Jon Huntsman to Appear on ‘The View’

After two months sitting at the bottom of the polls, rumors of internal conflict between Jon Huntsman’s top staffers and family members swirled around the campaign. “Why isn’t he on any of the talk shows yet?” wife Mary Kaye allegedly asked his managers, according to Politico. “Why isn’t he on ‘The View?’”

If the rumors are true, Mary Kaye’s prayers have been answered. Huntsman and his wife will appear on the 15th season of ‘The View’ on Thursday, October 6th, marking their first daytime television appearance ever.

‘The View’ has become a crucial campaign stop for politicians looking for the daytime television bump; Mitt Romney, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden  have all stopped by the ABC studios in attempts to appeal to the show’s vast female audience. The “ladies have a strong appetite for current events…[and] understand it’s not just the issues making the news but the personalities,” Romney’s adviser Eric Fehrnstrom told the Wall Street Journal when he appeared on the show to promote his book.

Huntsman won’t be the only political face to show up alongside Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg. Former Vice President Dick Cheney will appear on the show as part of the “Red, White & View” series on Tuesday, September 13th.
