Taking the country back is political code to be filled in by the beliefs of man racists. Take the country back... from minorities, from this muslim Barack Hussein Obama... Truth is... by his actions, President Obama has done more to protect this nation, help the poor, educate those who want it, save jobs and get terrorist number one than any president of the past century.

The republicans are betting on the ignorance of some Americans. House republicans will not get anything accomplished while they are in officed right now. They will bring this country to near destruction with the goal that the American people will blame the president. Clearly those who understand government know the president doesn't have control over Congress and indeed this Congress has the ability to make America suceed or fail. So when you vote in 2012 remember it is almost MORE important who you vote in Congress. The President is the one who will approve their collected efforts to move the country forward. The current republican cry is to take the country back. Back where?

Our president is doing an exceptionally well job with the hand he was dealt. An economy spiraling out of control before he was sworn in and really less than two years to work that economy and get his agenda passed with a cooperative Congress. Trust me, democrats caused themselves to get elected out of office in 2010 by not get health care passed quickly like Pres Obama told them to do. They allowed the repubs to propaganda lies surrounding the process.

The analysis of the effects of the Electoral College on a third party candidacy is basically correct, as is the conclusion about the results of a contingent election in the House. The difference between 2012 and Bush v. Gore is that voters would be able to threaten retaliation if the House disregarded their will. This would have an enormous effect on the legitimacy of the winner. And it might lead to policy concessions by the winner to either the third party candidate or the Democrats in order to create a workable governing coalition. Compared to the Bush v. Gore outcome, none of this seems like a bad thing. Bear in mind that in saying that Bush v. Gore was wrong--and that the election should have gone to the House--the result would have been the same--Bush would have won. The differences are accountability and legitimacy of the result. But the real solution is to abolish the Electoral College; a bad idea when it was invented, and a truly bad one today. George W. Van Cleve

Huntsman is not A republican. may garner 2% of vote is that enough to win for Obama
not sure but another 2% to probably Green
party candidate and Obama's chances are better. All depends on the economy 1 year
from now. Guessing games are as bad as crystal balls.

"by the manner in which former governor and Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman is conducting himself this week in high profile criticizing his own party, he and his campaign might also be eyeing this probability." - Matthew Dowd
Huuummmm . . . . . the Charlie Crist strategy.
"If Republicans nominate an extremely polarizing figure . . . " - Matthew Dowd
You mean a political figure similar to Marco Rubio?
"Second, the third-party candidate draws a large minority percentage of the vote, but doesn’t win any states (thus electoral votes). This scenario likely re-elects Obama," - Matthew Dowd
That's not what happened in Florida in 2010.
Hey Matt, conventional wisdom doesn't apply this go around.
The country wants a fiscal conservative, which Huntsman and NoBo are not.
If the Repub Candidate is a Conservative he or she will win.

The primary problem with a third party is that Obama's core backers would vote out of pure blind loyalty to either his socialist politics or his race. Accordingly, a third party candidate (Can you say "Perot") would split the Republican vote and put Obama back in with less of a mandate than he had the first go around but with the same belief that a majority of voters in America want him back...we don't.
