on lies. They simply cannot be trusted.
NO MORE CLOSED DOOR MEETINGS!!! Hold meetings on the floor where they should be held! So WE THE People can see for ourselves…who is serious! Closed door meetings looks like “business as usual” and obama is slick! The Republicans come out looking like the bad guy!!! That’s what the dems do! All the dems are..are words and image! Let us see and hear what is going on!!
We need to replace the Dems ASAP. God help us all!

Obama vs America….no….mey God help this country if the middle class doesn’t get smarter. Because in 2010 they proved how emotional and shallow they were by voting for a bunch of idiots (tea party conservatives) who are threatening the financial stability of the whole country. Never ceases to amaze me just how well ‘paranoia and emotional BS’ works on the dumbed down part of the middle class. I guess it shouldn’t surprise me due to the State of our educational system. The middle class must want to feel what it is like to actually live in a 3rd world country.

Walt C …I see that you have ‘bought into the soundbite dogma’ of the right. Too bad…you have to be one of those that ‘continue to vote against yourself’. See how easy it was for them to get you….a middle class person to ‘fight’ other middle class people? That is as best example of ‘class warfare’ I could show you. Depends now on whether you ‘get that or not. Bet you don’t.

Making a decision seems to be the hardest thing for Obama to do, which is undoubtedly why he keeps moving the goal posts in these negotiations.
Basking in adulation at campaign speeches is the only thing he’s actually competent to do.

I certainly don’t view it as middle class versus middle class. I view it as public sector verses private sector.
Those on the take from government are really bringing this country down. There needs to be some sacrafice made in the public sector. The private sector has had nothing but cuts to pay and losing jobs. High time for those in nonessential government jobs to be cut.

Just an Obama deception.
He is still calling from the White House to the East Coast and South to do his campaign fund raising.
He will just continue fund raising in his shameless political commercials using the inside of the White House as a back drop like he did a couple of weeks ago.
Just go Barry and get out of the way and let the two parties work something out concerning the mess in DC.
Who’s he kidding?

Dan Loeb used to be a huge Obama ambassador.
A registered Democrat, recently the hedge fund manager has been casting a vote for the GOP instead.
And in his latest investor letter, the Third Point chief blasts Obama’s leadership since taking office.
Loeb writes that the absence of leadership in Washington at the moment is engendering a horrible business environment, via Dealbreaker:
Posted by: Fascist Hyena | July 25, 2011, 12:53 pm 12:53 pm
Then Loeb goes after Obama specifically:
There has been much said about who is allegedly the “adult in the room,” but President Obama has yet to speak to Americans as adults, insisting instead on his preferred technique — stirring up class warfare.
Scaring senior citizens about the possibility of not receiving their Social Security and Medicare checks, lambasting the corporate jet industry, and calling for higher taxes on managers of private partnerships is not a constructive approach to handling a multi-trillion dollar problem that will have a multi-generational impact.
It’s increasingly difficult to avoid that conclusion that while Washington burns, President Obama is fiddling away by insisting that the only solution to the nation’s problems — whether unemployment, the debt ceiling or deficit reductions — lies in redistribution of wealth.
Perhaps the difference between President Obama and many Americans is that the president sees prosperity as a sign of “unfairness” that needs to be corrected by government via higher taxes and increased regulation. Perhaps a plan that led the way forward by expanding oppportunities rather than redistrbuting incomes and emphasizing growth and prosperity for all would be met with less political resistance.

He is making decisions and that is saying No to the demands of the republicans where they only want to cut things for the middle class but refuse to consider adding the upper income bracket to the cause. Once again pay attention to Wisconsin…they have already ousted one rep. because of their lies and deceptions and for taking away things from the middle class while giving corporations more tax breaks. They are fooling no one and no matter what… they are not winning in the public’s eye. All the polls show this as they are now seeing what was actually accomplished by the 2010 elections and they don’t like it. Every state that now has a republican governor is now planning on how soon they can get rid of him because of what they are doing to their state. Please don’t give me that those people are the ones who hire and need the tax breaks..that is baloney…it never produced jobs and never will. Infrastructure and investing in the country will produce jobs…cutting is necessary but spending is what really puts the economy in shape. We need to do both if you listen to the experts. What the republicans fail to understand is that they were put in office to make things happen and get things done not to be obstructionists and concentrate on one thing…keeping Obama to a one term president which they all seem to say openly…how about makeing good decisions and getting things done and compromising once in a while….that is why you were put there not to hold this country hostage to all of your demands especially when it affects the middle class only.

