Sarah Palin Will Not Run for President

ABC News’ Polson Kanneth reports:

Sarah Palin will not run for president.  She made the announcement in a letter to supporters Wednesday night that was obtained by ABC News and read aloud on the Mark Levin radio program.

Read Palin’s letter here:

October 5, 2011
Wasilla, Alaska
After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.

I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.

Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.

In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.

Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!

God bless America.

– Sarah Palin

I’m loving it! Right wingers get used to Obama! The GOP has got nothing. Obama is going to have a cakewalk into re-election. Do you really think slick Rick or flip flop Romney is going to beat Obama? Ha Ha Ha, not on your life. See you at the inauguration; the last one was great, the one in 2013 will be even sweeter. Keep hating right wingers! LOL! LOL!

Posted by: kleier | October 5, 2011, 6:27 pm 6:27 pm

She gamed it as long as she could. After Christi set the bar for responsible behavior she had to stop the gravy train. It’s all good though. Still plenty of marketing mileage left to dress her mashed potatoes with. She loves doing it and she’s good at it. Just don’t ask her to actually do anything politically meaningful. Sarah doesn’t play that game. No, she just wants to retire in style, sitting pretty in Palm Springs. That’s the goal.

George Kaiser: Hey, George, see you at the inauguration. It was a little cold that day, but the last one was great. Oh, I hear the right wingers crying already. Boo hoo! LOL!

Is this really breaking news? I dont want less regulation. Imagine… more faulty cribs, cars, homes’ etc.. that the builder will NOT be held accountable for. By the way. Has anyone… ANYONE heard ONE plan the republicans have???? Im talking details strictly about their plan. No comparisons. Just all about their plan. No? I didnt think so. Same old TAXATION scare tactics. But continue to force DC inti taxation without representation. Smh.

@Justuspofolks – I’m an independent, voted for Obama in the last election, and I will be damned if I’m going to vote for him in the next election. It’s not a matter of being a “hater”, he is doing a terrible job at his job. If someone cannot flip the burger correctly, they get fired – how is it any different for a president? It’s not. Either the GOP will produce an effective canidate or I will use a throw away vote on an independant – I’m absolutely not making the mistake of buying onto the rockstarism that was the media during the 2008 campaign. He lacks experience, he’s not efficent, he’s not effective, he’s not doing well. Prove you have a brain and look at how he’s failing to uphold his promises – it shouldn’t take two terms to do what you promise your nation in one.

Neither flip flop Romney or slick Rick is going to be president! Quit hating on the President. You didn’t say a word when GWB was screwing up the country (Country Man) so be quiet now with your nutty right wing ranting. Come on, let’s hear some right wing vitriol in response! Sammy,
Treadmills may work now, but soon we won’t need them. Like I said to Sarah, we are almost there. All we need is another little loan and an understanding president to ensure that we can all benefit from the power of the sun. Look at the success of the Volt…

Think about this: in 1776 we left Englands rule. The same things our founding fathers didn’t like about being under England rule, exists today in Washington: taxes too high, the rich getting richer and controlling the country, etc. Dare I say another revolt is due sometime in the next couple of decades? Think about it. 2026? 2076? It will happen and the seeds are being planted today in the Wall Street protests…another underground movment is growing…i don’t think we can turn the country around as long as most of the polictains remain in power…history will repeat itself, just with a different set of players…

Sarah: Get a grip, Obama has done a great job while the GOP has fought him every step of the way. You are not informed at all. A vote for an independent is a vote for the GOP. Think about it, if you do that, you’ll be sorry, look at what happened in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana. It’s hard to do anything when you have someone working against you.

So she could care less about the issues or who’s got good ideas or how we can reunite the country; she just wants the republicans to take over the world. I am glad she’s not running, but It would have been good comic relief to see her go head to head with Obama.

At least she says she will remain a powerful political source and direct the geopolitical discourse. News Flash!! America’s financial crisis didn’t start in 08-09 when President Obama took office, this country’s problems started in the mid 80’s when auto manufactures abandoned American workers from Detroit for cheap laborers in Mexico but now China and India are providing the cheap labor while American workers are unemployed, we don’t manufacture anything, we’ve become a nation of consumers and corrupted by greed!!

