Sarah Palin’s Saturday Speech Will Be a ‘Full Throated Defense of the Tea Party’

ABC’s Shushannah Walshe and Sheila Marikar report:

Two days before Sarah Palin’s much anticipated, on, off, and on again Iowa speech, details are emerging about what the former Alaska governor will say.

A source close to Palin told ABC News that she’ll offer a “full throated defense of the tea party.”

“Regardless of what she decides to do, this rally is for the tea party to kick off this campaign,” the source said, “this” being the 2012 presidential campaign.

ABC News has also learned that Palin’s speech will reference themes from an Aug. 8 Facebook post called “Conquering the Storm.” It discusses the Standard & Poor’s downgrade of the nation’s credit rating and her solutions to the country’s financial woes.

A source close to Palin told ABC News last week that her speech at Saturday’s “Restoring America” event will be a substantive, big-picture vision of America. Palin herself alluded to what she’ll discuss on Aug. 25, when she tweeted a link to a YouTube video entitled “Obama Lies 7 Times In Under 2 Minutes!” and wrote, “I’ll be talking about this and more on September 3rd.”

Palin is slated to be the last speaker at the Tea Party of America’s Saturday rally, which will also feature the likes of Iowa Tea Party chairman Ryan Rhodes, radio host Tony Katz and Los Angeles-based comedian Eric Golub.

Despite confirming her appearance at the rally on Wednesday after putting her participation in the event on hold, all is still not well between the rally’s organizers and Palin’s political action committee. A source close to SarahPAC told ABC News that her team is upset about how the Tea Party of America seemed to hype the event based on the chance Palin would announce her 2012 intentions at the rally.

Palin to Meet Supporters Ahead of Saturday Rally

ABC News has also learned that ahead of her speech, Palin will attend a Conservatives4Palin meet-up in Urbandale, Iowa, on Friday evening. It will be the first time Palin has attended a meeting of the independent group of supporters, many of whom are traveling from across the country to hear her speak.

Conservatives4Palin was started by Palin’s current aide and speechwriter, Rebecca Mansour. Many of the group’s members are also trying to build a grassroots base for Palin through the group Organize4Palin.

ABC News’ John Berman contributed to this report.

Obama’s Job speech will be a half-hearted defense of American workers.

Tea-Party seems to hate organized labor so what do they do, use the weekend that reflects about the past laborers (union and non-union) to kick off their fall campaign. Interesting indeed.

Nice if it was going to be a full-brained defense, but miracles don’t happen.

That’s good since the Tea Party is our only chance at becoming fiscally responsible.
Now wouldn’t it be nice if NoBo would also speak up for the Tea Party?
No chance of that because spending cuts threaten his misguided socialism.

When the likes of Waters and Somers have to claim racism when non exists as the only thing they have to bash and smear the Tea Party, only proves how desperate and pathetic the democrat party has become.

Palin is nothing but a dangerous demagogue who threatens to ruin the Republican’s chance to get Obama out of the Oval Office and get the nation back on the track to greatness. Her small-minded, self-centered greed is her primary personal motivation and her addiction to the spotlight a close second. As a political thinker she is simply a fraud who lacks the ability to formulate a sensible thought. Strangely, she strings empty words together in sentences that her followers cheer mindlessly. Whatever Palin says, her admirers seem to hear what they want to hear. She is indeed a phenomenon, but a very venomous one. Her selfishness has put the republic at risk and along with her cohorts, Bachmann and Perry, a juggernaught of stupidity has turned the primary process into a circus.

All ‘Caribou Barbie’ is doing is defending her ‘meal ticket”…where she makes all her ”personal money’…even thought its is the ‘very negative, divisive and backwards element’ that is tearing the GOP apart. Wake up people and for once in your life…follow the money trail …and ‘get’ what is going on. Politics….especially on the Right side of the ledger is ‘ALL ABOUT THE MONEY’. THEY SIMPLY DON’T CARE about middle class or blue collar people!

