ABC News’ Shushannah Walshe (@shushwalshe) reports:
It sure looks like she’s running. Sarah Palin is continuing to make moves to suggest she will enter the presidential race, including setting her timeline for making a decision next month and now a new video released by SarahPAC highlighting her trip to Iowa last week.
The video called “Iowa Passion” uses footage of a feisty Palin, positive media coverage of her trip to the Iowa State Fair, and interviews with supporters to produce a video that looks a lot like a campaign commercial.
Palin has said she will make a decision on whether to enter the race next month. She told Fox News Thursday that she is “still listening to the debate and the discourse in the GOP line up right now and still looking for that candidate who I can put my heart and soul behind to support. If I don’t see that person here in short order I would be willing to put my name forward in the name of service.”
The video is produced by PassCode Creative which did SarahPAC’s previous videos, most notably “Mama Grizzly” which highlighted conservative women at Palin’s events around the country.
“Iowa Passion” released on Friday features Palin greeting supporters at the fair, the former Alaska governor getting some fried butter on a stick, and being followed by a mass of media around the fairgrounds. It also features friendly coverage from the media including CNN’s Wolf Blitzer saying, “How nice of Sarah Palin to stay and answer questions.” And an energetic Palin telling Fox News host Sean Hannity that there is a “great awakening of the American public” taking place.
Palin continues to be discounted by many in the GOP establishment and the press who believe she will not enter the race. Despite the media frenzy surrounding her trip to Iowa just days before the Ames straw poll, she received less than one percent of write-in votes at the poll. However, this does not deter her passionate supporters who point to her comments on Fox News and now this video as signs she will run. Many of those supporters are now in Iowa as volunteers trying to lay a groundwork ahead of what they view as an inevitable run.
The video ends with her signature mama grizzly giving a roar and a message: “Thank you Iowa! See you again September 3rd.” Palin heads back to the first caucus state that day to headline a tea party rally.
Although there has been speculation that Palin may make her announcement that day, sources close to Palin do not believe that is likely. She is still seriously considering the decision and her husband Todd is encouraging her to join the race.
