Bachmann’s Meaty Moment on the Campaign Trail

Talk about serving up some red meat.

In what will almost surely go down as one of the most memorable photos of the 2012 campaign, Michele Bachmann toured a meat packing company in Des Moines today, posing for pictures with carcasses hanging all around her.

In her visit to the Amend plant, Bachmann took the opportunity to slice some beef herself, to highlight the importance of small businesses and to take an opportunity to dive into foreign affairs. She read a statement calling on President Obama not to allow Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to come to the United Nations meeting in New York.

Unfortunately for Bachmann, Ahmadinejad was already there.

Fortunately for reporters, the meat locker photo op went on anyway.