Businesses continue to close, jobs disappear or go overseas, more people sign up for food stamps and unemployment, deficits rise, home values fall and health care costs increase. Those that accept this situation as their fate blame republicans and those that are actually working to save this country from the current financial tsunami are called the tea party.

Everyone is busy complaining about Democrats, Republicans and the President. I feel the problem is with all of them. Not one of them can be considered anything less than upper class. They do not live by the same laws we do as they are all except from so many. Yet every single one preaches they know what America wants and needs as they all bring pork barrel spending programs. I think it is time to throw every single one out. Problem is there is no candidate from any party who does not fit into the same categories. Someone on here said the Republican candidates do not have any answers to our problems and I agree 100%. But the Democrats don’t either! Where is a candidate that is really interested in what is best for this country and NOT in taking more money, projects or whatever back to their constituents for re-election? I am fed up with the government and ready to take it back.

Sarah Palin doesn’t want the responsibilities of higher office but she is hell bent on getting even with President Obama. She has turned her political loss to a gravy train–but she does this by spreading her message of hate. She wants her family to be the American version of Royalty–but the titles she has earned for this recognition are: Queen of Hate; Queen Blah Blah;; Queen of Mean: Queen of Indecision; Queen of Greed or Cheerleader that is all Fluff and no Facts. $arah is polarizing and divisive and will parrot every negative thought that the Republicans or Tea Party leaders can offer. She is mean as a pit bull and cannot be trusted like a grizzly. Alaskans recognize how she tried to tear their Government down for her own personal promotion and polls say that over 70% of their voters would never want to have her elected for any office in their state. She spreads her hate wherever she goes–and takes no responsibility for her nonsense, claiming that she is a Christian. Her speech and actions show that she is more like the devil and should be feared for the destruction of our political system. She is like the mean girl who turns down a guy for a date–but wants to ruin the guy’s reputation and make sure that nobody else will go to the prom with him. Her skill is tearing other political figures down because in her sick mind she thinks this will make her look better. She isn’t smart enough to offer solutions so she hides behind the speeches that her agents write for her and the support that FOX offers her–but she lacks the intelligence to answer questions about what they have written for her. McCain’s staff members were right–she is good at self promotion but Palin is not a team player and she is very very dangerous because she goes rogue whenever it will line her pocketbook. Show Me the Money even trademarks her name so nobody but the Palin family will benefit from what she has to offer. Palin is very similar to Hitler–both very self centered and full of hate.

Figured I’d come back and glance over some of the comments for laughs, and laugh I did. Tell me Charity, what job creating bills did the republicans block???

I’d love to hear people like Charity explain why Harry Reid killed three bills from reaching the Senate. Those three bills that the House passed that dealt with the budget and would have prevented the credit down grade. But no, she just spews forth old talking points.

Palin is the most vetted politician in history, and all of her ‘negatives’ are based on lies.

Sticking her neck out confronting Obama,
24,000 emails, and an independently made movie,
all show that Sarah Palin is a hard working, capable, incorruptible, servant of the people.

Palin has the truth on her side. The more that comes to light, the better for her.
This is exactly the opposite for most of her opponents and especially Obama.

Sarah gets the biggest crowds, and the most comments on news sites -

Because she quit fighting? No..
Because she is irrelevant? No.
Because she is defeated? No

Because she motivates patriots and scares the cr*p out of socialists? Yep. That’s the one.

Charity — The government doesn’t create real jobs, only fake jobs working for the government and that only adds to the problems of this country. Only the private sector can create jobs. Yet I get a feeling that you would just love the government to give everyone (exept republicans) a job paying a decent middle class income with bennefits. I bet you think that would solve all problems, and the only thing standing in the way of this utopian way is the republicans.

Sarah Palin is the most divisive idiot I have seen in this country. The only reason she is going around making speechs because she knows of the lunacy and racism that exist within the teaparty and she is just capitalizing on this financially.

