ABC News Sarah Kunin (@Sarah_Kunin) reports:

Jon Huntsman is certainly settling into his new, outspoken campaign 2.0 approach. Maybe, in fact, he's a little too comfortable, as illustrated in an interview with New York Magazine.

When asked about how Rep. Michelle Bachmann's image as presidential candidate has played out in the media, Huntsman candidly told NY Magazine's John Heilemann: "She makes for good copy–and good photography."

Huntsman's off-the-cuff remark instantly raised eyebrows. He has feverishly campaigned on his "civility candidate" status, and rarely ditches his model-diplomat tone.

This afternoon, Huntsman addressed the quote on Fox News, explaining that he was simply admiring the congresswoman.

"Oh, listen, I was trying to compliment Rep. Bachmann, calling somebody photogenic," he said. " I wish we were all that photogenic. She's an elected official, she's doing a great job and I have high regard for her."