“What the republicans fail to understand is that they were put in office to make things happen and get things done not to be obstructionists and concentrate on one thing…keeping Obama to a one term president.” -talmag
If the voters wanted to get things done in the direction Obama was moving, the voters would’ve elected more Democrats instead of Republicans. How you can come to the conclusion you did is beyond the simplest logic.
Posted by: Larry | July 25, 2011, 2:15 pm 2:15 pm
The republicans had the opportunity to come out looking like winners two weeks ago…this president agreed to most of their terms even medicare and social security cut backs and they said No because he wanted to include taking away some tax breaks for those making millions. They showed where their allegience is…and it is not for the little guy it is for corporations. The republicans who live in fear of the tea party do not realize how stupid they now look. Even many republicans admit they made a mistake…at least the few honest ones left..by not taking that package. Once again the tea party rears it’s head to show just how hateful they are to government and yet they are in the government. If they want to take away something to create a better deficit..how about taking away the health care of all the congress and the senate and even the president which the little guy pays for. They do not pay one dime toward their healthcare and that of their families so here is a great way to save money. If you take away medicare..that is what should happen to them. I even think the president would be willing to do this. If the republicans/tea party refuse to compromise and insist on killing medicare and social security which should not even be in the mix because they are solvent and could be addressed at a later date..I think you just might see some posters/demonstrations insisting on this idea because the people are tired of always being the only ones who must sacrifice for the betterment of the country while others seem to be sitting on millions of dollars not investing, not hiring and enjoying this nonesense created by the tea party and the Koch Brothers. Wake up people…because the country is finally seeing you and what your real intent is for coming years. No middle class…just the poor who they call lazy and the rich..which is them…happy and rich.
Posted by: talmag | July 25, 2011, 2:17 pm 2:17 pm
After doing some research, the President has to schedule ‘official business’ coinciding with the fundraisers in order to justify the use of AF1. So they’re not only cancelling the fundraisers, but the other events too.

Posted by: J.R. | July 25, 2011, 2:21 pm 2:21 pm
Larry I am so glad you said that because that is what the reps are all thinking. Think again..there are efforts all over especially in the state of Wisconsin which has already removed one republican and are trying to remove more including Walker.Recall! If everyone is so happy…why do you think this is happening. They lied to the public saying they would create jobs…they have not created one job nor one plan to create them. The people in Florida Minnesota, New Jersey and Wisconsin and Virginia are all sorry they elected the republicans and I think you will see in the next elections many will not be returned to their jobs,…I know Walker will not if he lasts that long. For once, the people are rising up and doing something and taking back their state as in Wisconsin. Ohio is experienceing this also. When one party (republicans) keep taking more from the middle class and giving everything to the rich..it may take some time for them to see this but they are now and reacting…don’t be so confident and sure of yourself…The people of Wisconsin are standing up and getting rid of the liars and this will carry over to the Congress in the next election. The public is not behind the tactics of the republican party in these negotiations every poll shows they are standing behind the president..so think again…what happened in 2010 is not pleasing anyone…don’t be too smug.

Shucks…I was hoping he continued his usual Constant Campaigning……keep him out of the serious discussions we are having in this country…….find another “safe” college campus or windmill factory, but chill out from the problems being suffered by this nation. PS….learn to control your Administration “team”…..they, like you, should avoid pushing the current debt ceiling discussions by yelling out “DEFAULT!” That is probably one of the dumbest things both you and your “advisors” have said yet……..just act like adults, ok?

Even playing the words of the hero of the republican party.. Reagan has not brought the republicans to understand that we need to do both things raise revenue and cut. H said we need to do botht things…he raised the deficit and he raised taxes 11 times. I really think that a deal would have been made had it not been for the ignorance of the tea party in thinking they can cut their way to success. They refuse to listen to anyone and to those who disagree with them..they refer to them as communists. They like to bring up the Constitution regularly however even that.. when it does not agree with their thinking…they want to change it so it does. It doesn’t matter that our forefathers put a lot of thought into it and for many many years it has been successful..they feel it needs changes. Palin liked to criticize Obama because he was a lawyer…well, there were dozens of lawyers who worked on the Constitution and it seemed to work out o.k. To Larry…I would like to say that while being a republican once, I feel I can see the difference in the party to which I once had allegiance to for over 20 years. Now as an Independent, I see things as they are and realize that this is not the republican party of old..they got things done and knew when and how to compromise…this tea party republican party is too severe to ever see where they are wrong and will continue on pursuing things that are not always what is right for this country but for only one part of this country…the wealthy…which many of them are.

I don’t waste my time reading anything he has to say…it matters not.

The Obama administration’s push to mend its relationship with business has gone cold only six months into the effort.
Complaints abound about the regulations pouring out of federal agencies to implement the federal healthcare and financial regulation laws.
There’s also fear that labor-friendly policies emerging from the National Labor Relations Board and tax-reform legislation expected in 2012 will further hold back growth.
“With the Obama administration, it just seems to be relentless,” said David Rhoa, owner of a bulk-mailing facility based in Kalamazoo, Mich. “I’ve become accustomed to the fact that this pummeling keeps coming.”

I hate when I get to the party late and nobody is likely to see my comment. Talmag couldn’t be more wrong about Wisconsin. NO Republican was removed. One Dem did win his own recall simply because his challenger screwed up on getting enough signatures to run against him so he had virtually no competition. Walker’s been succeeding beyond anybody’s wildest expectations. Wisconsin created half the jobs created in the entire country in the month of June. School districts that didn’t rush new union contracts through before the Walker bill are saving millions in health insurance and pension benefits, and are using that money to hire MORE teachers and reduce class sizes. I could go on, but well, like I said, nobody’s going to read this.

to solve all the problems, the government needs to borrow more trillions but make no cuts, because if they cut the budget, that will hurt the reelection efforts of someone in congress. So keep doing what they are doing and funding wars all over the world and paying entitlements based on outdated models. Yes–that will work somehow. Just print more money.