Posted by: achillies | September 2, 2011, 10:09 am 10:09 am

Achillies,

So what are your thoughts on Waters saying that the Tea Party should “burn in hell”. Isn’t that being the most divisive? Or how about Carson and his racist claims without a single shred of proof to back up his divisive rant?

Posted by: kate | September 2, 2011, 10:19 am 10:19 am

We never hear Tea Party people mention helping the poor or people without adequate access to health care. That indicates that their focus is narrow minded and even bigoted. They don’t use overt racist rhetoric out of political correctness.

Palin, Bachman and Perry are all about soundbites. I agree Palin is doing this for attention I mean look at her schedule she is doing everything at the last minute. One minute here one minute there. Bachman tries to compare herself to other successful Conservative leaders Reagan, now Thatcher. REALLY? She can’t be herself because she doesn’t know what she is talking about. Look at her past comments! Perry is name dropper, who believes in sacrificing school budgets, over taxing the wealthy. All are hypocrites. That includes almost ALL the politicians, they will tell what you want to hear. As for the idiots repeating that we live under a Socialist government? Crack a book open sometime and get the true definition of the the words Communism and Socialism. Maybe even read a real book, such as Animal Farm. If we were a REAL Socialist government would you be sitting behind your computers whinning about how much we hate the government? Do you think the Sarah Palin’s of the world and the TEA party be allowed to publicly make stupid comments criticizing the government? As for those Democrats making playing the racist card? Do you really think that many people will listen to them? I don’t There are more idiots listening to Bachman, Palin and Perry than those two schmucks!

Angie….you are as ‘jaded’ with right wing thinking as Charity is naive with some of the things she has said. Oh by the way….if I remember correctly those ‘three job bills that Harry Reid killed’ all involved more ‘tax cuts for the wealthy’ that they currently have now. And boy those ‘Bush tax cuts’ really created the “jobs”…didn’t they? Let’s ‘get real’ with some of these arguments….and leave the partisan ideology out of it. How about it?

Posted by: CND FOX | September 2, 2011, 11:52 am 11:52 am

Palin is as evil and hateful as Bachmann! They are completely uninformed regarding the economy and proud of their ignorance! They actually take pride in being stupid as they screech their intention to vote against any increase in the debt ceiling whether it destroys the country or not because that’s what Paul Revere and the Founding Fathers would do! This is frightening, horrific, destructive stupidity, not something cute and endearing. These two women are bent on destroying all that is great about America! Their followers are ignorant savages who know nothing of American history or economic policies! They actually believe all government agencies and programs since Teddy Roosevelt should be done away with unless it’s Social Security, Medicare, or some other program they personally benefit from! All these people and the candidates they support, especially the most ignorant like Bachmann “Crazy Eyes”, and Palin “It’s All About Me, Me, Me!”, have no idea what they are talking about and should be denied power at any cost for the sake of the good, decent people in this country!

In my opinion about Sarah Palin: IF she does toss her hat into the race for the GOP Presidency, she will all of a sudden withdraw from the race. The reason being on the surface, some crisis ( she is very melodramatic ). The real reason will be that she will have on her resume’, Vice President Candident 2008 , Former Presidential Candidate 2012. Very impressive, then have enough money to try for 2016. .