America will never be solvent when it’s anti taxation and anti buy American made. How does a Government get money to give roading/water/etc to the masses? Through taxes. Where else are they going to get the money from?

Consumers encouraged the selling of jobs overseas by going for cheap stuff instead of something quality made. “Oh it’s only $50 I’ll just buy another one” times a multitude of replacements whereas if you’d just bought something good in the first place it would last you for years. You spend more buying cheap. And because Americans won’t work for a dollar a day (yet, the anti unions are still trying for that) that profit went to countries that don’t care about their workers.

How much do you own in your house that is American made? And don’t say you can’t find it because there is always some American somewhere that is hoping you’ll fly the flag, even if it is more expensive.

THE GOP IS TOAST! All they have is slick Rick, flip flop Romney, and chubby Christie is scared. Obama will have a cakwalk! I can’t wait until the inauguration; the last one was great, just a little cold that day. You right wingers have been duped, serve you right! LOL! Obama -2012!

This and the attention to Richie not running was a waste of time. Neither of them would have been a good President. Palin would have doomed the country if she took office.

Obama will loose anyways. It doesn’t matter if he ran against a 3rd party alone he would still loose. I do feel bad for any one who still falls for his hope and change and still believes in him. I guess the media is herding you all well.

She takes even this opportunity to attempt to smear her enemies (people who think logically and within reason, 2 things that are out of bounds to religitards).

She’s a quitter, and the CIO of Fox (or something) Roger Ailes said she’s stupid, she’s a joke, but she’s hot and she gets ratings.

lol your 15 mins are over, sarah. now go rangle up the aip and try to secede. again.

Can’t anybody lose her somewhere in the vast alaskan wilderness? Obviously, she had someone write this for her. Every time I hear anyone likeing her, I find the link to her interview with Katie Couric & have them watch it, & never get any more comments from them. No way she wrote this.

I’m shocked that anyone would be shocked by this. She’s smart enough to know she’s not intelligent enough for the position of president, but she is brilliant for realizing she could make a fortune off her lower IQ’d followers.

2016? ~QQ~ Hey I’m just asking

Posted by: mspaap | October 5, 2011, 10:06 pm 10:06 pm

Would I have say Gov. Palin has abandoned the American People, and America itself, in our Nation’s time of need, in our hour of desperation.. I would have to say yes..   But hey, it a free
country, and she can choose how to serve, or not to serve.. Her base of support is now all but disappeared, and her impact will be lessened on everything she says and does.. as far as the Patriotic American Constitutional Conservatives are concerned. Can you imagine what the country would be like, if Ronald Reagan never ran for President in 1980.. We would not have had the decades of Economic prosperity we had.. Let alone, America’s restoration of our Economic, Political, and Military pre-eminence in the world..

So, this is what we now have.. And Mr. Herman Cain is now putting his inexperienced foot in his mouth, with statements he has just made, blaming the American People for not having a job, if they are or rich.. as the recession, due in large part to Obama, has caused millions of people to be out of work, and no fault of their own..

Unfortunately, Obama will eat him alive, politically, if he were to be the Republican Nominee.. and due to Gov. Palin’s final exit form the National political scene, this is what we are now faced with.. Romney, Perry, or Cain.. 2 career crony capitalist Republican party RINO’s, and an inexperienced pizza man..

Some of you fools are still doing it and the Palins are laughing all the way to the bank.

This should not be a surprise to any rational-thinking person….Our country’s leadership quality has been in steady decline for more than the last 40 years, while the rest of the world has watched and learned…Why was she EVER seriously considered???? The fact that she ever was signals to us, in my opinion, that as a Nation we need to check ourselves…. We need much more leadership from our so-called leaders….Why aren’t we as a people demanding that?

Posted by: Paul A P | October 5, 2011, 10:47 pm 10:47 pm

This is sad news because Michael Bachman needs to be ahead of someone in the polls and Leno and Letterman need nightly joke material. God however obviously told her not to run. I agree with others here that the current GOP candidates give Obama a shoe in for next year.

