ABC News’ Devin Dwyer (@devindwyer) reports:
Vice President Joe Biden has been refreshed. On Facebook, that is.
The VP’s profile page has been revamped as part of President Obama’s reelection campaign, featuring a new avatar of his likeness with the 2012 logo, and a message to supporters that the site will be managed from campaign headquarters in Chicago.
“Through his page, we'll keep you up to date on all the news from the VP, the issues he cares about, and his appearances in Washington and on the campaign trail,” an aide wrote in a blog post on the campaign website.
The Facebook update for Biden comes a little more than a week after he joined Twitter. Both social media networks are expected to play an integral part of the Obama campaign’s messaging over the next 16 months.
Last month, President Obama’s Facebook and Twitter profiles shifted into campaign mode, receiving similar stylistic updates and a notice that the accounts would no longer be directly handled by the White House.
Biden has more than 298,000 Facebook fans. Obama has more than 22 million.