Posted by: Scooby | September 2, 2011, 12:41 pm 12:41 pm

Scooby: That’s really perceptive and I think you’re right. Palin will get in the race and within a few weeks be “forced” to withdraw when some personal “crisis” arises. That way she can have that precious title, just like former governor, former presidential candidate. The woman is all ego and only ego! As there is so little brain function, the idea of being a former prWesidential candidate must have her fixated. What she did to the witch from Delaware that she actually endorsed, thereby destroying the Republican who could have won the Senate seat, shows she has no thought of anyone else by Sarah. It’s all Sarah all the time! Most Republicans will never forgive John McCain for so irresponsibly, in fact criminally, unleashing this curse upon the nation and the party! Obviously, no one on McCain’s staff, nor McCain himself spent any length of time talking to Palin or they would have quickly realized she is a very demented, narcissistic, and dangerous woman who basks in the idea of being completely ignorant as if ignorance and stupidity are badges of honor more valued than advanced degrees from Harvard, Yale, and the London School of Economics. In fact, this brainless idiot views actual degrees and higher education, or even studying a subject before declaring yourself an expert, as detrimental to the inner wisdom she has an abundance of. Oh, brother! Palin and Bachmann are cut from the same ugly cloth and it is amazing that the two of them should crawl out from obscurity at the same time and to such acclaim by a frightening group of equally ignorant, dangerous people in the Tea Party. These two women and the Tea Party will secure the re-election of Obama next year and they will all be set for another 4 years of speaking fees, tv appearances, and book sales. That has got to be the plan, as far as Palin is capable of planning anything. More money! More attention! Because if Obama is defeated and a capable Republican becomes president, what would Palin do? No one would listen to her whine any more. She would have no value as a bizarre curiousity, a freakish sideshow loudmouth. The paydays come to an end. It is in her interest and Bachmann’s interest as well that Obama remain in office. They have no loyalty to their party or the American people, no interest in the welfare of the nation. The only patriotic drive they have is the one that leads to the bank! They are truly ignorant, opportunistic trash who care nothing about America, only themselves, and what they are pulling borders on treason!

I’m not going to get into a name calling contest. I’m sure Sarah Palin is a nice lady, good mother, good wife as is Michelle Bachman, but lets face it, they are just not qualified to be presidant. I know, that a higher education, high IQ, or polical experience is is not a requirment to be presdient but it sure as hell helps. Traveling around the country, slamming president Obama will not get them elected, concrete solutions will. Why can’t they and the tea party figure this out.

Posted by: tmferretti | September 2, 2011, 2:49 pm 2:49 pm

It’s amazing to me that people who want less government (as like the Founding Fathers expressed in just a few little historical documents) and more personal responsibility are demonized. They’re criticized for being “older”, educated and well-dressed. When did these things become so offensive? Better they behave like the destructive thugs in Wisconsin? Should they destroy government (our) property to make their point? Just like the terrorists, their mischief doesn’t advance their cause. It only reinforces the cancer of groupthink. Is it offensive that the Tea Partiers are non-violent? The only ACTUAL violence (past and present) seems to be directed at conservatives. I don’t see any conservative “code pink” types crashes speeches and inciting unrest. You liberals are all for free speech unless it’s at odds with your dogma.

Posted by: s | September 2, 2011, 2:51 pm 2:51 pm

How do you defend Tea Baggers? They are indefensible. We HAD 18 months of straight job growth BEFORE Tea baggers came in and nearly destroyed the economy again! This past month there was NO job growth. Oh yeah, they’re going to ‘create jobs’. All they did was fight tooth and nail to keep the tax cuts for the richest 2%, nearly shut down the government over abortion and then nearly defaulted the nation because they dont understand the difference between paying the bills and cutting spending during a budgetary process. They constantly overreact, stand for the wrong things (tax cuts for the richest, obsessing over abortion over paying ss and military pay checks) and they have NO IDEAS for job creation. The economy was growing slowly, but at least it WAS growing….until the baggers got in. They thought the job growth was SOOOOOOO horrible, Obama was doing SUCH A horrible job with 200,.000 jobs growth per month. really??? then how sucky are you people now that since you’ve come in you tanked the stock market and stopped ANY job growth, the firsttime in 18 months we haven’t had positve job growth and it’s all your fault!! So, tell us, how much do you suck, then?

