Ad Compares Herman Cain to Clarence Thomas, Warns of ‘High Tech Lynching’
ABC News’ Jonathan Karl (@jonkarl) reports:
An emotionally charged and slickly produced new video obtained by ABC News from the group Americans for Herman Cain portrays the sexual harassment story as a racially motivated effort to destroy Herman Cain.
The video ends with the Clarence Thomas’s closing statement at his 1991 confirmation hearing: “This is a circus. It is a national disgrace. It is a high tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves . It is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order you will be lynched, destroyed caricatured rather than hung from a tree.”
As Thomas speaks, the video superimposes the words “Don’t let the LEFT do it again.”
Americans for Herman Cain is a so-called Super Pac independent of his campaign.
A spokesman for the group tells ABC News the ad will run on television in Iowa next week and in a series of Internet ads on the Drudge Report and elsewhere. It will also be emailed to 25,000 Republicans in Iowa.

Well, now we see Cain’s true character shine through. Denials that he did anything, trying to place blame on other candidates (what?!?!), outright lying and then 10 different versions of what should have been one story. Whatever is under wraps now, you can be certain it will all come out if he manages to get the nomination. True things maybe but without a doubt SOMETHING will come up. Now that he’s shown himself to have very successful attack points, we know he’s not suitable as a candidate.

Interesting when an African American Republican is criticized or a scandal breaks it is a “high tech lynching” but to accuse the President of the United States of being a terrorist, communist, all around general creep, that is okay.

Thomas was guilty, and accused by a black woman. Cain’s accusers will also turn out to be black. Yes, the two cases are very alike aren’t they.

We know these women were paid money so we know there is some meat here. It’s absurd for him to try to use racism as an excuse here. Especially when not three weeks ago he tried to claim it didn’t exist. I have never heard Obama try to claim the stupidity such as him being a Muslim or the birth certificate thing was racism.

Please excuse me… I need help again because I’m rather confused here… This ad is pointing the finger at the left but Mr. Cain has followed the bread crumbs back to Rick Perry. So is Rick Perry working for the “left” persuasion? Mr. Perry says its Mr. Romney. So… is Mr. Romney working for the “left” persuasion? Also, could someone explain to me how this is a “high-tech lynching.” The “whatever” is just totally irrelevent. It is what it is or isn’t. What is relevent here is the abysmal handling of this incident by Cain and his staff!!! Can you imagine him handling a significant crises facing the United States? Finally… who is pulling the “race card” here? …and unnecessarily from my point of view.

I think the comparison between Cain and Thomas is appropo because I believe Thomas was also guilty of sexual harassment. He (Thomas) just had the votes to be a SC Justice anyway. BTW I don’t think that has anything to do with Thomas’ poor performance as a SC justice, nor do I think it will have anything to do with Cain’s certain failure as a president.

I find it interesting that the Republican hot air buffoons did everything in there power during the Obama run to discount him as well as Hilary Clinton when it looked like she was going to get the possible Democratic nomination. They went out of their way to smear, print half or false truths. There is something here where Cain is concerned, three woman have stated through attorneys that he made sexually inappropriate statements when he was in charge of the National Restaurant Association. But because of confidentiality contracts they are not allowed to speak about it and or be identified. But Cain can smear and do anything he wants. This is a news worthy story, and as the old saying goes, “Where there is smoke, there is usually fire.”

Nobody really cares about race anymore! Serious are we to believe somebody is trying to take this guy down because he is black? Who sees color anymore?!
On a side note…the media is on him as they would any leading candidate with FACTUAL records of this. He is acting like the media is singling him out when the media is the only reason he has a name. He won one single straw poll and his name is plastered everywhere. Probably because he is black.

So, Republicans believe questioning Cain about a sexual harassment claim (leaked by Republicans) is a high tech lynching of blacks, but questioning President Obama’s citizenship and patriotism is a spirited debate. The fact that Republicans would stoop so low shows they are desperate and irrational.

Here I thought we would vote for a candidate on record and political views and how they plan to solve our issues today. No its just about who said what a decade ago. Just another lynching from liberals who can’t win any other way. How sad for our Political system. We wonder why we get what we get in Government.

Two women are found to be accusers in the 90′s, Cain denies all. Another claims he tried to do her also, Cain blames the leak on Perry. Perry blames Romney and the beat goes on.

LOUIS NARDOZI: “. . . outright lying and then 10 different versions of what should have been one story.”
Cain’s inability to remember false accusations against him that never happened to begin with isn’t lying.
LOUIS NARDOZI: “True things maybe but without a doubt SOMETHING will come up.”
At least you can admit you aren’t interested in the truth, just taking Cain down. Liberals and other establishment characters are running scared indeed. And, the Cain train just gathers more steam because of it. You aren’t fooling anyone.

Cain is not fit to be president (even of the National Restaurant Association). He’s an intellectual lightweight who (apparently) lets the little head do the thinking for his big head. When he’s questioned about important issue and (policy) he simply doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Forget about the need to make women feel uncomfortable, he needs to stick with what he does best, being creepy around females and making pizzas. Duh!!

Cain has been neutralized much like Sarah Palin. The MSM has given more early attention to Cain than President Clinton’s three women accusers and he was reelected for a second term. If Cain is truly guilty, I’m glad he will go away. I set very high standards for politicians so it matters not to me what party they belong to. Character counts!

