The poll accurately reflects fhe feelings of the majority of the American electorate. We have been witness to one of most polarized, intractable displays of legislative dysfunction. The blame lies squarely on the Congressional members we elected to represent US, the majority, who’ve, by their disgusting debacle, demonstrated that they couldn’t care less about the majority. They pander to the deep pockets of corporations, banks, investment houses and the top 2% of the population.
Obama is stuck with the flatsom & jestsom of his predecessor and I believe he is doing his level best to clean it up. Congress, however,is so self-absorbed to see beyond the ends of their own noeses.

Stop pussyfooting around increase the debt ceiling figure out a viable solution later. this will give you more time to get it right.

I don’t blame the government as a whole for mistakes we make. I’m glad to have a government. I do blame some politicians in the government for the mistakes. On our economy and on failure to raise our debt limit I blame the republicans. Our borrowing habit was started by Reagan(R) and practised by every single republican president after him. Reagan and the 1st Bush more than quadrupled our debt in just 12 years. Bush Jr. more than doubled our debt in just 8 years. Before Reagan our debt was $900 billion that amount reflects total debt accumulated over a period of more than a century. Clinton(D) was the only president in recent history who managed to have a balanced budget and accumulated a big surplus during his second term. But that surplus and balanced budget disappeared almost immediately after Bush Jr.(R) took office. When one of the richest American, Warren Buffetts, said his tax rate was lower than that of his receptionist we know our tax system is not fair. But republicans continue to shield the rich from paying their fair shares.

Raising taxes on people like me won’t gain you a dime, folks. I don’t need the money that badly, and I’ll just slow down. Obama can threaten to with-hold Granny’s checks, but I can just decide to stop allowing her to schedule appointments. Good luck with that nurse practitioner.

1.Eliminate Social Security for everyone 24 and younger. Require participation in retirement savings plan of choice (tax free retirement savings deductions from paychecks in place of Social Security Tax. (Penalty for early withdrawals unless 60+yrs of age.) 2.Everyone 25-40 receives a guarantee of returned SS contributions as a lump-sum (taxable) distribution (avoided if immediately rolled over into an IRA or other retirement savings.)
3. Everyone 41-55 receives a guarantee of returned SS contributions as a lump-sum (non-taxable) distribution which must be immediately rolled over into an IRA or other retirement savings or suffer penalty equal to amount of tax otherwise incurred.
4. Everyone 56+ is grandfathered into existing plan, may elect to receive lump-sum distribution under #3.