Posted by: whoopstheydiditagain | September 2, 2011, 2:53 pm 2:53 pm

Tea Baggers claimed Obama was doing horribly economically. With unemployment steady and slowly falling and growing only 200,000 jobs per month and a stable stock market. THAT, to them, was horrible unforgivable progress. So, now that since they’ve gotton in, and wreaked havoc on Washington, there has been NO job growth!!! NONE! Unemployment is no longer going down steadily, and they made the stock market crash and lose about 500 points. So if POSITIVE job growth sucked so bad when Obama was growing 200,000 jobs a month, do tell us, how much do you suck, Tea Baggers, now that you’ve tanked the stock market and killed the only job growth we had, huh? Yeah, let’s have MORE of that, huh? I’d take the 200,000 per month, personally, than the crashing stock markets and job killing behavior, thank you very much. Can’t wait till 2012 when we can end this painful experience that has been the TeaBaggers.

Posted by: whoopstheydiditagain | September 2, 2011, 2:56 pm 2:56 pm

TMFERRETTI…IQ has definitely not helped Obama. If forced to execute Obama’s idiotic policies, Einstein couldn’t make them work. Failed policies of the past will not magically work today because Obama wants to persue them. Can’t you (Democrat party) just finally admit that spending money we don’t have will not create prosperity? It hasn’t worked for any other free nation on the face of the planet. On what basis of logic should we expect that it will work here/now? He’d better come to the teleprompter (Thursday night) with something NEW.

Posted by: s | September 2, 2011, 2:57 pm 2:57 pm

Because she quit fighting? No..—-what do you call quitting her job half way through her term? What if all the soldiers quit half way through their service? YOu think fighting a war is less hard than being a governor of a state no one cares about that has more moose than people that has oodles of money from oil companies??? The more she, personally, is identified with the Tea Party, the worse they look, so hey, Sarah, knock yourself out. Given their horrific performance you’re complete air headed “Ringing those bells while Paul revere warned the British” I think the the Tea party is being painted in a very pretty picture.

Posted by: whoopstheydiditagain | September 2, 2011, 2:59 pm 2:59 pm

IQ has definitely not helped Obama.—he’s done 100% better than the TEa baggers have!!! Since the Tea Baggers have gotten in EVERYTHING has cotton MUCH WORSE! We were better off with Obama and a congress that worked with him.

Posted by: whoopstheydiditagain | September 2, 2011, 3:00 pm 3:00 pm

Can’t you (Democrat party) just finally admit that spending money we don’t have will not create prosperity?—had we not spent the money we did we’d haVe 40% unemployment right now. That is REALY easy to prove. take the 700,000 jobs lost PER MONTH while bush was office, while the banks were failing, that was NOT going down, and the stock market continuing to crash and just project those numbers out to now. There was NOTHIING to stop the free fall. in fact, free fall self-feeds, so the more business going under, the more uneployed there are, the more banks run out of money, which causes more businesses to fail, like a snow ball rolling down a hill. Dothe numbers. It comes out to 40% unemployment. So, no, I can do math, so I KNOW that spending that money saved us from a Depression. Anyone with half a brain knows that. FDR DID get unemployment FROM 25% down 16% TO 9% BEFORE WWII started by spending on work projects on roads, bridges and R&D in technical fields. That is just fact. It works. It’s been proven a thousands times before. The only drivel that says it doesn’t work are jokes who are not considered read economists. Herbert Hoover did what those type of people wanted and Herbert Hoover took 9% unemployment and turned it into 25% unemployment. It’s like saying Obama should cut taxes on the wealthy because that would grow jobs without acknowleding that WAS done for the past 10 years and it only grew the deficit through the roof with zero results.

Sara Palin becomes irrelavant because she absoulutely does not want to be confronted by anyone that has a high school diploma. She only wants to be around people that shower her with praise and admiration. I couldn’t help noticing her daughter standing next to her after she got off the bus. The look on her face said “What are we doing here?” and “Where are we going for lunch?” If she’s serious about what she believes in, go to a blue state and try to answer the real hard questions and leave the diatribe about how bad the president is and how he’s destroying America. Be part of the solution if you can . . . . . . .

Posted by: Dave | September 2, 2011, 3:09 pm 3:09 pm

Once again, another major disconnect when you read “those polls” and more “talking down” comments from the “establishment”:

Sarah Palin is chosen number 3 in everyone of the polls, ….yet….claims of 71% say she should stay at home?

