First of all, for the obvious genius here (Rick Mcdaniel) BOTH parties have primaries in NH – just not this time, because MA0bama has no challengers in the Marxist (aka Democrat) Party.
Second, it is a LAW in NH that the Sec’y of the State must set the primary first.
It has worked better than you know.
NH is truly a RETAIL political state. Fail to talk to THE PEOPLE (and that means face-to-face,not by commercials) and you will lose.
Further, people here take the responsibility seriously. They are generally very savvy in their questions and in how they treat these politicians.
Many in the ruling class get their comeuppance here because we believe THEY WORK FOR US.
This often comes as a big shock to the inside the beltway types.
So labor under your ignorant illusions all you want. NH will stll remain the ‘first-in-the-Nation’ primary state (for BOTH parties).

Mr. McDaniel, it might behoove you to know that Bill Gardner is a Democrat, and has been a Democrat for his entire tenure as our Secretary of State. And as his office is appointed by the legislature, that means he’s won the faith and trust of our state time and time again.

Take it from a New Hampshirite who has known people who have worked with Bill Gardner. The guy literally wrote the book on our primary, and he Does. Not. Bluff. If Bill says I gotta go to vote in December, I’ll be there.

I’m tired of this junk. NH and Iowa are not important to the GOP and especially not to conservatives or libertarians. Why should two meaningless states matter in choosing who the GOP candidate is? This is how you end up with McCain, Dole, etc. For example: Name the conservative among the 3 finalists from last election’s primary: McCain, Romney or Huckabee. AHHHHHHHH! Wrong. There were no conservatives, and certainly no libertarian leaning candidates. If actual red states were allowed to choose first, you would end with a race between Cain, Perry, Paul and maybe Johnson. That’s a better crowd than what will be chosen in NH and Iowa.
