White House: Chief of Staff Told Boehner Weds. Morning of Speech Request
White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley telephoned Speaker Boehner directly late yesterday morning, sketching out the President’s plans to make his jobs proposal in an address to a Joint session – on Wednesday.
The Speaker did not object, but, Republicans say, he had to look at logistics and did not expect WH Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer to tweet the details an hour later.
The Boehner offer “on behalf of the bipartisan leadership and membership of both the House and Senate” to speak “at a time that works best for your schedule” was made public four hours after that.
The NFL season opener kicks off at 8:35pm Eastern time Thursday. By then the President’s address may be over, and only the GOP response and pundits will lose out.

Much ado about nothing. There was a miscommunication. End of story.
Look, the GOP has claimed to be concerned about the deficit BUT when they had the opportunity to strike a $4 trillion deficit-reduction deal with President Obama, they refused . These are not serious people. It is no wonder that Congressional Republicans and the tea party are so unpopular that even Rasmussen is running headlines about how negatively they are perceived.
The American people can vote them out of office. The majority of Americans are not conservative, not tea party and do not support the right wing’s scorched earth tactics or ideology. The majority of Americans do not want social security privatized and Medicare dismantled and disagree with the radical vision put forth tea party conservative Rick Perry’s FedUp! (more manifesto than a story of the unlikely rise of a D-student). The majority of Americans were extremely turned off by the GOP demogoguing during the debt ceiling talks and support job creation.
The GOP is out of step with America. They promised to focus on jobs, but we all get by the petty snits that accompanied the snafu regarding the president’s speech that Republicans in congress have no intention of working with the White House on jobs or anything else. But here’s the thing: we already knew that. I don’t get why the media is obsessed with this story.
This tweet sums it up: “Obama: ‘Way.’ GOP: ‘No way.’ There, you are caught up on today’s news and the whole last three years of politics.”

How could the White House staff be so clueless on this? While Obama obviously is not the sharpest knife in the drawer you would think that somebody like Daley would have a clue about how the game is played.Boehner has been rolling Obama since the tax-cut debate. While i abhor most of Obama’s policies I find it dangerous to have a President so weak and ineffectual as Mr. Obama has become. If he can’t stand up for what he believes (whatever that might be at the moment) how can he possibly be a leader on ANYTHING?

Here is the preview.. Country needs to stop partisan bickering and “dysfunction”. Note “dysfunction is the key word. Need infrastructure, payroll holiday tax extension and a new Homestead Act to repatriate corporate dollars. Please understand I am reasonable and to argue against this reasonable, balanced proposal is unreasonable. I needed the joint session as a venue because I need to kick off my campaign and look the the only one who is sincere has a plan. The timing, well even though should have been a long time ago I had control of both houses of Congress and the MSM so it didn’t matter that I just threw proverbial political feces on the wall and it didn’t stick.BTW, the tea party wants to hang me from a tree and all those millions of independent white voters who voted for me have had their latent racist traits brought forth by the conservative cabal. Now to my friends and supporters in the media, go ask those Republicans why they cannot be reasonable for the country’s sake. ATT, Boeing, and the rest of you greedy corporations if you don’t bring home your dollars and put them to work for America, turn you over to Eric Holder. Eric has quite a stash of ammunition left over from “fast and furious” and he won’t hesitate. Thank You and God bless the United States of America.

Excuse me but the headline is quite revealing as it says the Chief of staff TOLD Boehner. That’s simply not how it is done. ABC screwed up in trying to make the case for Obama-or did they?