…IT DOESN’T JIVE……You can’t be number 3, without trying, and then have the latter make sense.

The same was said, and polled, for Ronald Reagan back in 1980-81 and we all know how that turned out.

FACT: Republicans In Name Only are just as afraid of Sarah Palin as the Democrats. In fact they may be more so, because she “put many of them in jail”.

Both parties are corrupt to their core. That is why we see government, year after year, regardless of party, spend with impunity and recklessness. We see “crony capitalism” (payoffs) on both sides of the aisle.

Governor Sarah Palin is a “true blue anti-corruption” individual who walks the talk.

All Americans are well advised to THROW THEM ALL OUT and replace them with a “new beginning”…..

President Sarah Palin is the way!

S and NOZ

We are going to elect a president who will be responsible for the wefare of 300, 000, 000 people and in charge of the most powerful military in the world. You two seem to think education, smarts and basic knowledge is not a prerequiste. Do you tea partiers really belieive what you say, its scary

If you think the American people don’t believe the president is a well educated, smart, reasonable man your sadly mistaken. They might not like his policies but they like him. His biggest fault is not getting down in the mud with the republicans.

This “me generation” is amazing. Us old folks can remeber getting a smack on the butt and hearing those famous words from our mothers “if you can’t say one thing nice about someone, don’t say anything at all” The tea party behaving like spoiled brats will not get them anything. Try thinking like adults.

Posted by: tmferretti | September 2, 2011, 4:13 pm 4:13 pm

I agree with the Tea Party that the only way to get this country off the road to Hades is to get rid of Obama. However, why to Tea Baggers think the only way to accomplish that is to vote for some of the dumbest people on the planet. Palin and Bachmann define the word stupid and if you look in the dictionary, their photos are next to the definition. Is there a fear of educated people? You know, people with education and experience (something else the duo of dumbness don’t have) might have some real ideas and the ability to govern (without quiting.) For some weird reason, the fact these women are fools and idiots is a big attraction. Maybe because they are no threat to the sort of folks who follow them. Well, they sure are threatening to the rest of America. A high IQ is not required to be president but there should at least be an indication of brain waves. Cerebral activity can’t hurt but lack of it could cause real problems. Obama is supposedly intelligent and that hasn’t been much help to the country. Maybe having one of the numbskulls take over would be good for the country but most voters won’t want to risk electing a complete dope with no idea what she’s doing. I mean there’s dumb and then there’s DUMB! and Palin and Bachmann are really, really, incredibly DUMB!

The Tea Party ruined our credit rating and they’re full on idiots. Half of them in the caucus were former big spenders and they’re full of it.

Posted by: Secondlook | September 2, 2011, 6:34 pm 6:34 pm

And the haters come out to call Palin and the The Party “haters”. The Tea Party opposed the deficit spending bill that downgraded our credit rating and yet they are blamed for it even though they didn’t support it and pointed out that the bill would cause a downgrade in our credit. The lies about the Tea Party are widespread and baseless, but the left has no regard for honesty and truth. There’s no need for honesty in their agenda only the end which they believe will justify the means after the fact. The socialists have been doing their best job to assimilate people into their collective in a manner similar to the “Borg”. Well, Ok, that was a little geeky I guess…

Most of the people reading any of these news sites on here do not realize, that the last 2 years of President Bush’s administration, had a totally Democrat Congress to work with. He had things put in to become law, but the Democrats did not pass a one of them. Then we got this ‘Present’ administration, with still the first 2 years controlled by Democrats. The Newbies only came in office this year, 2011, controlled the House of Reps and got more things accomplished than the Democrats got done in 4 years of control of Congress. Yes! Everybody is afraid of Sarah Palin and they should be. If she runs, she will wipe all these evil EPA regulations out and bring this country back to producing and having our own resources such as oil, coal, and gas. Not depending on foreign countries for anything. Stop giving our taxpayers money to illegals and terrorists.

