ABC News’ Arlette Saenz (@arlettesaenz) reports:
Gov. Rick Perry is not interested the vice presidential slot in 2012 because he thinks the job of governor of Texas is better than being VP.
“I think you kind of go, vice-president, governor of Texas — and that kind of answers itself,” Perry told reporters today, according to the Texas Tribune.
Perry, who is still thinking about jumping into the presidential race, said his wife has pushed him to “get out of your comfort zone” and seriously consider running for president in 2012.
Donors are meeting in Austin today to evaluate whether Perry can raise the money to successfully launch a presidential bid. Perry said he will have dinner with the would-be donors tonight.
