President Obama, I think you are doing a great Job, I know what it feels like to be the only one of color on the job. I wish you well in everything you do. You have kept your word on everything you said, thank you. I know if you could do more you would. People forget that you are a smart, honest, decent father and husband and GREAT President. Conservatives lie, just to get stupid people to vote for them. What i liked about you, you are honest and you know how to run this country but the people who are jelous of you, and people responding to these blogs don’t even read, they listen to ruff necks who hate people of color. I am so sorry it’s so hard for you. I wish i could do something to ease your stress. i will vote for you and pray for you. And i do believe you are a Christian. I wish God’s called people, would get behind you and give you a try. I think you are the best thing going. Now to my question How do I get a student loan forgiven after 20 years i am paying it and it won’t be paid off until 2023 WOW, I am disable and can no longer work and do the type of job I was train to do.
Thank you and keep up the good work, my son and daughter in law, both served in the Air Force for over 16 years and my daughter in law still serving due to resign in 4 years or so,
So you have just completed our family, my son and daughter made it out Safe. Both didTours of duty in Iraq, thank God they both made it out. President it’s an honor to call you my President and you have my respect and my vote, God Bless you and God Bless USA

What about the students who graduated with in the last 4-5 years, who are being laid off and have excess amounts of student debt… does the President not think that maybe WE cannot afford the outrageous student loan payments? We have been making payments for years, why are we not eligible to receive the benefits that only “new borrowers after 2014″ will receive. Apparently, we should remain in debt even though we have been working and making payments. Thank you Obama for “helping” those who are currently contributing to the economy, oh wait… you are just helping those who will be in the future.

This is an incremental step for students, but so much more can be done. The solution to debt isnt a one action thing but something that will affect everyone. Its a good step and I see nothing wrong with this except that students had to push for this so much, we didn’t get this for free. Nothing is free, it took endless lobbying and protesting. It took action. So if you want something take action and stop complaining you bipartisan fools. Its all the same in the end. The only reason people complain about repbulicans is because they do a lot of things that people dont agree with and democrats keep doing well nothing which is so sad to say. We clearly suffer from a “debilitating cycle” (winner take all, hacker&pearce)

I am so very excited about this… My loan payments each month are more than my mortgage payment leaving me unable to afford anything else… This will make a HUGE difference in my life.!.!.!. I can even consider graduate school.!.!.!.
35% of my income pays student loans… Getting back 20% of that income each month will be amazing for me… I could afford to eat healthier again.!.!.!.

It should not be the tax payers responsibility to take over these loans. I made a conscious decision to go to a college I could afford and working the entire time to pay for my own tuition with loan I could afford. I don’t know why people today feel they are entitled to have the government pay for their own bad choices, but it is time people accept responsibility (and the consequences) for their own decisions!

Not what your People Asked of you. Read The Petition at your site Mr.Obama.Your people asked for you to abolish the loans so people can use that fresh knowledge and money to start a business,So they didn’t have to wait 15 to 20 years until after the loan is paid off to be able to afford to start a business,and not have to go back to school again to get refreshed.Just like Regulating Marijuana like Cig’s and alcohol and you send your goons to raid places that regulate marijuana,From a person that has supposedly never smoked,ate or ever used Marijuana you are being awful judgmental and not listening to your people. You can’t keep drugs out of Maximum Security Prisons,Thus would only mean even if you turned America into a prison you will still never keep drugs out. It does take some common sense…. By the way thats a crappy political stunt you pulled there keeping our troops over there in war just to wait until election time and use it to get votes, Funny how you said that you were going to do this as soon as you became president and you didn’t.But now people are listening to what Ron Paul has to say and it seems awful funny most of the politicians are starting to fall more towards what Ron Paul is saying but your all fake and we know your only doing it to get elected and Ron Paul has been saying these things because this is how he feels regardless if he gets elected or not….You are No Good Mr. Obama time for you to be Voted out and Ron Paul To Move In!!!!!!!

The federal government services these loans?
Will this put us further in debt?
Who determines what discretionary income is?
Are we going to grow another federal bureaucracy to figure that out?
Is there a maximum number of years someone can stretch their loan out to?
If a student dies of old age before paying off their loan does the federal government forgive the debt?
Is this going to cost us more money than what the students save?