“They might not like his policies but they like him. His biggest fault is not getting down in the mud with the republicans.” – tmferretti

I like NoBo too. He’s a very nice man but a lousy President.
His biggest fault is his failure to understand how a Republic based on Capitalism really works. Fighting in the mud with the Repubs might make for an entertaining semi-reality show but it won’t do anything towards helping the nation heal.

NOZ

Its hard getting anything done when you have a Congress that is able to delay, fillibuster and refuses to compromize. The problem is that there are two different agendas, the presidents, getting America back to work and the tea party whose only goal is to make sure he’s not re-elected.

America is not a capitalist society, just ask anyone who has a new idea and has to compete with the large monopolies. Walmart and Home Depot have driven more small businesses out of existance than any government programs. When Adam Smith philosopized about Laissez Farre Capitalism he forgot to account for unbridled greeed.

Secondlook – You have it completely wrong (guessing that is usual for you). Harry Reid and the senate democrats ruined our credit rating over sour grapes and politcs by blocking those three bills that would have prevented us to have a downgraded rating.

If it looks like she’s going to win, put all your money into gold. The US dollar will be completely worthless if she or any of the other idiots in the Tea Party win.
Really funny reading the comments for the people here who try to blame the Democrats for the pitiful state of the US economy. Economic policy in the last 50 years has been exclusively dictated by the Republicans and the pitiful state of the US economy are the fruits of their policies.
They’ve been telling people what they want to hear as they continue to do despite the fact that it is the worst thing possible for their country. Not surprising though. These scumbags are in it for themselves. They don’t mind bankrupting the country as long as they skim more than their share of cream along the way.

“Economic policy in the last 50 years has been exclusively dictated by the Republicans and the pitiful state of the US economy are the fruits of their policies.” – Cory Barnes

Excuse me Cory, you forgot about Johnson’s War on Poverty and Carter’s 4 years not to mention the some of the silliness that Clinton got started.
Voters such as you are scary for the country and are a good reason to put in place a competency test for voting eligibility.

Clintons silliness resulted in a 2.5 % unemployment rate and a 300 billion dollar surplus. As for Jimmy Carter, maybe your to young to remember the Ford administration WIN buttons (wip inflation now) which Carter inherited. Johnsons war on poverty resulted in Medicare, which keeps millions of us old folks alive. He also desegregated this country, or would you prefer we go back to the good old days.

It’s the people that don’t read history or are too young to remember the depression and who caused it, that are scary.

TM

Clinton put in place the “Let’s make sure everyone can own a home” fiasco that Bush expanded on which led to the current fiscal recession/depression. Clinton’s bloated economic numbers were due to the Tech Bubble which had nothing to do with his policies and wasn’t real.
Carter imbedded himself in the Misery Index and wore it like a cardigan sweater.
Johnson’s War on Poverty was yet another Demo War the country lost and it led to making victimhood a way of life. Medicare is a good idea gone bad that is threatening to drown the country in debt. It needs a major overhaul which neither party is capable of even attempting right now and it’s doubtful they possess the skill set necessary to fix the problem.
The Tea Party is so far our only hope.
Too bad the Demos can’t find that Kennedy Spirit once again.

Your rosy portrayal of all things Demo is what’s scary my friend.

Palins statement about ” Polls are for Strippers ” is about as stupid as the “You can see Russia” One.
Survey POLLS are Important in politics . Stripper POLES are something else.

We have a mixed economy, comparatively to the rest of post industrial wealthy societies our country comes out bottom in helping the poor and young. You folks on the right screamed at the president when he wanted to increase funding for NASA, you said we didn’t have the money, then you folks screamed at the president when NASA closed its space shuttle program a directive by GWB in 2004, and the process of its program end began under his administration, and you folks screamed at the president for the shut down. Then you folks yell at the president for wanting more private sector involved in our space program and you call him a Socialist. Then you folks on the right get a little power back and played games with the debt ceiling, first time ever in front of the world and we get our first downgrade. TWIST it as you see fit, only fools will buy your fake gold.