SECONDLOOK: “We know these women were paid money so we know there is some meat here.”
ATHEIST 1: “You can’t pay out two settlements for sexual harassment and then pretend nothing happened.”
It isn’t uncommon for people to use ‘harassment’ to defend from poor performance or a firing. Many times it’s cheaper to just pay these people off than absorb the cost of going through years of court proceedings.
The real ‘meat’ is that Cain stayed, while these women were shown the door.
SECONDLOOK: “It’s absurd for him to try to use racism as an excuse here.”
Not at all. Liberals taught us that no one can criticize Obama without a racial motive. The same goes here, right?

Guilty of what! Making passes at a women?…..Hurting someone’s feelings? Acting like a ass? Those are not crimes….and if you ever worked in any group environment you basically can accuse anyone of anything and if you threaten a financial lawsuit you will have your pay day. This is how being called a racist got watered down. Keep saying it enough times and it has no meaning. Sexual Harassment accusations are no different. What did say today? I never knew how many women were named Anonymous….come out and show yourself not your lawyer.

You probably live around mostly your OWN race, which is probably caucasian or you or live in a heavily populated area around strictly your own race.
Go and try being the only race with everyone who is not your own race and ask again.

Typical right, they can make any statement/criticism against the President, but when folks start talking about one of their own, they want to start using the term lynching and cry foul. Sorry, you can’t have it both ways. You like to dish out the propaganda to followers who believe everything you say and get your radio mouth pieces to confirm the propaganda as the gods truth. The Right has done everything possible to make the economy worst. Remember the Right swore that they would do nothing to support our current President. The Right wants to make the President look bad at the expense of all Americans. Any you wonder why the economy is getting worst, just look in the mirror and see the reflection looking back at you. Big business continues to hoard money and send our jobs over seas so that their profits can continue to pile up. These same companies do not pay their fair share of taxes and some pay zero. Unfortunately, this is all okay with the Right. Folks have the never to complain about Congress, yet they continue to the same old politician year after year. Remember, you elected thes folks, do you are getting what you asked for. Ask yourself why do Politicians spend millions fo dollars to run for a postion that pays just over $100,000? Who’s interest do they really have…

two things that need to be remembered: Clarence Thomas WAS appointed to the Supreme Court; and, Herman Cain lied from the beginning, regardless of who “leaked” the information. oh, I love it when the Repubs eat their own. : )

A study shows that these harassment charges against Mr. Cain have received about 25 news stories to every one story about former president Clinton for the same thing. This shows a real media bias. Also considering the way most liberals handle these type of things one must conclude that they are also racist because Mr. Cain happens to be black.

Wow, some of you people really don’t understand what this whole thing is really about, do you? This entire situation: the allegations, the settlement, the gag order – all this happened a dozen years ago. THAT IS A FACT! THAT IS AN OBJECTIVE, KNOWN, ABSOLUTE FACT! There are no “allegations” today about what happened a dozen years ago. IT HAPPENED! It did NOT “allegedly” happen. IT REALLY HAPPENED! He WAS accused of harassment, he DID settle, and he DID get a non disclosure order signed by his accusers. ALL OF THAT HAPPENED! And ALL of this was well before Cain became involved in politics. (Even before his failed 2004 Senate bid). The issue TODAY is the WAY that Cain and his camp have responded to the reporting of these facts. In a word: poorly. Mr. Cain obviously knew about this incident from a dozen years ago, because it happened to HIM. He should have been prepared to address it intelligently when it finally came up. He wasn’t. Which speaks to his inability to act proactively, IMO. In today’s political climate, for a presidential candidate to NOT be prepared when one of his skeletons gets out of his closet – especially one with the word ‘sex’ in it – is simply bad management and bad leadership and bad preparation. He is now spinning faster than a top, doing a lousy job of damage control over a situation he KNEW ABOUT for quite a long time. He is unprepared – for this scandal AND for political office……..
Posted by: Searambler | November 4, 2011, 9:08 am 9:08 am
I don’t consider myself to be racist but the facts speak for themselves: although blacks make up a small portion of the population, they commit a disproportionately larger amount of crime. I consider Democrats to be more honest than Republicans. I’ve noticed that when a Democrat is caught stealing, many if not most times it’s a black person who has committed the crime.
I consider Republicans to be much more dishonest than Democrats so I shudder to think of what might happen if a black Republican becomes President.

SEARAMBLER: “This entire situation: the allegations, the settlement, the gag order – all this happened a dozen years ago. THAT IS A FACT!”
I’ve read it was a severance payment, not a settlement. She left and got payed for it, while Cain continued his job.
SEARAMBLER: “IT HAPPENED!”
Yes, baseless allegations happened and were dismissed along with the alleger.
SEARAMBLER: “He should have been prepared to address it intelligently when it finally came up.”
He can only address what he remembers of false, baseless allegations that never happened. And, for obvious reasons, he wasn’t directly involved in the handling of the allegations against him. You can’t expect the man to remember things that never happened or he wasn’t a party to.
SEARAMBLER: “Which speaks to his inability to act proactively, IMO. In today’s political climate . . .”
When the allegations fail to stick, move on to criticize his inability to remember things that never happened or he wasn’t a party to. You aren’t fooling anyone.
You have nothing but your obvious and pathetic desperation. The dying breath of a failed and corrupt establishment. And, the Cain train just picks up more steam!
