Actually, Lib, they sang the song to Laura, but the song was ABOUT President Bush. How deplorable to indoctrinate poor, hurricane-ravaged children by plying them with Easter candy.

Actually, dewitt, that song that these children were “coerced” into singing was to LAURA Bush. I know you libs have problems with gender identification, but Laura is the wife. She’s the female half of the marriage and was the First Lady, not the President. mmmm! Mmmm! mmmm! barak hssein obama….i know THAT sends a tingle up your leg.

Disgusting, you say? Yes, it was disgusting when those children, all victims of hurricane Katrina, were forced to sing the praises of the President & government back in 2006. It was at the White House Easter egg roll, and the poor kids were coerced into singing:

“Our country’s stood beside us
People have sent us aid.
Katrina could not stop us,
Our hopes will never fade.
Congress, Bush and FEMA
People across our land
Together have come to rebuild us
and we join them hand-in-hand.”

mmm, mmm, mmm, shades of Idi Amin!

Perhaps, Jess Dewitt, the daughters singing his praises will be full of sour notes. But you know what? I would much rather listen to a man’s daughters singing praises (sour notes and all) to their father than to listen to first and second grade children being forced to sing the praises of a president. At least the daughters are making an informed choice (whether you agree with their choice is up to you…I imagine you would consider their admiration of their father and his politics as being wrong…but at least it is THEIR choice). When you coerce 6 and 7 year old children to sing the praises of the nation’s leader….why, then, that just smacks of third-world despotism. It brings visions of the Ugandan peoples being forced to line the streets to dance for and praise Idi Amin. Disgusting. So, yep, I’ll take the sour notes of the Gingrich daughters…..or even obama’s daughters if they want to sing for him…..