Given that Palin turned her back on the citizens of Alaska and quit as governor half way through her first term the second Fox News waived money in front of her, it amazes me that she gets any traction amongst Tea Partiers. She’s the very definition of a sell out.

NOZ, apparently your guy GWB was into home ownership, he did nothing, too busy selling the American public on WMD and probably kept OBL hiding in Pakistan for all we know, after that last republican administration, anything is possible from the republicans. They keep on selling that fools gold to the American public, and apparently the scary part is they continue to buy it.

According to the CIA factbook “…US business firms enjoy greater flexibility than their counterparts in Western Europe and Japan in decisions to expand capital plant, to lay off surplus workers, and to develop new products. At the same time, they face higher barriers to enter their rivals’ home markets than foreign firms face entering US markets. US firms are at or near the forefront in technological advances, especially in computers and in medical, aerospace, and military equipment; their advantage has narrowed since the end of World War II…”

What do you think the health care bill is about, its overhauling Medicare. The republicans whine and moan about the costs but are not willingly to even work with the president on anything let alone health care.. Their agenda is to stop the re-election of President Obama, nothing else. They feel a bad economy is a good chance to get one of their current candidtaes elected and they will not do a thing to improve it. Americans see this, thats why the republicans in Congress are at 12% in the polls.

Defend the tea party, it would be interesting to see how many people would show up and would not have any issue with the media showing their faces on national tv.

Sarah Palin and her Tea Partiers represent the very worst of America. And this election cycle the Republicans seem to have pushed out the very quirkiest, uneducated, and anti-middle class canddiates from under every right wing rock that they could find. What a national embarrassment this woman and her party is!

Posted by: tstorm | September 4, 2011, 6:05 pm 6:05 pm

The Tea Party is America’s only hope of becoming fiscally responsible.
14.683 Trillion is a national embarrassment.

How can a party who would not take a 1 dollar revenue increase (cutting loopholes and subsidies) for every ten dollars in spending cuts, fiscally responsible?

Hello America, 9/6/11, let us go back in time, to another thursday, BloodyThursday July 5, 1934,
I know its a little before your time, when, the Longshoremen Union was abandonded by the Union Leaders much like Jimmy Hoffa, it was a time when the mayor of San Franscisco and the gouvenor of california declared war on the striking Long Shoremen, after a bloody battle which the long shoremen lost against clashes with police, a reluctant general strike was called among all unions, including the teamsters, whose cowardly leaders refused to stand up fpr the long shoremen, after the police attempted to sweep off flowers placed on the riot spot, finally the working citizens of San Francisco stood up against the Union Leadership and the Mayor, and declared a general strike on behalf of the long shoremen, such is the History of Mob intervention in the Unions, such is the intervention of the Mafia, wether it be from New York or Chicago, there interference in local and national politics has never changed, such is the Party of The Mob, such is the Democratic Party, why even JFK hired the Mob to make a hit on Fidel Castro, so why should anyone be suprized that Barrack Obama (Barry) would seek help from the Organized Crime syndicate of the teamsters or from the AFCIO, and so I say to Tea Party Candidates donot be intimidated by the Mob, all you need do is vote No to every Obama proposal, No to funding anymore bailouts, infact No Tea Party congressman need even attend Barry’s speaches to congress from now on. make yourselves noticably absent from Barry’s JIbbersish or his conections to the mob. sincerely Fezzy Bear

It just amazes me to read some of the replies in this. You voted for a man(if you can call him that) who has trashed this country. Not one thing has he done to help this country, unless you call blowing trillions of dollars for nothing is helping. Then you have the gall to talk bad about someone else, because your realizing how stupid you were for voting for him to start with.

Posted by: justcountry11 | September 15, 2011, 4:40 pm 4:40 pm

I didn’t read the article because ‘Tea Party’ plus ‘Palin’ equals ‘unbelievably stupid.’ But I would like to become better acquainted with her full throat.