Posted by: JKLMNOP | October 6, 2011, 12:36 am 12:36 am

I hope to God these people see the truth, Mrs. Palin. People go so low to target you and your family. And they don’t realize that their president is full of nothing but hot air. After all, how else could you describe the decline in the ecomony? If he is as good as Bush was bad, you’d think he’d make the ecomony turn up. Especially considering Bush has been gone for three years. Well, when America turns third-world they won’t be able to deny the president was just burdened with leftovers. If he’s that bad, he shouldn’t run.
Know, Mrs. Palin, that there are many of us who appreciate all you’ve done. Never let the world take advantage of you; I personally know what it’s like to be the only one standing in between your family and the jackals of the enemy. You are a true American.

For everyone who has issue with our president…when you have a no budge feuding congress with an opposing party who vowed from day1 that they would do everything possible to make sure this president would not be successful …how do you think anything was supposed to get done? There has been NOTHING done in DC that somewhat resembles standing behind OUR president to get this country on the right track.
And now people supporting name-calling and comparing our president to Hitler, someone who was responsible for some of the greatest atrocities in the history of mankind, we are in trouble. We are imploding from within. A new INSANE civil war that is detroying us.

4 more years for Obama! And I couldn’t be happier! The hatred and vitriol coming from right -wingers(klansman) and the “devisive, sink to anything” republicans is sickening. It’s amazing to me that while Bush and Cheney were running this nation into the ground, while we watched them run out the back door leaving the worse recession in history in their wake, while we suffer the economic disaster caused by 2 absolutely stupid wars started by these overbearing cowboy clowns, all some of the Archie Bunkers of the tea-party and the right-wing klansman can say is it’s Obama’s fault. Yes unemployment has gone higher. No everything is not economically sound in the country. But this is “THE WORSE RECESSION IN HISTORY” left to us by the very same clowns who think we should give them 4 more years to do more of the same. They sit back laughing saying no to everything the president proposes, banking on the belief that there is enough racial hatred alive in this country to cause us to forget the mess that they left us with. The bag of mixed nuts they are presenting as candidates for president is a disgrace, devisive little demogogs, proposing nothing but attacking everything. Even if you don’t like black people don’t let that become the reason to commit collective suicide by bringing these clowns back to the presidency. It took them 8 years to mess it up it can’t be fixed in less than 3. Some things have to get worse before they get better, but look at the auto industry we are coming out. I ask you to love your country more than you hate our race if that’s possible.

My bank account and I thank all of you dimwits who believed in me. $20 million is a lot of money. I hit the lottery. God made leaders like myself to take advantage of those like you who can’t think for themselves. If you see me smiling, I am chuckling at how stupid people can be. Give anyone fifteen minutes of fame and they will follow you anywhere. You have taken me to the Promised Land. I will still be here to advise you. Donald Trump and I will be running together in 2016. As soon as he can figure out how Obama falsified his birth certificate.

Don’t offer an alternative to any plan, just say NO to whatever that was offered with the hope of making things worse so that they can win the presidency. As Lee Corso will say, “Not so fast my friends” American’s are smart enough and cannot be hoodwinked as Sarah Palin hookdwinked the right wingers. OBAMA 2012, get used to it.

tell you what she is running. she is doing her talk shows , she was in st. louis, in virginia. the why she said ‘no; was the fact the gop got to her.she got politics in her blood. she and todd were members of the separist party in wasila; her life is all about politics, she is not running as a gop- nor a third party- candidate, but as we the people candidate soon she will be drafted, great political psychology, i have ever experienced. that is why she said it will be ‘ an unconventional race’. she will be drafted, nominated, and elected the 2012 president of the usa. she is smart, the more you hate her is the more you love her.and furhermore, which news contributor will have the glamour to have a little build at her estate;; she gets what she want, that is why she said she her cards close to her heart, she will lay down a royal flush. very intelligent.

Snowboarding was created in American in the 1960′s and 70′s as a mixture of skateboarding, surfing and skiing. It started out as a uncomplicated toy invented by Sherman Poppen, a Michigan engineer in 1965. He fastened two skis with each other and attached a rope to one end for controlling path and gave the toy to his daughter.

Republicans are historically elitest so it is not surprising that a person, such as Sarah Palin, who represents middle America would be maligned by her own party. Palin would have made a great president. She is decisive, tough and not afraid to drill baby drill. Obama, for all his rhetoric and oratory, is sinking the good ship, USA and now we are looking at a field of lawyers to choose from. So be it…If Hillary Clinton was running, it would be a different story for the Democrats!
