Wake up America, and smell the coffee. Something is very fishy in D. C. Wall st. protestgers should be picketing the politicians, not just wall street. High school students should be looking into the trades, where are the tool and dye makers, mechanical engineers, etc. College is not for everyone, especially since most of the jobs have gone abroad.

I’m sure King George thought all those farmers and merchants in that rag-tag revolutionary army were hilarious too.”— No, they don’t have a serious agenda.. not once your read their “wish list”… they want $20 per hour to all americans whether they work or not.. All US debt at every level to be forgiven? – even personal debt. – All college loans paid for? they are not marching on the rich, they are marching to get a hand out for NOT WORKING.. Are you aware that many of them are being paid? you can go on craigslist and see the ad for “volunteers” at the rate of 250 – 350 per week.. When reporters ask them what they are protesting, half of them don’t even know for sure.. And as to you last statment… the difference between then and now is that those “farmers and mechants” were fightig FOR a free market system and decentralized government that would allow wealth without penalty.. THE OPPOSE of what OWS is protesting for…

The president has every right , under the constitution, to just sit back and say to Congress “the people elected you to find solutions to our problems, you pass those solutions and I’ll enforce them”
I am aware that you are defendig the president, but he did submit a billt o congress which is his perogative.. the problem is that instead of LEADING he’s out campaigning and shouting “pass this bill”.. His own party will not submit it for a vote and have now enacted the “nuclear option” to prevent republicans from getting it brought up for a vote and still, the president’s only reposnce is to make another speech in which he blames REPUBLICANS for not passing his bill.. THAT IS NOT LEADERSHIP..Whats going on is the political equivelent of Pee Wee Herman’s “I know you are, but what am I?” skit.. and its disgusting.

A lot of the blame for this mess should go to the media. It’s in the finacial interest of the networks and communications companies to keep this election close. If the president makes political points one day the media tears him down the next. The same with the republicans, if they seem up , the next day the pundits tear them down

There are billions of dollars in ratings and advertisement the networks will lose if this election is a runaway one way or the other.

I’m tired of hearing someone speak and then having to listen to 20 minutes of pundits telling me what they “really” meant. I dislike Rush Limbaugh, but at least I know where he’s coming from.
We need a news station that just reports the news and does not try to entertain us. The politians provide enough entertainment for all of us.

Your right, the president is usually the leader of his party, but there’s little he can do if both parties are so politcally motivated that they refuse to budge on anything. President Obama has at least gotten the democrats to consider cuts to entitlements, and several othe republican issues. The republicans haven’t moved at all , its in their political interst to keep this recesion going. The president tryed to herd rabbits, it didn’t work.

Now he has no choice but to try and use the American people to push Congress. I can’t beleive the nerve, this country is in severe economic crisis and the Senate takea a holiday.

@tferretti … You are correct.. but the President is the LEADER of this Country and of his Party. If he wanted this bill voted on “BAD ENOUGH” he would go to Reid and tell him to let the Repubs attach it to the bill, so it can be voted on. BUT, evidently, he don’t have the stones to do this or Reid is smarter than the President and know his bill won’t pass.

President Obama is using the only option he has to get things done. Go to the American people and try to convince them to get the “do nothings” in Congress to move.
